The White Sox look to avoid losing the series at home tonight against Cleveland. A win gets them back to .500.

Cleveland

The Indians have won the last two and might be turning a corner.

Corey Kluber seems to have found his game again and this club has more than enough pitching if the offense comes together.

There are still too many in the lineup who are having down seasons. Michael Bourn has been dropped from the leadoff role and Carlos Santana is no even hitting his weight.

Only two regulars on this club have an average over .230. They just need to get a little better if they want to win more ball games.

There is no doubt that Danny Salazar has great stuff. In fact if you look just at his peripherals he might be the best pitcher on a very good staff. For example he has struck out 52 batters while walking only 6 this season.

His bugaboo is the long ball, he has actually given up more homers than free passes this season, which is pretty rare.

On any day he can dominate and get a win.

Chicago

Expectations are high in Chicago.

They made moves to bridge the gap between them and the Tigers and Royals probably never expecting they would have to track down the Twins too.

They enter Thursday looking to split the series and get back to .500 for the season.

Like Cleveland the White Sox need to get more offensive production, new additions Melky Cabrera and Adam LaRoche have not been very good and even though Jose Abreu’s numbers are solid he has not been as fearsome.

There was a time when John Danks had promise but those days are long gone. Actually it is kind of interesting they are keeping him around because the White Sox have no shortage of lefties and he has been the least effective.

That being said his last two starts have been his best of the season. He has been better at home which is surprising because the home park is very hitter friendly.

4* Free MLB Betting Prediction:  Cleveland -125

I feel way more comfortable backing the burgeoning Salazar than Danks.

MLB Score Prediction:  Cleveland 4 – Chicago 3

Both teams have had their offensive struggles so don’t expect to see an offensive explosion.
