MLB Betting Parlay – Tigers vs. Indians, Twins vs. White Sox

MLB Betting Previews- Tuesday, May 16 Parlay

The 2012 MLB regular season has been a bit unpredictable so far with teams like Baltimore and Cleveland leading their respective division, while teams such as Philadelphia, Boston, and the Los Angeles Angels are bringing up the rear in theirs.

This has made handicapping the games all that much harder, but after sifting through all the pertinent stats and information available for the pitching matchups on Tuesday’s slate of games, we uncovered a two-team parlay that promises to get this week off to a great start.

Game 1- Detroit Tigers vs. Cleveland Indians
Money Line: Detroit +110 Cleveland -115
Total Line: 8

The Detroit Tigers kick-off a three-game set with Cleveland this Tuesday night with Rick Porcello on the mound. The right-hander is 3-3 on the year with a 5.12 ERA. He is coming off a poor showing against Minnesota last Wednesday but that could be a good sign considering he has followed a bad start with a strong outing his next time out all season long. Porcello is 5-1 with an ERA of 3.86 against the Indians.

Cleveland will go with Ubaldo Jimenez has its starter for Tuesday night. This right-hander is 4-3 over his first eight outings and has an ERA of 5.09 and a 1.70 WHIP. He has given-up 10 earned runs on 14 hits in his last 10.1 innings pitched. Jimenez is 2-5 against the Tigers with a 6.18 ERA.

The Tigers are 10-1 in the last 10 meetings overall and 4-0 in their last four games in Cleveland. They are also 9-3 in Porcello’s last 12 starts against the Indians. Detroit is about as solid of a pick you will find to anchor the front-end of this parlay. [dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Game 2- Minnesota Twins vs. Chicago White Sox
Money Line: Minnesota +120 Chicago -135
Total Line: 7.5

Minnesota will send P.J. Walters to the mound for Game 1 of this three-game series. He picked-up his first win since the 2010 season this past Thursday against Detroit by holding the Tigers to three runs on four hits in just over six innings of work. The right-hander is now 1-1 on the year with a 3.65 ERA.

Gavin Floyd will get the call for Chicago. He is 3-4 on the year with a ERA of 3.44 and 1.05 WHIP. The right-hander is coming off his worst outing of the year; giving-up seven earned runs on 10 hits in a loss to the Los Angeles Angels. This is after giving-up a combined four earned runs in his previous four starts. Floyd is 4-10 with an ERA of 5.67 lifetime against the Twins.

The Twins are 17-5 in their last 22 trips to US Cellular Field. The White Sox are 0-7 in Floyd’s last seven starts against Minnesota making the Twins the perfect back-end play of this AL Central two-team parlay.
