Chicago White Sox vs. Minnesota Twins Preview

1. The White Sox have the fewest road wins in the American League.
2. The Twins have lost 2 in a row and 6 of their last 10 games.
3. The Twins are tied with the Blue Jays and Astros for the most home wins in the American League.

This season the Twins are 23-13 at home and the White Sox are 12-23 on the road.

In their last games the White Sox beat the Texas Rangers 3-2 and the Twins lost to the Chicago Cubs 8-0,

The White Sox have rebounded from losing 8 straight to win their last 2 games, but they still sit in the basement of the AL Central 10 games back of the Kansas City Royals. They head into Minnesota for the first game of a 3-game series where they are the road underdog, which is not surprising since they have lost their last 6 road games.

The Twins are 4-6 in their last 10 games and they sit in 2nd place in the AL Central 3.5 games back of the Royals.

The Twins have won 6 of their last 7 games facing the White Sox and are 5-0 in their last 5 home games against them. No big shock Chicago is 8-games under. 500, as they only ranks 29th in runs scored and 23rd in team ERA.

The Twins rank in the middle of the pack (18th) in runs scored. However, their offense has been struggling as of late and in losing 10 of their last 15 games they have batted .223 as a team and averaged 2.5 runs in that span.

Tommy Milone has already beaten the White Sox earlier this season when he went 7 innings only giving up 2 hits and no earned runs in a 6-0 Twins win. In his last outing he only gave up 1 earned run in 7 innings of work in a 3-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. He has not given up more than 2 runs in each of his last 3 starts where the Twins have won twice.

John Danks went 7 innings and gave up 3 earned runs in his last outing in a 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. The White Sox have lost their last 3 games and 5 of their last 6 when he has gotten the starting nod.

Danks has not had much success facing the Twins going 1-8 with an ERA of 6.78 in his last 11 starts against them. He was shelled in his lone start against them this season, as he only lasted 2 innings in a 13-3 loss.

The White Sox are 2-12 in Danks’ last 14 road starts against the Twins.

4* Cappers MLB Free Pick

White the Minnesota offense has been struggling I am still going with them in this game, as Milone will have a good outing while Danks will not and the Twins will take Game 1 of this division series.
