That’s two starters gone, but there’s good news—USA is still loaded with talent. Athleticism isn’t going to be a problem for this team, and that’s a huge asset in international competition.
The bigger problem is going to be size, but that’s why a guy like Anthony Davis will have plenty of opportunities to shine on both ends of the floor.
Spain 2014 FIBA World Cup Odds 5/2
If any team has a shot at beating the United State, Spain might be it. Led by NBA stars such as Pau Gasol and his brother Marc, the two 7-footers will look to take advantage of a clearly undersized USA roster. Don’t forget, either, that shot-blocking machine Serge Ibaka is also representing the Spanish national squad.
Jose Calderon and Ricky Rubio give the team quickness and facilitation, rounding out the roster that can compete in a championship against Team USA.
France 2014 FIBA World Cup Odds 25/1

The Greece national team has three NBA players on its roster. Argentina is the only team in the top five to not have an NBA player on their roster. Manu Ginobili, who has become a staple for this squad, will not be participating. At 37 years old, he says he is “98 percent” sure that will not compete for the team again in the future.
This team is deep enough to make up for the loss, but with Ginobili gone, the odds drop a bit when it comes to a championship pursuit.
