Cardinals vs. Patriots Betting Trends + Pick Wk 16

Preview and Week 16 NFL cappers matchup tips for this weeks Arizona Cardinals vs. New England Patriots matchup, plus an NFL Betting Preview, a look at the gambling trends, and a free pick…

Determined Patriots Host Struggling Cardinals

Despite winning the weak NFC West and securing their first playoff berth in over a decade, the Arizona Cardinals (8-6 SU, 8-6 ATS, 9-5 O/U) clearly aren’t playing winning football at the moment. The Cardinals have dropped three of their last four games and are coming off a dismal 35-14 rout at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Arizona will take on a New England Patriots (9-5 SU, 7-7 ATS, 7-6-1 O/U) team that has won two straight and three of four overall, including Sunday’s resounding 49-26 spanking of the San Francisco 49ers.

The Cardinals failed to cover the spread as a 4.5-point home favorite last week as veteran quarterback Kurt Warner passed for 270 yards with one touchdown and an interception for Arizona, hooking up with wide receiver Jerheme Urban three times for 82 yards and a score. Arizona allowed Minnesota quarterback Tavaris Jackson to throw four touchdown passes in the loss.

“We don’t have any room for letdowns or games like this,” Warner said. “We’ve got to keep getting better.”

The Patriots easily covered the spread for BetUS NFL sports betting backers as a 7-point home favorite on Sunday. Quarterback Matt Cassel passed for 218 yards with four touchdowns and an interception while veteran running back Sammy Morris rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries in the win.

New England can win the AFC East over the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins if each team loses one of their final two games. The Patriots could also earn a wild-card berth if they win twice and Baltimore loses one of its last two.

“I’m not even thinking about it. I’m not sure exactly what all the scenarios are. It doesn’t make any difference,” New England coach Bill Belichick said. “There’s a million things that can happen and the only thing we can control is how we prepare and play against Arizona.”

New England Patriots -8 -110

Over 44 -110
Under 44 -110

Analysis: I know the New England Patriots are the better of the two teams in this matchup, but I’ve got the strangest feeling that Arizona is going to ‘open up a can’ on the Patriots this weekend in covering the spread if not necessarily winning outright.

The fact of the matter is that both of these teams have been surprising in this season full of surprises, so nothing is out of the realm of possibility.

I like Arizona to cover BetUS NFL sports betting fanatics.
