Miami Heat vs. Indiana Pacers Preview

This is a, pretty much, must win game for the Pacers, as if they lose they will have to win 2 more games in Miami. NBA lines have the Heat as 2.5-road favorites with a total of 184.5.

In Game 3 the Heat beat the Pacers 114-96.

On the season the Heat are 53-41 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 48-43-3 and the Pacers are 52-44 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 47-47-2.

This season the Pacers are 36-12 at home and the Heat are 34-12 on the road.

While LeBron James only went for 22 points in Game 3 he controlled the offense through the post and the Pacers had no answer for him. The Pacers need to double team him and not allow him to get near the bucket in the post.

Indiana was outscored 52-36 in the paint and they cannot allow that to happen in this game.

The Pacers ranked 2nd this season in opponents’ points allowed, but in Game 3 they allowed the Heat to shoot a scorching FG% of 54.5%. The higher the score is the more the Heat have the advantage. [ad-6571516]

While the Heat were hot shooting in Game the Pacers only shot 39.7% from the floor. Emerging superstar Paul George was only 3/10 shooting for 13 points and he needs to score for the Pacers to win.

Roy Hibbert also needs to get more involved in the offense tonight, as in Game 3 he did have 20 points doing a good job getting to the free throw line, but he was only 4/12 from the field.

Every Heat starter scored at least 14 points in Game 3 and James was the only player that did not shoot over 50% from the field going 8/17.

The Heat have won 23 of their last 24 road games.

In some betting trends for this Eastern Conference semifinals match up the Heat are 21-5 ATS in their last 26 road games, 14-6 ATS in their last 20 games overall, and they have an Over record of 4-0 in their last 4 games.

The Pacers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games, 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. loss, and they have an Over record of 8-2 in their last 10 home games.

In the last 5 games between these 2 teams the total has gone Over every time.

Jason’s Pick: This game will be a closer contest than Game 3, but James and company will find a way to win and they will also cover the spread taking a 3-1 lead in this series.
