The start of the NFL season may still be three months away, but with players participating in OTAs it’s hard not to feel excited about this upcoming season. Looking ahead to Week 1, here are 10 games worth watching once the regular year gets underway.
CANADIAN? **BET ON SPORTS WITH BODOG.ca - CLICK HERE - BET TODAY!
Thursday, September 5, 2013

Denver Broncos (-8.5) v. Baltimore Ravens

A scheduling conflict sees the Super Bowl champion Ravens opening their season on the road. The Broncos will be out for revenge after their late collapse in the divisional round a year ago. With Peyton Manning breaking in his new toys, Wes Welker and Montee Ball, a blowout could be in order.

Sunday, September 8, 2013

Buffalo Bills v. New England Patriots (-7)

The Patriots have owned the Bills in the Brady-Belichick era, but Wes Welker has moved on, and the Pats will also likely be without Rob Gronkowski to start the season. It will be interesting to see how quickly Tom Brady is able to develop a rapport with his new No. 1 target, Danny Amendola.

Chicago Bears (-3.5) v. Cincinnati Bengals

New Bears head coach Marc Trestman promised to bring more excitement to the Bears offense and he’ll get his first chance to put that on display. Keep an eye on how the Bears’ rebuilt offensive line holds up against a Bengals defense that ranked third in the NFL in sacks a year ago.

New Orleans Saints (-2.5) v. Atlanta Falcons

Sean Payton returns to the Saints in what they hope will be a bounce back year. These teams have alternated claiming the division crown over each of the last four years and this game could go a long way towards deciding which team finishes atop the NFC South this season.

New York Jets v. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-2)

These teams got together to pull off one of the bigger trades of the offseason when the Jets shipped Darrelle Revis to the Bucs in exchange for a pair of draft picks. The veteran cornerback will get an early opportunity to make some noise against his former club right out of the gates. <img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid #ccc"; width:250px; height:250px; src="http://www.vrbmarketing.com/process/image.php?pid=977&aid=1217" />

Carolina Panthers v. Seattle Seahawks (-3.5)

There are still some quietly holding out hope for a Panther breakout with the team holding post-hype sleeper status after failing to live up to expectations a year ago, but this game will be all about the Seahawks putting their new weapons on display and making a statement to the rest of the league.

San Francisco 49ers (-5) v. Green Bay Packers

These teams find themselves opening their schedules against one another for a second year in a row. The Packers will be looking for revenge after a pair of losses to the 49ers last season, including the one that ended their season in the divisional round.

Dallas Cowboys (-3) v. New York Giants

The Cowboys retooled their defense a year ago with the Giants in mind and those changes paid immediate dividends in a Week 1 win over the G-men in 2012. The Cowboys haven’t hosted a Week 1 game since 2007 when they beat these very Giants, 45-35.

Monday, September 9, 2013

Washington Redskins (-5) v. Philadelphia Eagles

The NFC East nabs a second prime time slot with the early Monday nighter. Washington hopes to have Robert Griffin III back on the field in time for this contest, but it could be Kirk Cousins at the helm for the Burgundy and Gold. Meanwhile, we’ll get some answers as to whether or not Chip Kelly’s offense will translate to the NFL level.

San Diego Chargers v. Houston Texans (-3)

Philip Rivers and the Chargers will look to turn things around after a forgettable 2012 campaign. New head coach Mike McCoy will face a stern test against a Texans team that is among the best in football. A year ago McCoy’s Broncos accumulated 330 yards and two scores through the air against the Texans, but that was with Peyton Manning at quarterback.

The NFL regular season is still a ways away, but with lines beginning to trickle in at various sportsbooks there is no better time to begin trying to identify value.
THE BEST SPORTSBOOK FOR BETTING ON COLLEGE & NBA HOOPS! – CLICK HERE NOW + BET WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD TODAY!

Here’s a look at five underdogs in prime position to pull off a Week 1 upset.

Sunday, September 8, 2013

Tennessee (+6.5) at Pittsburgh Steelers

Mike Munchak was Tennessee’s offensive line coach before becoming the team’s head coach. Munchak had one mandate when he was promoted, and that was to get Chris Johnson’s career back on track.

Johnson showed some signs of life over the latter half of the 2012 season, and should be extra-motivated this year with the Titans bringing in Shonn Greene to compete with Johnson for touches in the Titan backfield.

As for the Steelers, they haven’t left Ben Roethlisberger much talent to work with this year, and they let some key defensive players leave via free agency.

