MLB Betting Parlay – Tigers vs. Athletics + Blue Jays vs. Twins

MLB Betting Previews- Thursday May 10 Parlay

This weekend’s MLB schedule is filled with a number of interesting matchups featuring some surprising front runners along with a few favorites that continue to try and make-up ground from a slow start.

After crunching the stats for the matchups for Thursday’s slate of games, we uncovered a two-team parlay that promises jump-start your weekend.

Game 1- Toronto Blue Jays vs. Minnesota Twins
Money Line: Toronto -125 Minnesota +110
Total Line: 8.5

Henderson Alvarez is slated to get the start for Toronto. He is coming off his first career shutout and second career complete game in a win over the Angels this past Friday. This marks the right-hander’s fifth quality outing in his first six starts. He is now 2-2 with a 2.83 ERA on the year.

Jason Marquis is scheduled to be on the mound for Minnesota. In his last outing against Seattle, he gave-up two runs on just four hits in six innings of work, but issued six walks while battling some control issues. The right-hander is 2-1 on the year with a 5.40 ERA. He is 1-1 against Toronto with an ERA of 4.15.

The Blue Jays are just 2-5 in Alvarez’s last seven starts but 13-3 in their last 16 games in Minnesota. The Twins are 17-35 in Game 1 of their last 52 series. Despite Toronto’s record with Alvarez on the mound, his current form against a team that has won just eight games all season will be enough to secure the win. Game 2- Detroit Tigers vs. Oakland Athletics
Money Line: Detroit +105 Oakland -110
Total Line: 8

Max Scherzer is expected to be on the mound for Detroit. He is just 1-3 on the year with an ERA of 6.32, but turned in a solid outing against the White Sox his last time out in which he gave-up one run on four hits in seven innings of work. The right-hander is 1-1 against the Athletics with a 4.22 ERA.

Oakland will go with Bartolo Colon as its starter in this one. The right-hander got bounced around by Tampa Bay his last time out; giving-up three earned runs and eight hits in just five innings. He is now 3-2 on the year but still boasting a 2.83 ERA. Lifetime against the Tigers, Colon is 7-8 with an ERA of 5.32.

The Tigers are 1-4 in Scherzer’s last five starts and 2-5 in their last seven games against a team with a winning record. Oakland is 5-1 in its last six games and have won four of its last five games at home.

The A’s are 5-3 in the last eight meetings overall and 4-2 in the last six games against Detroit at home.

Oakland stays hot at the Tigers’ expense to successfully fill-in the back-end of Thursday’s parlay.
