MLB Betting Parlay – Diamondbacks vs. Padres + Pirates vs. Dodgers

MLB Betting Previews- Thursday, April 12 Parlay

There is a full slate of Major League games on this Thursday’s schedule, but we poured over the current lines in search of a golden opportunity to parlay two of them into a winning combination. The following is look at two matchups that fit the bill.

Game 1- Arizona Diamondbacks (4-0) vs. San Diego Padres (1-4)
Money Line: Arizona + 105       San Diego-115
Total Line: 7

Arizona will try and build on its fast start with Ian Kennedy on the mound. He held San Francisco to three runs over 6 2/3 innings on opening day to get the win, but by his own admission felt he did not have his best command. In three starts last season against the Padres, Kennedy went 3-0 with a 1.74 ERA.

San Diego will go with right hander Anthony Bass as its starter in place of Dustin Moseley, who is currently on the DL with a shoulder injury. Bass is coming off a strong spring training and was expected to fill a spot in the rotation at some point this season.

This will be his fourth career MLB start.

The Diamondbacks have won 12 of the last 19 games in this series heading into Wednesday night’s game and have the clear edge on the mound in this one. Look for Kennedy to extend his current winning streak over the Padres to four with the win.

Game 2- Pittsburgh Pirates (2-2) vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (4-1)
Money Line: Pittsburgh+155      Los Angeles -165
Total Line: 7.5

Jeff Karstens will be making his second start in Pittsburgh’s new-look rotation.[dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

While he did not get the decision in last Saturday’s game against the Phillies, he surrendered just one earned run on five hits in six innings of work. Last season he started 26 games for the Pirates and went 9-9 with an ERA of 3.38.

Karstens is 0-2 against the Dodgers with a 5.21 ERA.

Los Angeles is expected to send left-hander Chris Capuano to the mound. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings in his first outing this season; giving-up four earned runs and five walks against San Diego.

He started 31 games for the Mets last season and went 11-12 with a 4.55 ERA. He is 4-7 lifetime against the Pirates with an ERA of 5.99.

The Dodgers won the season series last year 6-2 and carved-out a 2-1 victory in the first game of this three-game series, but stick with Karstens to turn in another strong outing to lead the Pirates to a win in Thursday night’s finale.
