The Jays continued their strong run with a ninth inning victory in the series opener of this important AL matchup.

Game two gives the Jays a great chance to continue building their winning streak.

Toronto

It looked like the Jays were going to see their three game winning streak come to an end last night but they conjured up some more magic in the ninth scoring two to win. The only surprise is that it wasn’t a big fly that got the job done.

As a result of the victory and the Yankees loss they are now a full game up in the AL East.

The Jays are playing great and winning every way imaginable, perhaps even when they shouldn’t. I didn’t run the numbers myself but they have not been this many games over .500 since their last title in 1993.

Still more work to do on Wednesday.

Since coming over from the Tigers David Price has been all you could ask for an more.
[dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
He has a 3-0 record with a 1.78 ER with the team and the Jays are 3-1 in games he has started.

If he keeps it up he has to be on the short list of Cy Young candidates in my opinion.

The best thing about Price is that nothing seems to phase him. He has been awesome on the road this season, no matter what uniform he is wearing, and has given up more than 3ER just once in his last 9 starts.

On a team like Toronto he is going to be very tough to beat. The perfect pitcher to extend a winning streak.

Texas Rangers

Despite blowing it late last night the Rangers still enter Wednesday with a small half game lead over the Angels in the Wild Card race.

I honestly have no clue how they are winning of late so I am wondering if we might start to see a significant slide. Last night’s loss is the exact kind that can linger and they have four teams nipping at their heels.

They need their biggest winner to be strong tonight.

You probably didn’t know it but that would be Colby Lewis who is tied for second in the AL with 14 victories.

His peripherals are definitely not great but he is giving his team a chance to win. One more and it will be a career high.

He has to keep the ball in the ballpark against the Jays, which is easier said than done. If he does maybe the Rangers can pull off the upset.

4* MLB Betting Prediction: Toronto ML

The streaking Jays are the play tonight. Unfortunately with Price going, even on the road, there is not a ton of value.

MLB Baseball Score Prediction: Toronto 6 – Texas 3

Maybe look at the run line with Toronto tonight too. Better price and still a great shot.
