San Francisco

The Giants are just a game away from their third championship in the last five seasons. If MadBum were on the mound this thing would practically be over but as it is they can take a breath in on Tuesday instead of facing elimination.

Clearly Bumgarner has been the difference between these teams so far so it will be interesting to see if the Giants can close this thing out with him waiting on the sidelines holding a six pack. I hear no talk of him starting Game Seven so they may have to.

In a rematch of game two the Giants will run out Jake Peavy, who got hit hard in his last start. With a game to spare it will be interesting to see how San Francisco responds if it is happening again on Tuesday. Peavy hasn’t had the greatest of luck against some of the Royals hitters and probably wouldn’t be on the mound if there were an elimination game. They just want him to make to the sixt.

Kansas City

The Royals may be down three games to two in the series but they have one thing going for them – Madison Bumgarner will not be on the mound in Game Six.

In 11 other playoff games the Royals have played where other pitchers have started they are 10-1 so you have to like their odds of extending their season to at least a Game Seven, especially being at home. It is do or die time and they should expect a strong effort from their club on Tuesday night. Just a little bit of offense is probably all they need.

With everything on the line the Royals turn to Yordano Ventura in a situation that is pretty similar to his start in game two. If he can give the the six innings they need the Royals chances of pushing this thing further are good.

The bullpen will be rested too with the of day so maybe even five innings might get the job done. He held up well in his last start so there is no reason to expect anything different.

The Royals just have to force a Game Seven don’t they.

4* FREE MLB Score prediction: Kansas City 5 – San Francisco 1

Not as much value backing them tonight as others but it certainly feels right.
