Huge UW fan myself Terry. Hoping to see Jake take it to the next level. I'd rather see him make it in football than baseball...I think Sark gets this team turned around FAST!

Washington. Re: 18 returning starters. The question asked; but are starters off an 0-12 team really valuable.

These 18 returning starters are coming off a team which had a lame duck coach whom had been fired but inexplicably allowed to finish out the season. They were out of shape, had no motivation, no direction, and lacking quality coaching. If this were the existing condition the question of 'value' would be rhetorical.

However, Coach Sark and defensive coordinator Holt both pilfered from USC have whipped these guys into excellent shape, inspired them with the 'we can play with anybody' attitude, and are coaching them with not only wanting to win but teaching them how to win.

QB Jake Locker has been tamed and trained. Before leaving U.W. handing the reigns over to Nick Montana, he wants two bowl games. His completion rate has inpoved and his run-at-will mentality has been eliminated.

Can 18 returning starters from an 0-12 team be of value? What do you think?
