The Dodgers have to keep winning divisional matchups if they want to hang in the National League West race. Despite some recent struggles versus the Giants, L.A. is 27-14 in its own division this year.
San Diego’s Kevin Correia isn’t anything special and he serves up too many homers but he’s at least fairly consistent. Correia has posted quality starts in four of his last five tries. But is he in trouble tonight?
He has a 5.98 road ERA this season. He struggles historically against multiple Dodger hitters – especially Andre Ethier, who bats .533 off him in 15 career at-bats. 
Chad Billingsley really looks like an ace again of late. He’s posted 21. 2 innings of shutout ball over his last three starts.
The man also loves facing the Padres. Billingsley is 10-4 all-time against them with a 2.36 ERA and just six homers allowed in 103 innings.
Given Billingsley’s hot streak and strong history, not to mention Correia’s road struggles, the Dodgers make sense tonight.
