Free MLB Pick: Royals vs. Yankees Betting Lines & Preview

Royals vs Yankees Pick

MLB Baseball betting action sees the Kansas City Royals taking on the New York Yankees Tuesday May 26th at Yankee Stadium in Bronx, NY. Cappers Picks provides free MLB Baseball handicapping tips all season long.

Whenever a team gets seriously pounded in a series game, there is usually some correction in the following match-up. There had better be plenty of correction for the visiting Royals, who got pounded 14-1 on Monday by the Bronx Bombers.

To say Jeremy Guthrie, yesterday’s starter for KC, got roughed up is a gross understatement.

Guthrie got tagged for a career-high 11 earned runs in just over an inning as the Yanks had their way with the visitors early and the Royals showed little push back.

Kansas City (28-16) still sits tops in the AL Central division, but it won’t for long with those kind of performances.

To be fair, the Royals had a five-game win streak snapped earlier in the weekend by the St. Louis Cardinals, but in the Central, the Twins are on a roll currently and the Cleveland Indians also seem to be finding their footing.

Throw in the perennially-dangerous Detroit Tigers, and the division is no picnic in 2015.

The Yanks (23-22) may have just been releasing frustration on Monday night, as they had lost six consecutive ballgames before they crushed Kansas City.

New York’s pitching has been predictably nauseating, but it covers some of its flaws with a dangerous offense spear-headed by OF Brett Gardner and a renaissance year for 1B/DH Mark Teixeira (13 HR, 31 RBI, 28 BBs) and headline-grabber Alex Rodriguez (10 HR).

The 2015 Yankees are very much the Yankees, in all their decorated bravado and loatheability (for many).

Yet, at merely a game over .500 – pathetically good for second in the AL East – New York hasn’t built much of a record to back it up.

That’s all right: A-Rod should be setting records all season long.

The visitors clearly need exponentially better pitching from Jason Vargas tonight, a veteran with a proven track record but only a 5.26 ERA to date. He must get his game in order.

Kansas City is dangerous as it made the World Series last year on the strength of hitting for average and being aggressive on the basepaths. It mightn’t be the Billy Beane approach, but it makes for entertaining baseball.

I predict that KC will get the bats going on Tuesday night in the Bronx, as the Royals will desperately want to erase the memory of Monday’s trouncing.

Yankees starter Adam Warren must bring his A-1 performance tonight, as the Royals’ capable hitters will be hacking.

Baseball is often predictable in its meandering, marathon-like season and I expect tonight’s game in Yankee Stadium to be a representation of that.
