MLB Betting Parlay – Indians vs. Reds, Angels vs. Dodgers

MLB Betting Previews- Tuesday, June 12 Parlay

The second round of the 2012 MLB regular season Interleague Play kicked-off this past weekend and continues for the next two weeks. Handicapping these games always becomes a challenge with starting pitchers facing unfamiliar batting lineups.

While this unpredictability might sometimes act as a deterrent for wagering on the games, we have pored over all pertinent stats and information available for the pitching matchups on Tuesday’s slate of games and uncovered a two-team parlay that promises to get this week off to a great start.

Game 1- Cleveland Indians vs. Cincinnati Reds
Money Line: Cleveland +120 Cincinnati -135
Total Line: 8.5

The Cleveland Indians will go with Jeanmar Gomez as their starter for Game 1 in the battle for bragging rights in the state of Ohio. The right-hander is 4-4 on the year with a 4.97 ERA in 10 previous starts. Despite giving-up six earned runs to the Tigers his last time out, Gomez notched the win with some solid run support.

Johnny Cueto will be on the mound for Cincinnati. The right-hander returned to form in his last start after getting rough-up in his previous two outings. Overall, he is 6-3 with an ERA of 2.63 in 12 previous starts. Cueto is 2-0 with a 2.49 ERA lifetime against the Indians.

The Reds are a perfect 4-0 in Cueto’s last four starts against Cleveland. The Indians are 6-1 in the last seven meetings but just 4-9 in their last 13 games in Cincinnati. With Cueto on the mound look for the Reds to draw first blood in this series to fill-in the front-end of this parlay. [dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Game 2- Los Angeles Angels vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
Money Line: Angels +125 Dodgers -145
Total Line: 8

The Angels are back in the thick of the AL West division race and will look to Jerome Williams to anchor the second game of this three-game set on the mound. The right-hander is coming off one of his worst outings of the season after a going on a five-game tear where he only gave-up a total of nine earned runs. He is 6-3 overall with a 4.03 ERA.

Aaron Harang is slated to get the start for the Dodgers. He turned in another quality start his last time out to move his record on the year to 5-3. The right-hander has an ERA of 3.95 through 12 previous starts to go along with a 1.36 WHIP. He has given-up three or less earned runs in six of his last seven starts.

The Angels are 9-3 in the last 12 meetings heading into Game 1 of this series on Monday night. They have won six of the last seven meetings on the road. This game should feature an excellent matchup on the mound, but stick with Williams to have the better night as the Angels fill-in the back-end of this parlay with the win.
