HOT + NOT For Week 6 Fantasy Football

Looking for Internet Fantasy Predictions then look no further than our Dave B our fantasy expert weighing in on weekly fantasy football topics for Week 6 action…

HOT AND NOT WEEK 6

If you are in need of a HOT fantasy football player these Top Hot players for the week should help you out if they’re in your lineup. They may also be free agents on your waiver wire.

If you need to dump a lame duck on your team, these NOTS should be them. Throw em in the trash if you can afford to not have them on your bench. Fantasy Football always favors the prepared mind.

The more research you do, and the more HOT players you have to choose from on your team, the better your odds are of winning your fantasy football league outright this year.

After all of the weekly games are finished be sure to check our waiver wire column, studs and duds, a who’s hot, and who’s not report plus more in our fantasy football guide.

Week 6 is almost here – are we having fun yet? There are definitely some players that have been consistently good all season and most of them have landed on the HOT list. Unfortunately, there are some players that have underperformed through the first five weeks of the season and regrettably, they have made the NOT HOT list.

Enjoy Dave B’s Week 6 Hot and Not list and by all means, leave a comment to let me know what you think!

Hot

QBs

Philip Rivers – San Diego Chargers – Rivers is a man on a mission indeed. He has tossed at least two touchdowns in each of his five games so far this season. Rivers has passed for over 431 yards in two of his last three games and has St. Louis, New England and Tennessee on the schedule.

Kyle Orton – Denver Broncos – Orton’s worst game of the season came in Week 1 when all he did was pass for 295 yards. 314 yards and two touchdowns against the Ravens superb defense make Orton one of the HOTTEST QBs in the NFL.

Tony Romo – Dallas Cowboys – The Cowboys are 1-3 but it is not Tony Romo’s fault. Sure he’s throwing interceptions but there is no denying that 1064 yards passing, and six touchdowns in three games is HOT.

RBs

Rashard Mendenhall – Pittsburgh Steelers – Mendenhall has averaged 102.8 yards per game and has scored four touchdowns – all without a quality quarterback calling the plays. The return of Ben Roethlisberger should open up some lanes and give Mendenhall even more room to run. If you think he was HOT before the bye, watch what he does the rest of the season.

Chris Johnson – Tennessee Titans – Johnson is on the list not so much for what he has done already (although he has 2 – 125+ yard and two touchdown games in his past 3), but for his matchups going forward. He is going to rip Jacksonville apart on Monday night and then plays a vulnerable Philadelphia defense the week after.

Maurice Jones-Drew – Jacksonville Jaguars – MJD may not be putting up monster numbers but his consistency and the fact that he is ramping up his play makes him HOT. He is running the ball effectively given the chance and he’s adding receiving yards to his total.

WRs

Hakeem Nicks –New York Giants – Nicks has been over 100 yards receiving in each of his past two games and is developing into an elite talent. Detroit and Dallas are on tap so expect the HOT numbers to continue.

Brandon Lloyd – Denver Broncos – Lloyd has had only one game less than 100 yards receiving this season (Week 2 against Seattle). He has 16 catches, 250 yards and two touchdowns in his last two games. The Jets are up next but they could be without Derrelle Revis.

Roy Williams – Dallas Cowboys – its true – Williams makes the HOT list. He has 11 catches, 204 yards and three touchdowns in his last two games. As long as Tony Romo looks his way, he’ll stay HOT.

Terrell Owens – Cincinnati Bengals – 17 catches, 324 yards and two touchdowns in his last two games – nuff said!

Not Hot

QBs

Matt Schaub – Houston Texans – Schaub was supposed to be a Stud this season but has failed to throw for more than 200 yards in three of five games this season. Last week he failed to throw a touchdown and registered one interception in the Houston loss. Schaub appears to be captain of a sinking ship – NOT HOT!

Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints – This may be a bit harsh but Brees doesn’t look like the same QB. He only tossed one touchdown against Carolina and this three interceptions cost the Saints a win against Arizona last week. He’s not cold, but he’s certainly NOT HOT.

Joe Flacco – Baltimore Ravens – Flacco had one good game this season, a three touchdown game against Cleveland. In the other four games he is averaging 213 yards, and has just two touchdowns and six interceptions in those games – NOT HOT!

RBs

DeAngelo Williams – Carolina Panthers – Williams doesn’t have one 100 yard rushing game this season and has only one touchdown so far. Teams are playing to stop the Carolina run and Williams is suffering for it. As long as there is no passing threat in Carolina, Williams will remain NOT HOT.

Denver RBs – Laurence Maroney and Correll Buckhalter combined for eight whole yards rushing in Week 4 and followed that up with 39 combined yards in Week 5. Brutal!

Beanie Wells – Arizona Cardinals – Wells has been an absolute dud this season. In his last two games, he has totalled a whopping 54 yards – hardly acceptable for a feature back don’t you think?

WRs

Greg Jennings – Green Bay Packers – Greg Jennings is moody! He has every reason to be. In his last four games he hasn’t eclipsed 36 yards receiving! He is averaging barely over two catches per game during that span. He’s is certainly NOT HOT!

Chad Ochocinco – Cincinnati Bengals – Since Week 1 Ocho has taken a back seat to Terrell Owens. He has averaged 3.5 catches and under 49 yards receiving in those games. He also hasn’t hit pay dirt since week 1.

Lance Moore – New Orleans Saints – Remember Moore’s 149 yard, two touchdown effort in Week 3? Since then he has six catches for 45 yards in two games combined. I hope that you are not depending on him for your Fantasy squad!