The Titans also beat the Steelers in the lone meeting between these teams a year ago.

Cleveland (+1) v. Miami Dolphins

Maybe I’m not going out on much of a limb by picking a 1-point underdog to pull off an upset, but I believe this is the start of a trend that can be very profitable for bettors over the early part of the NFL season.

The Dolphins were very active in free agency this offseason, bringing in an impressive assortment of veteran players, but this is a cautionary tale we’ve heard many times before. Winning teams aren’t assembled through free agency.

However, early action in Vegas has shown that bettors are eager to get behind the Dolphins. This should lead to some very favorable lines for those doubters who don’t believe Miami is poised for the major step forward that many expect.

The first favorable line comes right out of the gate in Cleveland on a Browns team that should be effective this season with Norv Turner calling the shots on offense.

New York Jets (+2) v. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Seemingly endless Darrelle Revis trade rumors linked these teams to one another throughout the offseason, and they’ll get to face one another to start the regular year.

Revis will help improve Tampa Bay’s 32nd-ranked pass defense, but that may not be where they need help on this day. <img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid #ccc"; width:250px; height:250px; src="http://partners.commission.bz/processing/impressions.asp?btag=a_805b_824" alt="New Parlay Odds at BetOnline"/>

The Jets have a solid offensive line, and they run the ball well. Chris Ivory is very familiar with the Bucs having spent the first three years of his career with the Saints, and he’s averaged 7.0 yards per carry against them.

Arizona Cardinals (+6) at St. Louis Rams

The Rams took a big step forward in Jeff Fisher’s first year as head coach last season. This isn’t a condemnation of the team’s progress, but they’ll have some issues to work through in Week 1.

Key veterans on offense Steven Jackson and Danny Amendola are both gone, leaving Sam Bradford with a stable of young, largely unproven players to work with. Also, the man tagged to take over as the team’s starting running back, Isaiah Pead, has been suspended for this game.

Outside of changes at the safety position the Cardinal defense that has been solid over the last two-plus seasons is largely intact. New quarterback Carson Palmer should at least be able to get the ball to Larry Fitzgerald, and the Cardinals are a different team when that happens.

Monday, September 9, 2013

Philadelphia Eagles (+5) at Washington Redskins

I’m not nearly as confident that Robert Griffin III is ready for this game as others seem to be. Kirk Cousins filled in nicely when RGIII went down last season, but the Redskin offense is far less dynamic when he’s under center.

Chip Kelly’s offense may not be successful in the NFL over the long term, but he may be able to pull out a few surprises in Week 1. Steve Spurrier’s Fun ‘n’ Gun offense didn’t last in the NFL, but he was able to catch the Cardinals off guard in Week 1 of the 2002 season to the tune of 31 points and 442 yards of offense.

In the three meetings between these teams started and completed by Michael Vick the Eagles are 3-0, outscoring the Redskins by an average of 20.7 points.

It’s June – never too early to talk about the NFL and what could play out when the season starts in September. Offseason workouts have begun and things are starting to take shape including the oddmakers’ views of who should thrive and who could tumble this upcoming season.
**LOOKING FOR SAFE & SECURE NBA & NCAAB SPORTSBOOKS FOR GAMBLING?
Let’s take a look at a few of the teams that offer a bit of value when looking at the Over/Under of some teams’ projected win totals. There are definitely some that are projected to high and a few that are not being given enough love by Vegas.

The Overs:

Chicago Bears – Over 8.5 wins (-145)

The Bears have a new Coach in camp this year – Marc Trestman is supposed to significantly upgrade an offense that has underachieved the past few seasons. Chicago’s success however is tied directly to the health of Jay Cutler – a player that always seems to go down at precisely the wrong time of the season.

CLICK TO GRAB OUR Expert NFL Picks for 2013 FOOTBALL Betting!

I like the offense-first approach of the Bears this year heading into the season and we all know that the defense will hold up their end of the bargain. A 9-7 season or better certainly isn’t too much to ask from a team that should in all likelihood make the playoffs this upcoming campaign.

Carolina Panthers – Over 6.5 wins (-130)

The Panthers played about as poorly as they could have last season and they still finished with seven wins. Expect them to be much better on both sides of the ball this year – they just have to be. Cam Newton should be over his sophomore slump and the defense should have a better time this upcoming year. It all adds up to another 7-9 or 8-8 season for the Panthers – Over the 6.5 win total.

