For Colorado’s part, if the Rock can mash like they did in Game 1 away from Coors Field, maybe they will be better than everyone thinks – provided the stars can stay off the disabled list.

Pretty much everyone got in the action offensively for Colorado yesterday, but the brightest spot was young 3B Nolan Arenado. He provides not only stellar defense – perhaps challenging Toronto’s Josh Donaldson and Oakland’s Brett Lawrie for best in the league at third base – but proved yesterday that his bat is dangerous, too.

Colorado’s fortunes tonight and this season depend on the health of Arenado as well as superstars like SS Troy Tulowitzki and OF Carlos Gonzalez. The Rockies basically lived on the DL last year, and it showed in their abysmal record in the NL West.

A little health could go a long way for this club.

In the other dugout, the Brewers need to just wipe the opening game from their memory and come out swinging the bats on Tuesday night. Despite upgrades, the Colorado rotation can still be had, and Milwaukee has the kind of hitters to capitalize.

Stud OF Carlos Gomez did nothing yesterday, but expect him to wake out of his slumber. A (hopefully) healthy and (hopefully) rejuvenated OF Ryan Braun is a monster at the dish; the Brew will need his run production.

Catcher Jonathan Lucroy is among MLB’s best at the position with the bat, exhibiting defense and calling a game. He’s a crucial component of Milwaukee’s hopes in 2015.

In terms of pitching, Milwaukee’s Garza has shown ups and downs throughout his career, but he was on an upswing in 2014. He joins Mike Fiers as the team’s best options as far as arms are concerned.

For Colorado, Jordan Lyles pitches better on the road than at home (who doesn’t when your home park is the high-altitude Coors Field) but Nolan Ryan he is not.

As is often the case in baseball, a team will rebound after a humiliating performance with a win. I could definitely see this being the case on Tuesday night in Milwaukee, especially with the home side playing a team as inconsistent as Colorado.

Over the past couple of seasons, the Rockies have shown they can go on winning streaks, but have also exhibited unpardonable losing skids in the process.
