East Carolina Looks to Snap Three-Game Skid against Memphis Tigers

While the Memphis Tigers (3-4 SU, 2-3-1 ATS, 4-2 O/U), are coming off a heart-breaking 35-28 home loss to in-state rival Louisville on Friday, their recent troubles are nothing when compared to those of the East Carolina Pirates (3-3 SU, 2-4 ATS, 5-1 O/U), losers of three straight games in the BetUS Sportsbook.

Both teams will be looking to get back in the win column on Saturday when they battle at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.

Memphis failed to cover as 6-point road underdogs despite the fact that junior quarterback Arkelon Hall completed 33 of 55 passes for threw for 350 yards with two touchdowns, while adding one touchdown run and another TD reception.

East Carolina’s most recent loss was a 35-20 road defeat to Virginia on Saturday as senior quarterback Patrick Pinkney was held to 12 of 28 passing for 196 yards and one touchdown.

Cappers Tigers vs. Pirates Betting Trends + PickRunning back Jonathan Williams rushed for 95 yards on 19 attempts with one touchdown, but the Pirates allowed Virginia running back Cedric Peerman to run for 173 yards on just 16 carries with two touchdowns while failing to cover as 6-point road favorites.

Here is a look at the key trends for each team, followed by my in-depth analysis and NCAAF Free Picks.

The total has gone OVER in 9 of Memphis’s last 13 games on the road
Memphis is 4-2 SU in its last 6 games on the road
Memphis is 1-4 SU in its last 5 games when playing on the road against East Carolina
Memphis is 0-5 ATS in its last 5 games when playing on the road against East Carolina
East Carolina is 5-0 ATS in its last 5 games when playing Memphis
East Carolina is 5-0 ATS in its last 5 games when playing at home against Memphis
The total has gone OVER in 6 of East Carolina’s last 7 games
East Carolina is 4-1 SU in its last 5 games at home

NCAAF Odds

Memphis Tigers +9 -110
East Carolina Pirates -9 -110

Analysis: While the Pirates are playing at home and I like them to snap their losing streak against the Tigers in this matchup, I just don’t see them winning by the 10 points it would take for them to cover this spread.

Take the Memphis Tigers to cover in a loss with an outside shot at winning outright!