Kansas City Chiefs – Over 6.5 wins (-130)

KC upgraded in a big way during the offseason – possible the two biggest impact moves were made in the names of Andy Reid as Coach and Alex Smith at QB. This team still has Jamaal Charles and they still live in a division that includes San Diego and Oakland – a recipe for a .500 season at very least. 7-9 would be a colossal disappointment – you have to like the Chiefs to be .500 team – don’t you?

New Orleans Saints – Over 9.5 wins (-115)

The Saints get Sean Payton back from suspension – that’s good for a couple of wins all by itself. Add in the fact that their disappointing season from last year led to a rather easy schedule for the Saints. New Orleans’ defense will be better and Drew Brees is certainly due for a bounce back after a somewhat disappointing 2012. New Orleans is always good for 10 wins when Sean Payton is at the helm – this year should be no different. <img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid #ccc"; width:250px; height:250px; src="http://banners.bmaker.ag/images/Late_promos_250_250_0.gif?cmpid=17435_5414">

The Unders:

Washington Redskins – Under 9 wins (-120)

All of the reports out of Skins OTAs seem positive – RG III appears on track to start the season healthy. That said it is no guarantee that his surgically repaired knee will be back to “normal” all season long. Sophomore slumps are real things for NFL QBs as well – just ask Cam Newton! Washington plays in the always tough NFL East which, on paper looks like it may be vastly improved this year. The Skins haven’t had back-to-back winning seasons since 1991-92 – I see a slight slide this year.

Indianapolis Colts – Under 8 wins (+120)

If I think that RG III is headed for a sophomore slump, I have no choice but to think that the Colts are due for a bit of a letdown this year too. This team rode the emotion of their cancer-afflicted coach last year and they won seven games by four or less points. The odds will even themselves out this year and the Colts will experience the adversity they were supposed to suffer last year.

Pittsburgh Steelers – Under 10 wins (EVEN)

The Steelers lost a few more pieces of what had made them successful the last few seasons – change likely will catch up to them this year. Add in the fact that their division is increasingly competitive and that Ben Roethlisberger is almost a shoe-in for a significant injury and double digit wins looks like an uncertainty in Steel-Town.

Arizona Cardinals – Under 6 wins (-120)

The Cardinals won five games last year and did virtually nothing to improve their team in the offseason. Bruce Arians replaces Ken Whisenhunt as Coach and Carson Palmer was acquired to play QB. I’m not sure if these are the upgrades necessary to make this team competitive. The NFC West looks strong again and Arizona appears as though they are the worst of the bunch. Arizona could challenge for the worst record in the NFL this year – Under 6 wins is a good play.

Our In-House Handicapper Ray "The Razor" Monohan is making a run up the leaderboards this week! A HUGE Run. Hop on the $ Train Now!

The countdown is on to the start of a new season in the NFL as all 32 teams are busy preparing for a Super Bowl run. Some team’s chances are obviously much better than others so here is a looking at the top third of the list according to odds provided by Bovada.
Do you want an incredible 10% back on your wins and losses...every week??? BET on basketball and Enjoy Live Online Betting at A WORLD CLASS Sportsbook!

San Francisco 49ers- 6/1

The 49ers made it to the NFC Championship Game in 2011 and followed that up with a trip to last year’s Super Bowl so it stands to reason that they will take the next step in 2013 by winning it all. The loss of wide receiver Michael Crabtree with a torn Achilles certainly does not help, but neither does past trends. The last time a team that lost the Super Bowl got back there the following season was all the way back in 1994, when Buffalo lost three-straight title games.

Denver Broncos- 13/2

To me, this is the team to watch in 2013. They finished last season with the fourth-best offense in the NFL to complement a defense that was ranked second in the league in total yards allowed. By his own admission, Peyton Manning already said he was not 100 percent last season, so he should be even better this year.

New England Patriots- 8/1

The combination of Bill Belichick at head coach and Tom Brady under center make the Patriots perennial favorites each and every year, but they head into next season with some burning questions at tight end on offense and with their defense in general. This could be another close but no cigar year for New England.

Seattle Seahawks- 17/2

The Seahawks are quite a few people’s pick to win it all next season. There is no denying that their defense is one of the best around especially when playing at home, but I am not convinced that Russell Wilson does not take a step backwards in 2013, which has been the case for so many other rookie quarterbacks in their second year in the league. <img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid #ccc"; width:250px; height:250px; src="http://www.capperspicks.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Ray-300x250.gif" alt="Cappers Picks" border="0" />

Green Bay Packers- 12/1

This is my team from the NFC. The offseason moves to address a very deficient running game through the addition of Eddie Lacy and Johnathan Franklin through the draft could be just enough to tip the scales back into the Packers’ favor after a brief hiatus from the title game.

