The 2011 Fantasy Football season is at or near its end – time to hand out some Fantasy Hardware! 2011 was a strange season that saw injuries, Rookies and Waiver Wire Gold dominate some leagues. A look at Dave B’s 2011 Fantasy All-Star Team reveals that there were almost as many surprise All-Stars as there were predictable ones.
WAGER WITH OUR FRIENDS AT JUSTBET SPORTSBOOK TODAY!
So, without further adieu, let’s get on with the 2011 version of Dave B’s fantasy All-Stars

Quarterbacks

Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay Packers – Rodgers has been insane all season long and barely edges out Drew Brees for the QB MVP. Rodgers threw at least two touchdown passes in all but one game this season, has 45 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions to go along with 257 rushing yards and three scores on the ground – that’s an average of 3.2 touchdowns per game! Rodgers goes into Week 17 with 5 combined touchdowns more than his nearest rival and is certainly worthy of this years’ QB Fantasy MVP.

Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints – Brees broke Dan Marino’s 27 year old record on Monday night – 5087 yards passing on the season. Brees has thrown a touchdown pass in 42 straight games and is inching closer and closer to the all-time record held by Johnny Unitas (47). With 41 touchdowns to add to his insane yardage totals, Brees is an obvious Fantasy All-Star.

Tom Brady – New England Patriots – Brady was terrific as per usual this season – 36 passing touchdowns and three rushing scores make him an obvious All-Star. He needs just 99 yards passing to become one of the few in NFL history to pass for 5000 yards in a season.

All-Star Alternates: Matthew Stafford, Can Newton

Running Backs

LeSean McCoy – Philadelphia Eagles – LeSean McCoy was expected to have a big season but becoming the Fantasy RB MVP was not foreseen. McCoy enters the final week of the season having rushed for 1309 yards and 17, yes 17 touchdowns. He also added 48 receptions for 315 yards and another three scores. 20 total touchdowns are seven more than any other Running Back in the league. There is absolutely no doubt who is this year’s Fantasy RB MVP!

Ray Rice – Baltimore Ravens – Rice had himself quite a season but unfortunately registered a few Duds that kept him from MVP honors. Rice had 1173 yards rushing with 10 touchdowns while adding a staggering 74 catches for 696 yards and three scores. Rice was a combined yardage machine and is a worthy Fantasy All-Star. <img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid #ccc"; width:250px; height:250px; src="http://info.gtbets.eu/banners/set_11/GTbets-basketball-250x250.gif">

Marshawn Lynch – Seattle Seahawks – Marshawn Lynch was a second half warrior this season – since Week 9, he averaged 19 Fantasy Points per game! As of Week 16, Lynch has scored a touchdown in 11 straight games and has racked up 1,032 total yards from scrimmage over that stretch. Lynch did what no other back has been able to do all season – rush for 100+ and score on the ground against the 49ers ridiculous run defense.

All-Star Alternates: Arian Foster, Maurice Jones-Drew

Wide Receivers

Calvin Johnson – Detroit Lions – Johnson had a rather weak second half of the season but there is absolutely no denying what he was able to do in the first half! Johnson has eight touchdowns in his first four games. After Week 16, Megatron had 15 touchdowns, three clear of Jordy Nelson and seven clear of the third best WR in terms of scores. Touchdowns make MVPs an in the case of NFL WRs, Johnson is king!

Wes Welker – New England Patriots – Going into Week 16, Welker has an incredible 116 catches for 1522 yards and nine touchdowns – that’s an average of 7.73 grabs and 101.5 yards per game- ALL SEASON! Welker was a beast and nearly the WR MVP!

All-Star Alternates: Jordy Nelson, Victor Cruz

Tight Ends

Rob Gronkowski – New England Patriots – Gronkowski had the best season that a Tight End has ever had in the history of the game so he has to be the TE MVP. Gronk, as of Week 16 has 82 catches, 1219 yards and 15, count èm 15 touchdowns! The next nearest Tight End has 10 scores. Gronkowski is currently tied for the lead in receiving touchdowns with Calvin Johnson – AND HE`S A TIGHT END!!

