Hot

QBs

Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay Packers – We didn`t have to tell you this but Rodgers is Hot! Rodgers has thrown for 300 yards in all but one game so far this season with multiple touchdown passes in all seven contests. He is completing over 71 percent of his passes and has tossed 20 touchdowns already with just three interceptions thus far. The Packers are on a bye but Week 9 should be fun – a shootout against the Chargers.

Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints – He completed 31 of 35 passes for 325 yards and five touchdowns in the 62-7 win. He now has 18 touchdown passes on the year — compared to eight interceptions with nearly 2,500 yards passing. Brees is Smokin`Hot!

Cam Newton – Carolina Panthers – Newton has been sensational this season with his arm his feet and his brain. He had a down Week 6 but came up with 315 combine yards (59 on the ground), 1 passing and another rushing score. Newton has 7; count ‘em 7 rushing scores on the season. Insane!

RBs

Michael Turner – Atlanta Falcons – Turner has recorded back-to-back 100-yard games. He had 139 yards and two touchdowns in Week 6 and 122 yards in Week 7. He has averaged 27 carries, 130 yards and a score in his last two games. Touches, yardage and scores make Turner Hot!

Matt Forte – Chicago Bears – Forte ran for 145 yards, scored a touchdown and caught two passes for 38 yards in the Bears’ 24-18 win over Tampa Bay in London on Sunday. He has a league-best 1,089 combined yards and has 553 of his 672 rushing yards over the past four games – HOT!

Arian Foster – Houston Texans – Foster ran for 115 yards and two touchdowns and added 119 more receiving and another score on Sunday. In five games this season, Foster now has 420 rushing yards, 305 receiving yards and four combined touchdowns, including three on Sunday. Don’t look now but Foster is heating up!

WRs

Marques Colston – New Orleans Saints – Colston has re-emerged as the Hot hand in the Saints receiving corp. Over the last two games, Colston has averaged 7 catches and 108 yards per game. He has also scored three times over that span. Colston is certainly Hot!

Jimmy Graham – New Orleans Saints – I know that it is easy to be Hot with Drew Brees as your quarterback. But Graham still deserves mentioning. His 100 yard per game receiving streak is over but the two TDs he scored on Sunday make up for it. Graham has averaged a staggering 7 catches and 108 yards over his last five games while scoring four times – HOT!

Calvin Johnson – Detroit Lions – Even when Johnson has an off game, he’s still dominant – a sign that he is Hot. Johnson had his fourth 100+ yards game in his last five (the other being a 96 yard, two touchdown effort). Johnson has 679 yards receiving so far this season and a staggering 10 touchdowns. Not Hot

QBs

Joe Flacco – Baltimore Ravens – Did you watch Monday night? WOW!

Matt Ryan – Atlanta Falcons – Before Week 7, Ryan averaged only 165 passing yards in his two previous games. He has thrown only one touchdown pass for five straight games – the latest a 218 yard effort against Detroit in Week 7. He may be winning games but for Fantasy purposes, Ryan is Not Hot.

Matt Hasselbeck – Tennessee Titans – After a tremendous start to the 2011 season, Hasselbeck has suddenly gone cold. He completed 14 of 30 passes for only 104 yards, and he was intercepted twice on Sunday, and put himself in danger of being replaced by Jake Locker.

Philip Rivers – San Diego Chargers – Rivers has been a disappointment this season. On Sunday he remained Not Hot with 179 yards passing, one touchdown and two more interceptions. In his last four games, Rivers has thrown a total of 3 touchdowns – 3! and 5 interceptions.

RBs

DeAngelo Williams – Carolina Panthers – DeAngelo was Not Hot again on Sunday and is quickly losing snaps to a way more effective Jonathan Stewart. If we take out Week 4 (82 yards rushing) and Week 5 (119 yards rushing), Williams has averaged 28 yards per game on the ground – honestly!

Chris Johnson – Tennessee Titans – Johnson is on pace for, get this, 715 yards rushing this season. Brutal! He has been over 53 yards rushing just once this season and has scored just one time on the ground. If that’s Not Hot, I don’t know what is!

WRs

Vincent Jackson – San Diego Chargers – I know that Jackson had Darrelle Revis all over him in Week 7 but a look at his last two games shows that VJax is Not Hot. He has a combined four catches, 49 yards and ZERO touchdowns over that span. Hopefully KC will cure what ails him!

Roddy White – Atlanta Falcons – White has averaged just 41 yards per game in his last three. He has scored twice over that span but his numbers are certainly NOT HOT.

Dallas Clark – Indianapolis Colts – Clark was shut out on Sunday and with the Colts going ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE, it is hard to imagine Clark bouncing back. He has 7 catches in his last three games and is averaging 20 yards per game in those contests.
