2014 NBA Championship Futures Odds & Handicapping Predictions

NBA Futures Betting?

After a long, and at times grueling, regular season, the NBA playoffs are finally upon us. Betting on the individual games can certainly be profitable, but some of the biggest tickets cash are ones that are purchased before the games even get underway.[ad-4468020]

NBA futures won’t be on the board for much longer, but the alert bettor knows that breaking down these odds correctly can result in massive profits. Check out [dfads params=’groups=63740&limit=1&return_javascript=0′] today!

Here’s a look at four team that could offer up some value in their quest for the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

Indiana Pacers +600

The books certainly weren’t giving away 6-to-1 odds on the Pacers at the All-Star break. Now, how much do we really want to discount the Pacers? They’re going to get a tune-up series in the opening round against Atlanta which may go longer than many would hope, but it will help to tune the team up and help them get their mojo back.

For the longest time, we heard that home court was the key for this team in an inevitable Eastern Conference Final showdown with the Heat. Well, they’ve got it, having clinched home court throughout the Eastern leg of the playoffs.

The Pacers gave the Heat plenty of trouble in the postseason a year ago, and if they can get things figured out by then, and they should, getting these 6-to-1 odds is going to seem like a gift.

Golden State Warriors +2800

The Warriors can shoot the three. No one is going to deny that. Steph Curry and Klay Thompson make the Warriors just about unstoppable when they get hot. What many overlook, is that the Warriors are a deeper team than that.

The Warriors rate out as one of the top defenses in the West, and rank fifth in the Association in rebounding. A healthy Andrew Bogut would make this a lot easier to swallow, but the Warriors have taken giant strides forward from a team that pulled off an upset in the 3-6 matchup a year ago, then gave the top-seeded Spurs fits in the second round.

This year, they find themselves back in that 3-6 matchup against a Clippers team that no one is giving them a chance against. Marc Jackson has also come under heat in his role as head coach, and the team has a prime opportunity to make some noise in the us-against-the-world role.

Memphis Grizzlies +6500

For the Grizzlies, it’s a tale of two seasons. The team came out of the gates slow with a new head coach, then had to team with a 23-game absence for star Marc Gasol. By the time that storm was weathered, the team was just 17-19 and on the outside looking in of the Western Conference playoff picture.

When Gasol returned, the team went on a serious run, winning nine of his first 10 games back, then closing the year on a five-game winning streak to clinch their playoff spot. The team compiled a 33-13 record over the final 46 games of the regular season, a record that give them a .717 winning percentage over that span.

Now they go into the playoffs as an underdog, but if they can continue to build on their 14-game home winning streak, a team that snuck into the Western Conference Final a year ago can be a serious force this postseason as well.

Toronto Raptors +7000

The Raptors appeared to be more of a contender for the top overall pick than the top prize in basketball early in the season, but the Rudy Gay trade really changed the team’s fortunes. Down the stretch, the Raptors picked up some big wins, beating the Pacers in two of their last three meetings.

It may be a little much to ask for the young team to win the big game, but there’s value to gain from the team along the way, starting with a +145 line in their opening series with the Nets.

Miami Heat +215
San Antonio Spurs +260
Oklahoma City Thunder +400
Los Angeles Clippers +900
Houston Rockets +2000
Brooklyn Nets +2500
Chicago Bulls +4000
Portland Trail Blazers +4000
Dallas Mavericks +6500
Washington Wizards +15000
Atlanta Hawks +25000
Charlotte Bobcats +25000
