NBA Hot UNDER teams – The Knicks anybody

The NBA sports betting season is in full swing, and the following teams have been red hot for NBA ‘Under’ bettors at BetUS Sportsbook throughout the last week of action:

(RANK) (TEAM) (SU RECORD) (O/U RECORD) (O/U RECORD L/5 +$$)

1) Charlotte Bobcats (16-25) (16-23 O/U) (1-4 O/U L/5 +$290): Along with being one of the more lucrative ATS teams in the league, the Bobcats have been NBA betting gold for ‘under’ bettors throughout the first half of their 2008-09 sports betting schedule. After playing to the ‘over’ in three straight at the beginning of January, the Bobcats have cashed ‘under’ bettors tickets in four of their last five overall games played. Makes sense considering they boast the leagues worst ranked offense (#30) that averages just over 91 PPG, and the #6 ranked defense allowing opponents just under 94 PPG. Scoring should be at a minimum against the punchless Grizzlies on 1/21, but the Bobcats could increase its scoring average by a couple points against both Phoenix and Indiana to close out the week.

2) New York Knicks (14-22) (14-22 O/U) (1-4 O/U L/5 +$290): Things just haven’t gone as originally planned with Mike D’Antoni coming over from the desert to install his frenzied offensive attack in the “Big Apple.”

With the Knicks boasting the 6th ranked offensive attack that averages just under 103 PPG and the league’s 27th ranked defense allowing opponents to tickle the twine for an average 106+ PPG, you’d expect the ‘over’ to have made a killing in Knicks games this season. Unfortunately, quite the opposite has rung true as the ‘under’ has been a profitable investment in NY Knicks games all season long. They did manage to hit the high side of a ‘total’ in their first meeting with Washington last week, but each of their next three games all cashed ‘under’ bettors tickets. The ‘under’ is a $$$-making 10-1 ATS since December 30th, but Wednesday night’s meeting with the Suns looks to be a high scorer. Those looking to ride the Knicks ‘under’ moneytrain should jump back on later in the week…

3) New Orleans Hornets (25-13) (15-22 O/U) (1-4 O/U L/5 +$290): The Hornets haven’t been able to get it done quite like they did a year ago in the pointspread department, but they’ve been a solid investment for ‘total’ bettors looking to play the low side of the number all season long. Last week saw them play to the ‘under’ in four of their five games after getting outscored by an average score of 95-94.2. CP3 hit a huge three at the buzzer to get them past Indiana their last time out, but the 103-100 final combined to go ‘under’ the 208-point closing ‘total.’ New Orleans has seen the ‘under’ cash in 11 of its 18 home games this season, and in 11 of its 20 road games. They’ll host New Jersey before hitting the road for Minnesota to close out the week.

4) Cleveland Cavaliers (11-27) (20-18 O/U) (1-4 O/U L/5 +$290): Injuries have started to pile up on the Cavs roster, and because of it, Lebron and Mo Williams have been burdened with carrying the offense. Cleveland’s offense currently ranks 10th averaging just over 100 PPG, but they only hit the 100-point plateau once last week against a Grizzlies team running on fumes. With the offense struggling to carry its weight and a defense that ranks #1 in the league allowing just 89.4 PPG, look to continue hammering Cavs under’s until they get some of the walking wounded back in the rotation.

And the rest…..

5) Washington Wizards (8-32) (15-23 O/U) (1-4 O/U L/5 +$290)

6) Detroit Pistons (23-17) (15-24 O/U) (1-4 O/U L/5 +$290)