Atlanta Falcons- 14/1

Atlanta proved that it can translate its incredible regular season success into the playoffs with a run all the way to the NFC Championship Game in 2012, but the teams that were right below them in the standings have made the necessary moves to help close the gap. The Falcons win the NFC South but once again come up short with everything on the line.

Houston Texans- 18/1

This is another team that has all the pieces in place for a long run in the postseason, but you cannot help but get the feeling that the Divisional Round of the playoffs is as far as it gets for the third straight year. Matt Schaub may not be the answer after all to help this team get over its current hump.

New Orleans Saints- 18/1

The Saints will automatically be a much better team this season with Sean Payton back at the helm, but they may not be able to avoid a slow start out of the gate as they work out the kinks from his year-long suspension from the NFL.

Baltimore Ravens- 22/1

Baltimore is in position to take a serious step backwards next season. The loss of Ray Lewis and Ed Reed on defense are just too big of a void to fill overnight and all that money is bound to go to Joe Flacco’s head on the other side of the ball.

New York Giants- 22/1

The Giants very average 9-7 record last season does set the stage for a another long run to a title game, as this team is once again hungry to go out and win. They should have a fairly easy road in the NFC East as the gap between them and the other three teams have actually gotten wider, but there will be some tough competition to get past to make a trip back to the conference title game.

NFL division odds are out. At first glance it appears that a season of repeats is in order with seven of eight defending division winners favored to turn the trick again this year, but a closer look shows that there is quite a bit of value to be found in these plays.
THE BEST SPORTSBOOK FOR BETTING ON COLLEGE & NBA HOOPS! – CLICK HERE NOW + BET WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD TODAY!

AFC East Odds

New England (-500) appears slightly vulnerable with Rob Gronkowski out indefinitely and Wes Welker gone, but they’re still the class of the division. They’re an injury or two from being in some real trouble, though.

Miami (+500) is the sexy pick this year. They won free agency, but the next NFL team to drastically improve through free agency will be the first.

New York (+1000) and Buffalo (+1800) have a lot of work to do to get back to a level where they can compete with the Patriots.

The play: Pass

AFC South Odds

The offseason didn’t go well for Baltimore (+180). The team lost some key veterans and that doesn’t bode well for their chances of avoiding the dreaded Super Bowl hangover.

Pittsburgh (+200) is so well-coached that it’s tough to bet against them, but they let some key players leave in the offseason and don’t appear to have enough talent to get to the playoffs.

Cincinnati (+200) has won 19 games over the last two seasons, and as their young core matures they’re only going to get better.

Cleveland (+750) is finally trending in the right direction, but they’re still a few years away from competing.

The play: Bengals (+200)

AFC South Odds

Indianapolis (+250) played above themselves a year ago thanks to an easy schedule. The schedule-makers must be Colts fans because Indy will enjoy the third-easiest schedule this year.

However, Houston (-250) will play the league’s sixth-easiest schedule, and the improvements they made on defense make them the team to beat once again.

I can’t think of anything positive to say about Tennessee (+750) other than that they get to play Jacksonville (+2500) twice.

The play: Texans (-250)

AFC West Odds

The AFC West teams will enjoy the softest slate of games in football, with each of the division’s four teams ranking in the top-5 among the league’s easiest schedules.

Kansas City (+650) and San Diego (+650) should improve on their records from a year ago, while Oakland (+2000) will be lucky to win five games.

Denver (-500) got Peyton Manning some extra toys to play with in the offseason. They come at a steep price, but as far as I’m concerned it’s free money.

The play: Broncos (-500)

NFC East Odds

Dallas (+225) has the weapons on offense to compete with the best of them, and they got healthy on defense in the offseason. <img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid #ccc"; width:250px; height:250px; src="http://www.vrbmarketing.com/process/image.php?pid=137&aid=1217" />

It sounds like Washington (+225) is going to get Robert Griffin III on the field by week one. The problem is Robert Griffin II and the Shanahans might be too cautious with him until it’s too late.

New York (+175) is without some key offensive players at the start of camp, while Chip Kelly will use year one in Philadelphia (+500) to work the kinks out of his offense.

