Hot

QBs

Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay Packers – Rodgers is simply the most dominant players in the game right now. He passed for 396 yards in Week 5 and now averages 344.2 yards per game this season. He has thrown 14 touchdowns versus only two interceptions so far and has added a total of 52 yards and two scores on the ground. Insane!

Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints – Brees has failed to pass for at least 350 yards in just one of five games this season. He has thrown for 1,769 yards while completing 69.4 percent of his passes and 12 touchdowns. There is no doubting that Brees is HOT.

Eli Manning – New York Giants – Eli threw three costly interceptions on Sunday but his numbers for fantasy owners have been impressive. In his last three games, Manning has averaged 332 yards passing and three touchdowns per game.

RBs

Fred Jackson – Buffalo Bills – Jackson is a beast! He has over 100 total yards in four of five games this season with 98 total yards in the one game he missed the mark by. He has scored in four straight games, is 2nd in the NFL in rushing (480 yards) and is 2nd in the league in yards from scrimmage (712 yards).

Arian Foster – Houston Texans – Foster rushed for 68 yards and had a season-high 116 yards receiving in a Week 5 loss to the Raiders on Sunday. He had 155 yards rushing and 11 receiving the week before. Hot numbers for one of the Hottest players in the game.

Frank Gore – San Francisco 49ers – Gore rushed for 125 yards and a TD on 20 carries in Sunday’s 48-3 win over Tampa Bay. Gore has now gained 252 yards while averaging 7.2 yards per carry in his last two games. Sprinkle in a few receiving yards and one must conclude that Gore is Hot!

Matt Forte – Chicago Bears – Matt Forte had another productive performance in Week 5 against the Lions. He gained 116 yards on 22 carries and also had four catches for 35 yards in the 24-13 loss. Forte has rushed for 321 yards over his last two games. Add in the fact that Forte has averaged almost 70 yards receiving per game this season and there is only one conclusion – he’s Hot!

WRs

Wes Welker – New Orleans Saints – Welker has set an NFL record with his Hot play. 740 receiving yards is the most in NFL history after five games of the season. He also has five touchdowns over a span that includes four 100-yard games.

Dwayne Bowe – Kansas City Chiefs – Bowe had seven catches for 128 yards and two touchdowns in a win over the Colts on Sunday. Bowe had three 100-yard games in his last four and has four touchdowns in the last three games. Hot!

Pierre Garcon – Indianapolis Colts – Garcon has been off the hook in the last two weeks with Curtis Painter at QB. In the last two weeks, Garcon has 271 yards and four touchdowns and is as Hot as any player in the game.

Honourable Mention: Jimmy Graham – New Orleans Saints

Not Hot

QBs

Josh Freeman – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Freeman went 17 for 33 for 187 yards with two interceptions and two sacks in Sunday’s 48-3 loss to the 49ers. Freeman now has six interceptions to three touchdowns on the season and has passed for under 190 yards in two of his last three games – Not Hot!

Ryan Fitzpatrick – Buffalo Bills – The Bills keep winning but for Fantasy purposes, Ryan Fitzpatrick is Not Hot. In his last two games, Fitz has averaged just 196 yards per game, has just one total touchdown and one interception over that span. [ad-8469823]

Mark Sanchez – NY Jets – Sanchez has averaged just 142 yards passing in his last two games and doesn’t look anything like a QB that can lead a team to a Super Bowl! In his last two starts, Sanchez has tossed a total of just two touchdowns and one interception.

RBs

Chris Johnson – Tennessee Titans – It turns out that a Week 4 effort was just a tease. Johnson’s 51 yards on Sunday lands him back on the Not Hot list! Let’s hope the bye doesn’t cool him off even more!

Ahmad Bradshaw – New York Giants – Bradshaw and the Giants running game have been awful this season. In his last two outings Bradshaw has averaged just 48.5 yards on the ground while scoring once. He has gotten his share of receiving yards but not enough to take him off the Not Hot list.

WRs

Johnny Knox – Chicago Bears – Knox was supposed to be a good sleeper pick this season especially since Roy Williams has been… Roy Williams! He has not caught more than four passes in any game thus far, and appears to be a forgotten man in the passing game in Chicago. That’s saying something!

Brandon Lloyd – Denver Broncos – Lloyd had a great Week 4 – 136 yards receiving but returned to his Not Hot ways in Week 5 – 1 catch for 20 yards. With Tim Tebow at the helm in Denver, Lloyd’s chances of getting Hot are slim. He is bench material until further notice!

Mike Williams – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Williams has 15 catches for 133 yards over his last four games with no touchdowns. The Bucs are out of sync and Williams has been terrible for Fantasy owners.

Dallas Clark – Indianapolis Colts – Clark has really fallen off the Fantasy map this season. His best game happened in Week 4 – 3 catches for 46 yards. Clark is averaging 2.8 catches per game so far and 27.2 yards per game.
