MLB Betting Parlay – Reds vs. Braves + Rockies vs. Giants

MLB Betting Previews- Tuesday, May 15 Parlay

The 2012 MLB regular season heads into the second half of May with a couple surprising front-runners leading the pack in a few divisions while some of the preseason favorites continue to try and turn things around.

Game 1- Cincinnati Reds vs. Atlanta Braves
Money Line: Cincinnati +105 Atlanta -115
Total Line: 7.5

After sifting through all the pertinent facts and figures for the matchups on Tuesday’s slate of games, we uncovered a two-team parlay that promises to get this week off to a great start.

The Reds will send new-found ace Johnny Cueto to the mound in this one. The right-hander is off to a blazing 4-0 start with a miniscule 1.12 ERA. He has not given-up a run in his last 16 innings and has allowed just one run in his last 23. Cueto is 1-1 against the Braves with a 3.08 ERA.

Tim Hudson will get the call for Atlanta on Tuesday night. He is coming off a stinging 1-0 loss to Chicago after holding the Cubs hitless through six full innings before giving-up the losing run in the seventh. This right-hander is 1-1 on the year with an ERA of 4.50. He is 3-1 with a 3.19 ERA lifetime against the Reds.

Cincinnati is 6-2 in Cueto’s last eight starts on the road and 5-2 in its last seven road games overall. The Braves are 3-7 in Hudson’s last 10 starts against the NL Central. The Reds have won five of the last eight meetings heading into Monday’s matchup. Stick with Cueto’s smoking hot arm to shutdown Atlanta for the win. Game 2- Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants
Money Line: Colorado +135 San Francisco -150
Total Line: 7

The Rockies will look to Jeremy Guthrie to try and help secure a hard-to-come-by win on the road. The right-hander is 2-1 this season with a 5.92 ERA. This will be his first start since April 22 after going on the DL with a right shoulder injury. Guthrie is 0-1 with a 9.64 ERA in limited action against the Giants.

San Francisco will go with Tim Lincecum has its starter on Tuesday night. This season has not been the one of the Giants’ ace best efforts with an overall ERA of 5.89 and a 2-3 record in seven starts, but he is showing signs of coming around especially at home. The right-hander has an ERA of 8.15 on the road this season, but a much more respectable 3.79 ERA at home. He is 8-6 against the Rockies with an ERA of 3.69.

Colorado is 1-8 in its last nine games overall and 1-7 in its last seven road games heading into Monday night’s game against the Giants. San Francisco is 10-4 in Lincecum’s last 14 starts in Game 2 of a series. The Rockies are 7-19 in the last 26 meetings and 2-9 in their last 11 games in San Francisco. Pick-up the easy back-end of this parlay by taking the Giants at home.