The play: Cowboys (+225)

NFC North Odds

Green Bay (-175) is going to regret letting Greg Jennings go, and Jennings is going to regret going to Minnesota (+425) to play with Christian Ponder. The Vikings played above themselves last season and can’t count on a repeat performance from Adrian Peterson.

Chicago (+350) finally addressed their concerns at left tackle by bringing in Jermon Bushrod, and Martellus Bennett is their first legitimate threat at tight end since Greg Olsen left.

I was tempted to go with Detroit (+750), but they’re going to play the league’s second-toughest schedule this year.

The play: Bears (+350)

NFC South Odds

New Orleans (+160) gets Sean Payton back and you just know they’re going to play with a chip on their shoulder all season. Drew Brees might break every passing record there is this year.

Steven Jackson was a solid get for Atlanta (+110), and Tony Gonzalez returning for another season is great, but the team needed to pay more attention to the other side of the ball in the offseason.

Tampa Bay (+600) will be better, but Darrelle Revis can’t solve their issues in the secondary by himself.

Carolina (+600) has some appeal as a post-hype sleeper, but they drew the toughest schedule in football this season.

The play: Saints (+160)

NFC West Odds

The arms race out West has set up what will be a great battle between San Francisco (-125) and Seattle (+125) for the division crown. Both teams are stacked, but a slightly softer schedule and the best home field advantage in football give the Seahawks the edge.

St. Louis (+800) should take another step forward in their second year under Jeff Fisher.

Arizona (+3300) shouldn’t have let Ray Horton leave.

The play: Seahawks (+125)

Parity rules the NFL, so seven of eight division champions repeating is highly unlikely. Wise bettors will recognize that there is plenty of value to be found in division plays this season.

The 2012-2013 NFL season was filled with lots of great action, and you can expect more of the same in the 2013-2014 season. There are plenty of teams who are capable of finishing the season as Super Bowl champions.
**LOOKING FOR SAFE & SECURE NBA & NCAAB SPORTSBOOKS FOR GAMBLING?
Last year, it was the Baltimore Ravens who ended on top. Over the next few weeks, we’re going to start looking at some teams that could hoist the Lombardi Trophy this coming season!

Atlanta Falcons Odds to win Super Bowl XLVII from Bookmaker: +1,500

Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons took an important step last year, and they weren’t far at all away from playing in the Super Bowl. The Falcons season ended as they were right on the doorstep of the end zone in their clash with the San Francisco 49ers. This is a team that didn’t need a ton of help in order to be capable of winning the Super Bowl.

CLICK TO GRAB OUR Expert NFL Picks for 2013 FOOTBALL Betting!

The Falcons made a splash in the NFL Draft this year by trading up to get their single biggest need, a strong cover corner. Desmond Trufant will come into Atlanta and wear Deion Sanders’ old jersey of number 21.

Trufant is a physical cornerback who really blossomed into a great player in his time at Washington.

Trufant was the single biggest reason the Huskies defense gave so many great quarterbacks trouble last year.

Atlanta got some tremendous news when Tony Gonzalez decided to come back after initially retiring after last year. Gonzalez led the team with 93 receptions last year.

The Falcons arguably have the best group of pass catchers in the NFL. Roddy White and Julio Jones are both awesome receivers and Gonzalez is still among the very best in the business.

Matt Ryan is always going to have plenty of great options when these guys are on the field. <img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid #ccc"; width:250px; height:250px; src="http://www.vrbmarketing.com/process/image.php?pid=1357&aid=1217" />

Matt Ryan had his best season as a professional last year. He had gotten a lot of heat about not winning a playoff game, but the Falcons did win a game in the playoffs last year.

Ryan can make all the throws and he has the necessary leadership skills to help this team get to the next level.

What about the running game? Michael Turner’s productivity had dipped quite a bit in the last couple years, and the Falcons decided to make a change. Steven Jackson will now be the primary running back for the Falcons.

He is a little past his prime as well, but Jackson gives the team an even more physical running back.

Jacquizz Rodgers is a nice piece for the team since he catches the ball so well out of the backfield.

Atlanta’s schedule starts and ends with some difficult matchups, but the middle of the schedule has some pretty easy stretches in it. Atlanta is 36-12 in the regular season in the last three years.

The Falcons haven’t gotten to the Super Bowl just yet, but they are knocking on the door!

Sportsbooks see a ton of action over the course of the NFL season. The flood gates won’t open until Week 1, but win totals give us some insight into how oddsmakers feel about our favorite teams. They also give us a preview of which teams should offer some value in the early weeks of the season.
They're BAAAAACK!!!!
Here are eight win totals worthy of a closer look.

