New York is facing injury issues early in 2009.
Carlos Delgado (hip) and Jose Reyes (calf) will probably miss the game Sunday. Beltran, Wright and Sheffield have picked up the slack offensively though. The biggest loss is on defense where Jeremy Reed and Alex Cora fill in for the injured stars. Mike Pelfrey will look to improve on his 4-0 start to 2009. He is being more efficient getting hitters out, thus allowing him to go deeper in games. Look for Pelfrey to go 7 and turn it over to Putz and K-Rod for the hold and save.
The surprising Giants are .500 on the year but have dropped their last 4, including the last 3 to the Mets. They turn to the solid right hander Matt Cain for Sunday Night Baseball. Cain has only given up 3 ER in 3 starts on the road in 2009. San Fran has struggled scoring runs at time ranking 13 out of 16 in the NL. They have the least amount of HR’s in the NL. Look for youngster Pablo Sandoval to spark the SF scoring attack.

I think the Giants find a way to win tonight to avoid the sweep and losing a 5th straight game. They are a better team then their record suggests.
