The Chicago White Sox will look to extend their winning streak to seven, when the host the Cleveland Indians in Game 2 of four-game set on Tuesday in Chicago.

After a dismal start, the White Sox (18-17) are playing their best baseball of the season, and started a seven-game homestand on Monday by extending their current win streak to six, with a 2-1 10th inning win over the visiting Indians.

Chicago entered the series with nine victories in its past 12 games, including a three-game sweep at Oakland over the weekend that improved its record to 17-17, the first time it has been at .500 since June 11 of last season.

Still the ChiSox are in fourth place in their division, but just 1.5 game out of third and 4.5 behind division leader Kansas City.

Jose Abreu leads the team, and entered the Cleveland series batting .340 (16-for-47), while extending his hitting streak to 13, going 1-for-4 on Monday. He has driven in seven runs during the stretch.

Meanwhile, Cleveland (14-23) arrived in Chicago on Monday with a 14-22 record, last in their division, with the second worst overall record in the AL.

A preseason American League Central favorite, the Tribe has not lived up to that expectation, with an uncharacteristically slow start to the season.

They did however, win two of three from the Texas Rangers over the past weekend, for their first series victory since their season-opening three-game set against the Houston Astros.

The Indians’ are lead offensively by center fielder Michael Brantley, who has a .336 batting average, but was held hitless in Game 1.

The White Sox have not lost a home series all season, taking two of three from the Twins, Royals, Tigers Reds and the Indians. They will look to keep that trend intact by sending Jose Quintana to the mound on Tuesday.

The lefty struck out 10, while allowing only one run and four hits in seven innings to pick up his second win of the season on Wednesday against Milwaukee, ending his 0-2 skid in his last three starts.

The Tribe will counter with right-hander Trevor Bauer in Game 1. The 24-year-old pitched a no decision his last time out, despite striking out 10 and allowing just one run over 7.1 innings against the Cardinals.

He gave up four hits and three walks and needs to do a better job limiting his bases on balls.

He is 1-0 in two in two starts against the White Sox this season, with a 1.38 ERA, surrendering eight hits with 15 strikeouts in 13 innings.