Baltimore Ravens (8.5)

Where better to start than with the defending Super Bowl champions?

Joe Flacco was due a new contract in the offseason and rather than leaving some money on the table to help fund a better supporting cast, he took all the money.

Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and Anquan Boldin are all gone. None of those players was expected to play a huge role for the team this season, but their veteran leadership could have helped the team to avoid the dreaded Super Bowl hangover.

The fifth-toughest schedule in football won’t help either.

The play: Under 8.5 (+120)

Kansas City Chiefs (7)

Last season’s 2-14 record is not indicative of the talent on this roster. The team sent six players to the Pro Bowl.

The additions of Andy Reid and Alex Smith, and the fifth-easiest schedule in football point toward a quick turnaround.

I’m not loving that price, so this is a play you’re going to want to do some line shopping on.

The play: Over 7 (-145)

Miami Dolphins (7.5)

This win total opened at 6.5, but sharp money pushed it up to 7.5. I’m not buying-in.

Miami won free agency. Whether that translates into wins on the football field is another story.

Mike Wallace and Tyson Clabo headline a strong offseason haul by the Fins, but Ryan Tannehill isn’t Aaron Rodgers.

The team doesn’t have enough of a running game to compete, and will face the league’s eighth-toughest schedule.

The play: Under 7.5 (+115)

New York Jets (6.5)

The New York papers have been known to blow things out of proportion, and they help us get in at a fair number here with their fanatical coverage of the team.

The Jets have a good coach, a solid running game, and a good defense, even without Darrelle Revis.

The play: Over 6.5 (-110)

Dallas Cowboys (8.5)

The Cowboys used the offseason to get healthy on defense, while the departure of Rob Ryan is another point in their favor.

Jason Garrett and the offense seemed to figure something out in the second half of the 2012 season, and if that carries over into this season the Boys will be in for a big year. <img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid #ccc"; width:250px; height:250px; src="http://www.vrbmarketing.com/process/image.php?pid=889&aid=1217"" />

The play: Over 8.5 (+135)

Minnesota Vikings (7.5)

Adrian Peterson carried the team a year ago, but his 411 touches including playoffs are a major red flag.

Christian Ponder doesn’t have what it takes to be a starter in the NFL, and the departure of Percy Harvin will make that even more evident.

The play: Under 7.5 (-110)

New York Giants (9)

The Giant offense could be in trouble. Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks both began camp away from the team over contract disputes, while the team’s offensive backfield situation is cloudy with Ahmad Bradshaw out of town.

The team has gone on some epic runs of success in recent years, but they’ve been very average at times as well.

The play: Under 9 (-120)

Seattle Seahawks (10.5)

No team improved more in the offseason than Seattle. The team brought in veterans Percy Harvin, Cliff Avril, and Antoine Winfield, and also had a strong draft despite not having a first round selection.

The Seahawks are stacked on both sides of the ball, and enjoy the best home field advantage in pro football.

The league’s 11th-toughest schedule should be easy sledding for them.

The play: Over 10.5 (-110)

The number of wins an NFL team will finish with are dependent on their schedule more so than any other single factor.

Be sure to take a look at each team’s schedule before putting your money down.

2013 Regular Season Opponents

Sun, Sept. 8 N.Y. GIANTS We’ll see how the Dallas DBs contain WR Victor Cruz and Co., as the hated G-Men visit Arlington to start the regular season.

Sun, Sept. 15 @ Kansas City The Chiefs are a much improved football team in the off-season, but this is still a road game Dallas should feel confident about.

Sun, Sept. 22 ST. LOUIS The Rams are in a similar position on the curve as the Chiefs – perhaps just a bit further along – but if Jerry’s Team can execute in the first game against New York, the Cowboys have a reasonable shot at starting 3-0.

Sun, Sept. 29 @ San Diego Dallas’ oft-criticized QB Tony Romo should be able to shred an uninspired Chargers secondary, but the Cowboys secondary in its own right will have to be careful with QB Philip Rivers.

Sun, Oct. 6 DENVER According to sources, the team is holding Romo accountable to ratchet up his work ethic, so it is more like Peyton Manning’s. Perhaps Romo can take some notes when the Broncos come to Cowboys Stadium and likely take a win with them.

Sun, Oct. 13 WASHINGTON The 2013 leg of this historic rivalry begins in Texas. The visiting ’Skins better hope that RG3’s leg is in solid shape for a bitter divisional tilt.

