These teams don’t often meet, but it typically means trouble for the Blue Jays when they do.

This series actually marks the first time the teams have met since a blockbuster trade from November 2012 in which Toronto shipped Yunel Escobar, Adeiny Hechavarria, Henderson Alvarez, Anthony DeSclafani, Justin Nicolino, Jeff Mathis, and Jake Marisnick to Miami in exchange for Jose Reyes, Mark Buehrle, Josh Johnson, John Buck, and Emilio Bonifacio.

The Marlins have never lost a series at Rogers Centre, winning 10 of 12 games there.

Their .833 winning percentage in Toronto is their top winning percentage at any ballpark, and their 18-6 all-time record against the Blue Jays is their best winning percentage (.750) against any team.

But they catch a red hot Blue Jays team, which has won a season-high five consecutive games after coming back to beat the Houston Astros 7-6 on Sunday.

The team completed its three-game sweep of the Astros with a three-run ninth inning that was capped off by a walk-off two-run single by Chris Colabello.

The hit extended Colabello’s career-best hitting streak to 17 games, which also represents the longest active run in the bigs.

Slugger Jose Bautista also clubbed a pair of solo bombs, giving him four home runs in four games. He is batting .405 over the course a his 11-game hitting streak.

His career-best is a 13-game hitting streak, which he can match with a hit in each game of this series.

As a team, the Blue Jays are averaging seven runs and hitting .310 over the course of their winning streak. First baseman Edwin Encarnacion missed Sunday’s game after receiving a cortisone shot in his ailing left shoulder which he says has been bothering him for two weeks. He’s expected to make an attempt at playing Monday.

The Blue Jays send out Marco Estrada in this one. He guided the Blue Jays to a victory in the back end of their doubleheader against the Washington Nationals, allowing three runs (two earned) over six innings. The Marlins counter with Brad Hand, who has allowed only two runs in 11 innings since moving into the team’s rotation.

FREE Marlins vs. Blue Jays Pick:

Toronto simply has not played well enough to warrant this kind of love from oddsmakers. Estrada hasn’t fared particularly well against the Marlins in his career, going 1-2 with a 6.44 ERA in nine career appearances (four starts). With that said, both pitchers are in good form and should each find a way to log some quality innings for their respective clubs.

The play: Miami +147, Under 9
