Texas Rangers (lead series 3-2)
Colby Lewis (0-0    1.35 ERA)

Game 5 looked in doubt early with a 2-0 deficit to the Cardinals ace Chris Carpenter, but a late-game rally led by a Mike Napoli’s two-run double in the eighth inning help lift the Rangers to the 4-2 victory as 130 home favorites.

Texas will try and seal the deal with right-hander Colby Lewis on the mound. He took a no-decision in Game 2 after going 6 2/3 innings while yielding just one run on four hits. He is now 1-1 in this year’s playoffs with an ERA of 2.95. This season he went 14-10 with a 4.40 ERA.

St. Louis Cardinals (trail series 2-3)
Jaime Garcia (0-0   0.00 ERA)

The St. Louis Cardinals’ dream run in the postseason is now just one loss away from turning into a nightmare after blowing a two-run lead on Monday night and possibly the chance at winning one of the most improbable world titles in recent memory. While an apparent miscommunication between manager Tony La Russa and his bullpen caused the wrong pitcher to be on the mound during the Rangers’ rally, the Cardinal bats are as much to blame for Monday night’s loss as well. St. Louis went 1-for-12 with runners in scoring position, which is no way to win championships.

If St. Louis is going to force a Game 7 at home, it will need another strong effort from Jaime Garcia on Wednesday night. He pitched seven innings of shutout baseball in Game 2 while allowing just three hits. This postseason, Garcia is 0-2 with an ERA of 3.97, which was slightly higher than his regular season ERA of 3.56.

The Pick:

This World Series has had more twists and turns than a Grand Prix race track as each team has come up with the big hit or big out when they needed to the most. Given the fact that Garcia has been a force at home this season and that destiny seems to dictate this series go the full seven games; stick with the Cardinals to even things up with a win in Game 6

St. Louis 5 vs. Texas 3