Sun, Oct. 20 @ Philadelphia While arguably a reach at #4 in the first round, Eagles top draft pick, OT Lane Johnson is super-atheltic and will be far better equipped to handle the likes of Dallas pass-rush demons like DE DeMarcus Ware and DE/OLB Anthony Spencer.

Sun, Oct. 27 @ Detroit This is a winnable road game for Dallas, and if America’s Team has any realistic visions of the postseason in 2013, they’d better grab it. <img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid #ccc"; width:250px; height:250px; src="http://banners.betdsi.com/images/currentpromos_dsi_250_250_0.gif?cmpid=3051_8322">

Sun, Nov. 3 MINNESOTA Dallas’ rush “D” was a miserable 22nd-ranked in the league last season, so it could be a long day with all-everything RB Adrian Peterson coming to town.

Sun, Nov. 10 @ New Orleans The Saints surely pose some concerns, but if the Cowboys can force QB Drew Brees into turning the ball over, Dallas could win this match.

Sun, Nov. 17 BYE

Sun, Nov. 24 @ N.Y. Giants The Cowboys reached in the first round of the Draft for Wisconsin center Travis Frederick. We’ll see if he’s worth his mustard (and his considerable dollars) against a nasty Giants defense.

Thurs, Nov. 28 OAKLAND While Thursday games can always be trap games and heightened injury concerns, the silver lining is that the Silver-and-Black are coming to east Texas.

Mon, Dec. 9 @ Chicago I have always pictured Romo and Bears QB Jay Cutler to be a similar type of player in my mind’s eye, with Romo offering a little more mobility and escapability, and Cutler with a bit more of a hose for an arm.

Sun, Dec. 15 GREEN BAY The schedule gods were decently kind in ’13, with the Packers travelling to Dallas rather than the Cowboys needing to layer the warm gear on late-season Lambeau Field tundra.

Sun, Dec. 22 @ Washington This game in D.C. will surely be a match-up the ’Boys already have circled on their calendars; or “favorited” in their smartphones, if my previous reference is now dated and/or obsolete.

Sun, Dec. 29 PHILADELPHIA Always a treat to have the Eagles come to your barn to end the regular season and – possibly – give you a measuring stick for the playoffs.

2013 Regular Season Opponents

Mon, Sept. 9 @ Washington The Eagles, coming off a lousy 2012 campaign, should thank their lucky stars that iconic DC pivot Robert Griffin III likely won’t be recovered from his knee injury for this Monday-night season opener.

Sun, Sept. 15 SAN DIEGO The Chargers have almost as many existential troubles as Philly does, so this could be a winnable game for a home side that will sorely need some momentum before Week 4.

Thurs, Sept. 19 KANSAS CITY Every drop of the narrative in Philly’s third game in 11 days will be about former head coach Andy Reid’s return to the City of Brotherly Love. We’re all waiting to see how he’ll be received.

Sun, Sept. 29 @ Denver This road game in the Rockies opens a gauntlet of a mid-season schedule for the hard-luck Eagles. Yet, Philly seems to thrive when everybody counts them out.

Sun, Oct. 6 @ N.Y. Giants A short road-trip for the Eagles notwithstanding, there should be nothing easy about this clash with a hated divisional rival. I wonder how the Eagles will enjoy facing Manning brothers in consecutive weeks?

Sun, Oct. 13 @ Tampa Bay Eagles RB LeSean McCoy – one of the strengths of the team – might be bottled up versus the Bucs, who featured the league’s No. 1-ranked rush defense last season and RB Doug Martin, a great runner in his own right.

Sun, Oct. 20 DALLAS This timeless rivalry continues at Lincoln Financial Field, so expect the Philly faithful to be in an absolute frenzy when freshly-minted Dallas QB Tony Romo steps under center.

Sun, Oct. 27 N.Y. GIANTS Late October features back-to-back rivalry games for the Eagles, who will really want this one on their home turf, in an NFC East division that reminds one of a knife-fight in an alley.

Sun, Nov. 3 @ Oakland The Raiders franchise has been a mess for quite some time, so this is a game the Eagles can feel confident they can travel out west and procure a “W”.

Sun, Nov. 10 @ Green Bay Philly heads from the Bay Area to the chilly Wisconsin autumn. If all the state’s cheese constipates the road team, the aerial prowess of Packers QB Aaron Rodgers could produce the opposite effect.

