Week 15 is nearly over and we sure saw out fair share of Offensive explosiveness. There were more Studs this week that I can remember in any other Week this season. On the flip side, there were not that many Duds, meaning that the Fantasy World was lit up like Tiger Woods’ cheat and greet hotline (Ya, – I went there. I couldn’t help it).

Apologies to Matt Schaub, Matt Cassell,, Matt Moore, Chad Henne, Maurice Morris, Jonathan Stewart, Michael Bush, Reggie Wayne, Chris Chambers, Vincent Jackson and Dallas Clark for not making this week’s list – your effort were outstanding.

So, without further adieu, here is Dave B’s Week 15 edition of Studs and Duds.

Stud of the Week

Jerome Harrison – Cleveland – Where did this come from? Harrison had maybe the Fantasy day of the season with 286 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns. Absolutely insane numbers!! He rushed for over 4 times the yardage that Quaterback Brady Quinn threw for!! I’d say that I think the Browns have found their repacement for Jamal Lewis.

Dud of the Week

Tom Brady – New England – This is the time that Brady and the boys are gonna ramp it up and start their dominant run toward the Super Bowl – right? Unfortunately, a 17-10 win against a weak Buffalo team was hardly a statement and Brady’s 11/23 for 115 yards passing with 1 td. and 1 interception perfromace was the most disappointing of the week.

Other Studs

Ben Roethlisberger – Pittsburgh – Too little too late for Big Ben and the Steelers. However, 503 yards passing and 3 touchdowns has Roethlisberger the runner up for Stud of the Week. I can’t remember off hand when a QB passed for over 500 yards – Bravo Ben!!

Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay – Lost the duel to Ben Roethlisberger, but was still a Stud. 383 yards passing, 3 touchdowns, combined with a rushing touchdown makes it easy to put Rodgers on the Stud list.

Peyton Manning – Indianapolis – Were you worried that the Colts were gonna lose this game? I wasn’t. When you have a Stud like Manning running your Offense, you are never out of the game. Manning ended up 23/30 passing gor 308 yards and 4 huge touchdowns – Stud.

Tony Romo – Dallas – I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Romo is not the reason for the Cowboys poor record of late. He’s been efficient, effective and Studworthy over the last 5 or so games and his Week 15 performance in an upset cements Romo’s Stud status. 22/34 for 312 yards and a td. lands Romo on the Stud list.

Maurice Jones-Drew – Jacksonville – MJD hasn’t been playing all that well lately. However, Thurday night Jones-Drew reemerged as a Stud. 140 combined yards and 2 touchdowns was the reason that the Jags hung around with the Colts. Nice to see Maurice back in the Studs column!

Jamaal Charles – Kansas City – This dude has been lights out since taking the starting job in KC. He rumbled for 154 yards and a touchdown in Week 15 while making 2 chatches for 16 yards. Charles is not only a Stud this week, but he will be someone to target in the 1st 2 or 3 rounds of next year’s Fantasy drafts.

Chris Johnson – Tennessee – Ho Hum!!! Another 159 combined yards in Week 15 securing a big win for the Titans. He’s tour Fantasy MVP folks, and maybe the NFL MVP too!! Stud!

Steve Smith – Carolina – Went absolutley Nuts on Sunday night, proving once again that you can’t keep a Stud down for long. Smith ripped the Vikings for 9 catches, 157 yards an a touchdown.

Andre Johnson – Houston – 193 yards last week, 196 yards this week. Johnson is simply on fire right now and has been the biggest Wide Receiver Stud in the last month of the season.

Miles Austin – Dallas – Had to have a HUGE game in order for the Cowboys to knock the Saints from the unbeaten ranks. He did with 7 catches, 139 yards and a touchdown.

DeSean Jackson – Philadelphia – This guy seems to be doing whatever he wants right now and his Week 15 – 6 catch 140 yard, 1 touchdown performance is further proof that there is nobody that can keep up with him.

Other Duds

Brett Favre – Minnesota – The Vikings laid an egg – make no mistake about it. Favre threw for 227 yards on 17 completions, with not tds. and 1 interception. We have come to expect WAY more out of Favre – his effort was a close 2nd to Brady’s Dud of the Week one.

Jay Cutler – Chicago – Does this guy even care that his proud franchise looks terrible right now? Does he care that he is a mainstay on Dave B’s Dud list. Obviously not as Cutler’s Week 15’s 10/27 for 94 yards and 3 interceptions proves. He’s a Dud’s Dud right now.

Cedric Benson – Cincinnati – I know I know – I shouldn’t be so hard on Cedric, After all, he’s had an amazing season and he’s carried his team. All of that will not make you immune to the Dud list however, as proven by Week 15’s 53 yards rushing. Sorry to see you here Mr. Benson, but your performance gave me no choice.

Houston RBS – Arian Foster, Ryan Moats, and Chris Brown combined for 55 yards on 18 rushing attempts in Week 15. Not even a fresh Houston RB can look good. They are all Duds, and until 1 can emerge and look at least ½ decent, they’ll remain in Dave B’s Dudhouse

Saints RBS – Another committee that plays in a good Offense and that seems to be running up hill. Reggie Bush, Pierre Thomas, and Mike Bell combined for only 12 rush attempts (a sign that the coaches have no confidence in them) and gained only 56 yards with their attempts. The running game HAS to get going or the Saints won’t be around long in January.

Roy Williams – Dallas – I just love picking on this guy and his numbers allow me to do it almost every week. 1 catch for 14 yards in Week 15 ensures that Williams his in the running for Dud of the Year.

Wes Welker – New England – It pains me to call Wes a Dud, but like always, the numbers don’t lie. 4 catches for 40 yards is FAR below the 10 or so catches that Welker have been averaging lately. We depend on you Wes, and when you don’t deliver, you are a target of the Dud column.

Terrell Owens – Buffalo – Played a super soft New England secondary that has slowed nobody down this year. Owens grabbed just 2 catches for 20 in Week 15 making him a Dud again. Poor Terrell!!!!

Calvin Johnson – Detroit – Megatron had another frustrating outing in Week 15 but then again he had Dante Culpepper and eventually Drew Stanton throwing him the ball. Although it’s not all Johnson’s fault, there is still no denying that his 3 catch, 35 yard performance was a Dud.

One reply on “Week 15 NFL Fantasy Football Studs + Duds”

The biggest stud of the week’s performance probably went for nought as how many people even had him on their roster. Non the less running for 286 yards is one heck of a game no matter who is running the ball. My only questions is why wasn’t Mangini using this guy earlier in the season?
