NBA Sports Betting – Pistons Host Bucks With Mercurial Iverson in Hot Water

The Detroit Pistons (9-5 SU, 7-7 ATS, 7-7 O/U) have just find out firsthand, the drama that Allen Iverson brings to a team!

While still searching for their new identity after going 5-5 in ten games since acquiring the mercurial shooting guard, the Pistons held a light practice on Thanksgiving Day only to see Iverson blow off the team function without ever notifying anyone.

Tonight, Iverson will not start when the Pistons take on the Milwaukee Bucks (7-10 SU, 12-4-1 ATS, 11-6 O/U) and may not play at all as part of his punishment from the team as well as getting fined from his new ballclub.

The Pistons are coming off a 110-96 win over the New York Knicks on Wednesday in which they narrowly covered the spread as a 13-point home favorite and snapped a modest two-game skid.

“Those two days (off) made a dramatic difference, especially on defense,” Iverson said. “I’m always playing with effort, but now I know where I’m supposed to be – I know the team rules now.”

The Bucks have dropped two consecutive games, including Wednesday’s 102-96 win over the Atlanta Hawks, though they did manage to cover the spread for NBA sports betting backers as I suggested in the BetUS Locker Room earlier that day.

Richard Jefferson scored 25 points to lead the Bucks, who played without injured stars Michael Redd and Andrew Bogut in the loss. Redd has been out of action since suffering a sprained ankle on Nov. 2, while Bogut was held out after bruising his knee in Monday’s loss at Orlando.

“No. This is pro sports. We’re paid to win,” Milwaukee coach Scott Skiles said. “Nobody’s going to present me a medal because we’re not out of the game. We’re supposed to be in the games. We’re supposed to win the games. And we had our opportunities. We just weren’t able to make the plays.”

Backup point guard Ramon Sessions added 21 points and reserve forward Charlie Villanueva added 19 points in 22 minutes and is averaging 17.8 points in his last four games.

“We can’t make any excuses,” Villanueva said. “Nobody’s going to feel sorry for us. We just fell short.”

Here is a look at tonight’s key trends, followed by my in-depth analysis and NBA Free Pick.

The total has gone OVER in 4 of Milwaukee’s last 5 games when playing Detroit
The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Detroit’s last 5 games
Detroit is 11-1 SU in its last 12 games when playing at home against Milwaukee
Detroit is 6-1 SU in its last 7 games when playing Milwaukee

NBA Odds

Milwaukee Bucks +9 -110
Detroit Pistons -9 -110

Over 189 -110
Under 189 -110

Analysis: Despite the fact that they are playing at home in this matchup, I think the Detroit Pistons could be looking at a home loss against the injury-riddled Bucks.

Even if they don’t win outright, I like the Bucks, the league’s No. 1 ATS team so far, to cover the spread against the Pistons.
