2015 CFL Football Grey Cup Futures Odds & Gambling Predictions

CFL Futures – Who Will Win the 2015 Grey Cup?

CFL teams have started to shape their rosters in anticipation of the start of the 2015 season – the opening game is on June 25th. The defending champion Calgary Stampeders enter the year as the overwhelming favorite to win it all but history has shown that repeating is an awfully tough task.

In fact no team has won the Grey Cup two straight years since the Toronto Argonauts did so in 1996.

Is there any sleeper teams poised to win the 103rd Grey Cup in 2015 on November 29th or have the oddsmakers got it right? Let’s take a look.

Odds to Win 2015 Grey Cup at Bodog as of June 15:

Calgary Stampeders CFL Lines 10/3

The Calgary Stampeders have the luxury of Bo Levi Mitchell and star running back, three-time rushing title winner Jon Cornish (he won the rushing title despite missing nine games last year!!!!) returning to the team.

[dfads params=’groups=63753&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Calgary’s depth will certainly be challenged – centre Brett Jones and tackle Stanley Bryant are gone and defensive end Shawn Lemon, Maurice Price, Brad Sinopoli and Nik Lewis have also departed.

Yes, there has been some significant turnover in Calgary but the two biggest cogs – Mitchell and Cornish still exist on the most balanced offense in the CFL. Coach John Hufnagle will have his team ready for sure – they are my pick to end 20 years without a repeat champion.

Saskatchewan Roughriders CFL Lines 5/1

Saskatchewan, as always will field a competitive team – the health of QB Darian Durrant and the season-long availability of receiver Weston Dressler are the biggest question marks. There is zero doubt that the Riders are a much better team with Durrant under center – they lost seven of nine games without him last year but with a number of linemen gone from the team, his protection doesn’t exactly seem like a sure thing.

Saskatchewan, on paper looks like an average team- my guess is that their play on the field will be too.

Edmonton Eskimos CFL Lines 11/2

The Eskimos turner a serious corner last year winning 12 games – Mike Reilly looks like the answer for this team at quarterback and names like Kenny Stafford and Cory Watson at receiver makes this team look more dangerous to say the least. Reilly threw for 3,327 yards and rushed for 616 more.

[dfads params=’groups=66501&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Edmonton should be competitive again in the West – just not sure if they measure up to the Stampeders in terms of talent – especially since their starting running back has been lost for the season – already!

B.C. Lions CFL Lines 6/1

The BC Lions begin a new era with a new coach and a new philosophy – not to mention a slew of new players! Gone are kick-returner Tim Brown, Canadian receiver Kito Poblah, running back Stefan Logan, defensive lineman Eric Taylor, defensive back Korey Banks and defensive tackle Khalif Mitchell – yikes!

This season depends solely on the health of Travis Lulay who just can’t seem to stay on the field. If he manages a full season and if running back Andrew Harris can rediscover his form, the Lions are a threat to the Stampeders in the West. At 6/1 BC looks like good value right now.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats CFL Lines 13/2

Hamilton enters the season as the two-time defending East Division champion – there isn’t much reason to think they can’t make it three. Zach Collaros was very good in his first year as a starting pivot throwing for over 3200 yards and receivers like Luke Tasker and Brandon Banks would keep this team formidable in the passing game. The team has been decimated by injuries already however – receiver Spencer Watt and defensive tackle Linden Gaydosh have already been lost for the year with Achilles injuries.

That said coach/GM Kent Austin has been terrific at getting the most out of his players – in a weak East, they should win and once in the Grey Cup, anything can happen! Looking for some more value – Hamilton may be worth a shot.

Montreal Alouettes CFL Lines 8/1

Drama has already become a part of the 2015 season for the Als – Michael Sam who made the team was excused for personal reasons – who knows if he will every play a down for the club. Jonathan Crompton is one of the most unflattering starting QBs in the league and will have to improve under center for this team to make it back to the East Final. The team went out and got Nik Lewis but there appears to be too many holes in the roster for Montreal to be a legitimate threat.

Toronto Argonauts CFL Lines 8/1

Toronto is in flux – the ownership seems to have been straightened out but the Als still look as dysfunctional as ever. Ricky Ray is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery meaning that some guy named Trevor Harris could start for at QB to start the season. I don’t have a whole lot of faith in Toronto – you shouldn’t either.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers CFL Lines 17/2

The Blue Bombers enter the season off a last place finish in the West last year – no reason to think they have a huge turnaround this upcoming season! Underwhelming Drew Willy will be under center again –not great. Receivers Darvin Adams and Jordan Reaves were brought in to help out in the passing game but I can’t see it being enough.

[dfads params=’groups=63752&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

The Bombers look weak in every aspect of the game – no reason to take a gamble on them surpassing four very good teams in the West.

Ottawa RedBlacks 20/1

The RedBlacks still have some work to do in their second season – they won just twice in their first season. Needless to say, a bet for Ottawa is not recommended. QB Henry Burris will have a few more weapons but not enough to be a threat just yet.

The 2015 futures betting season is right around the corner! If you like to bet on football, you are in the best possible place for online betting.
