The red hot Jays are looking to close out the Twins as they solidify their playoff position.

Minnesota

The Twins could certainly have used a lift at the deadline but wouldn’t budge on selling off some of their future. As a result they are not able to sustain their impressive start and are slowly fading out of contention. I know it may only be a few games but it feels like there is a much bigger gap between them and the Jays.

Thursday is their last chance to stop the bleeding and regain some ground. I am not fortune teller but it is not hard to see their current slump coming.

Starter Kyle Gibson has been all over the map for Minnesota this season. At times he has been very sharp and a big part of their success but at others, not so much. He Still walks too many batters for a guy with his stuff and needs to do a better job keeping the ball in the park. He was reasonably effective in a previous start against the Jays but power teams have had success against him this season.

Toronto

No team did more before the deadline and the results speak for themselves. After three straight wins the Jays are currently in the second Wild Card spot in the AL but the way they are playing they can definitely get back in the race in the AL East.

After finishing with Minnesota they are off to the Bronx for the first of 13 games still remaining against the Yankees. Those are the games that will determine just how good their regular season can be. There is still a lot of time left on the clock so to speak and the Jays are gaining on the field.

Mark Buehrle isn’t sexy out there but you will be hard pressed to find a more consistent hurler. I didn’t say ace I said consistent. He has pitched 200 or more innings for 14 straight seasons heading into this one and only once has had a losing record.

This season he is having one of his better years just doing what he does. Pitching to contact, keeping the ball in the park and barely walking anybody. He has just one walk in his last six starts. He is the perfect pitcher for a team with lots of offense.

4* MLB Betting Prediction:

The Jays are rolling right now but everybody knows it.

MLB Baseball Score Prediction: Toronto 6 – Minnesota 4

The Jays are starting to see their value eroding, which is too bad. They are super fun to watch though.