Sun, Nov. 17 WASHINGTON RG3 might be back to normal by the time Philly faces the ‘Skins for the second time. That doesn’t bode well for anyone else in the NFC East. <img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid #ccc"; width:250px; height:250px; src="http://banners.affiliatelions.com/marketing/getimage/1445/448/" />

Sun, Nov. 24 BYE

Sun, Dec. 1 ARIZONA With Carson Palmer in the fold, Cards’ WR Larry Fitzgerald will at least some tight spirals being hucked his way, but he’ll probably see some balls sail into the arms of the Philadelphia secondary also.

Sun, Dec. 8 DETROIT The wheels came off the bus last season in Detroit; that plays into the Eagles’ hands nicely with this late-season home game.

Sun, Dec. 15 @ Minnesota Until young QB Christian Ponder can become more reliable, the most exciting part of this game might just be snow caving in the Metrodome roof.

Sun, Dec. 22 CHICAGO The “Monsters of the Midway” travel to southern Pennsylvania right before Christmas, they hope to gift-wrap a win with help from pivot Jay Cutler’s frozen ropes downfield.

Sun, Dec. 29 @ Dallas A fitting end to an intense regular season for Philadelphia. Eagles fans haven’t seen narrative this harrowing since Silver Linings Playbook.

2013 Regular Season Opponents

Sun, Sept. 8 @ Dallas This divisional rivalry contains as much vitriol as any of them, and it starts the 2013 season in the House that Jerry Built.

Sun, Sept. 15 DENVER The schedule gods are creating some buzz early this season; the Brothers Manning duel under center at Mile High Stadium in Week 2, and it should be a great match-up.

Sun, Sept. 22 @ Carolina We’ll see if Cam Newton can stop whining and pouting to give his Panthers a chance at home against a good Giants team.

Sun, Sept. 29 @ Kansas City Things went about as bad as things could for the Chiefs last season. Having Eric Berry back in the secondary should at least help slow down New York’s dangerous passing game.

Sun, Oct. 6 PHILADELPHIA The Giants have been getting the better of this grudge match lately, but the Eagles are looking to re-tool in a hurry. If New York can get the deep ball going like in Week 17 last year (42-7 NYG), it could be a definitive Giants win.

Thurs, Oct. 10 @ Chicago NFL players love Thursday night games like the general male public enjoys tax season, rush-hour traffic and prostate examinations.

Mon, Oct. 21 MINNESOTA Vikings superstar Adrian Peterson is a load, but until the Vikes can get some better quarterbacking, you have to like the New York “football” Giants at home in this prime-time showdown.

Sun, Oct. 27 @ Philadelphia The Eagles should get some immediate help with the fourth overall pick in this year’s Draft, and they certainly need it. Regardless, Philly wants to avenge the beatdown they took late last season. <img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid #ccc"; width:250px; height:250px; src="http://partner.tbaffiliate.com/GetBanner.html?id=574&affiliateID=1463&sourceID=17" alt="TopBet"/>

Sun, Nov. 3 BYE

Sun, Nov. 10 OAKLAND The Giants’ pass-rush has been terrorizing opponents for years now, but the pass-rushers may have difficulty getting by underrated Oakland OT Jared Veldheer.

Sun, Nov. 17 GREEN BAY This great NFC match-up never fails to disappoint. The showdown of gunslingers under center (Manning, Aaron Rodgers) is precisely the type of thing fans shell out good money to come watch.

Sun, Nov. 24 DALLAS A big game versus the Packers sets the table for a huge home game against the rival Cowboys. If Dallas doesn’t get some interior offensive line help in the Draft, Tony Romo should be running for his life early and often.Sun, Dec. 1 @ Washington If RG3 is back and playing near 100%, this caps a three-game gauntlet of a schedule. If Griffin isn’t in great health, the G-Men should expect a healthy diet of RB Albert Morris.Sun, Dec. 8 @ San Diego There’s likely to be some fun in the sun, if you’re a Giants fan.

Sun, Dec. 15 SEATTLE This intriguing game features what could be considered the eventual “passing of the torch” with NFC gamer QBs, from Eli Manning to Russell Wilson. Neither of these guys have unreal measurables, but they often answer the bell in the big games.

Sun, Dec. 22 @ Detroit Can any time in the Motor City during the winter really fill you with holiday cheer? I don’t care if you come away with a win or not.

Sun, Dec. 29 WASHINGTON New York’s 2013 campaign ends with a divisional match-up that might very well decide things and influence playoff seeding.