Jimmy Graham – New Orleans Saints – Graham, in any other year may have been the TE MVP. He, as of Week 16 has 91 catches, 1213 yards and 10 touchdowns. Only Calvin Johnson and Wes Welker, among wide receivers, have more fantasy points than Graham.

Defense

Ravens – Let`s face it, this team is the most consistent fantasy producer in the game and they did it without Ray Lewis for a few games this season. They lead the league in sacks with 47 and are near the top in takeaways as well. The Ravens did it all this season on defense and are the MVP unit at this position.

49ers – The Niners gave up the least yards on the ground (71.50 per game) and they allowed the fewest points in the NFL by a mile (202 in 15 games). No points and no rushing yards against gets the 49ers defense an All-Star nod.

Texans – Where did this come from? The Texans were 2nd against the pass and 4th against the run this season while giving up the 4th least amount of points in the NFL.

Each week, the CappersPicks.com fantasy football guru Dave B brings you players you need to be paying attention to – Remember – fantasy football championships are often won by those who live eat and breath fantasy football.

After all of the weekly games are finished be sure to check our waiver wire column, cheatsheets, a who’s hot, and who’s not report plus more in our fantasy football guide.

Week 16 was Championship Week for most of you – there were definitely some performances good enough to lead you to the promise land. There were a ton of outstanding offensive performances in Week 16 from some under the radar guys. Unfortunately some of the Studs became Duds at the worst time of the Fantasy season.

So here we go with the Week 16 version of Dave B’s Week 16 Studs and Duds.

Studs of the Week:

Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay Packers – Aaron Rodgers completed 21-of-29 passes for 283 yards and five touchdowns in Week 16, leading the Packers to a 35-21 Christmas night win over the Bears. It’s just not fair!

Matthew Stafford – Detroit Lions – Matthew Stafford completed 29-of-36 passes for 373 yards and three touchdowns in Week 16, leading the Lions to a playoff-clinching, 38-10 win over the Chargers. Stafford wasn’t on the field for most of the third quarter and still posted Stud numbers!

Other Studs:

QBs

Cam Newton – Carolina Panthers – Cam Newton completed 12-of-17 passes for 171 yards and four total touchdowns in Saturday’s 48-16 win over the Buccaneers. He added 65 rushing yards on six carries. Newton broke a few more records in yet another Stud performance.

Tom Brady – New England Patriots – Tom Brady completed 27-of-46 passes for 304 yards with one touchdown and added nine rushes for 17 yards with two touchdowns in the Patriots’ Week 16 win over the Dolphins. 2 RUSHING TOUCHDOWNS??? Dude is a Stud – no doubt about it!

Matt Hasselbeck – Tennessee Titans – Matt Hasselbeck completed 24-of-40 passes for 350 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in the Titans’ Week 16 win over the Jaguars. In a week that QBs didn’t steal too many shows, 350 yards makes Hasselbeck a Stud.

Honourable Mention: Matt Moore, Kyle Orton

RBs

Arian Foster – Houston Texans – Arian Foster rushed 23 times for 158 yards and a touchdown and added three receptions for 16 yards against the Colts in Week 16. How much do you love Mr. Foster?

Rashard Mendenhall – Rashard Mendenhall ran all over the Rams’ 32nd ranked run defense in Week 16, tallying 116 yards and a score on only 18 carries in Pittsburgh’s 27-0 win. He added one catch for 35 yards. If Mendenhall wasn’t a Stud this week with the circumstances in Pittsburgh, he may have needed an escort out of the stadium!

CJ Spiller – Buffalo Bills – C.J. Spiller rushed 16 times for 111 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for 27 yards in the Bills’ Week 16 win over the Broncos. Spiller looked quick, elusive and on a different level than anyone else on the field on Saturday – Stud!

Honourable Mention: Evan Royster – ya, Evan Royster, Ahmad Bradshaw, Maurice Jones-Drew, Marshawn Lynch,

WRs

Jordy Nelson – Green Bay Packers – Jordy Nelson caught six passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns in Week 16, helping the Packers to a 35-21 Christmas drubbing of the Bears. That’s more like it – Nelson is a Stud, not the Dud he’s been the last couple of weeks.

Victor Cruz – NY Giants – Victor Cruz exploded for 164 yards and a touchdown on three receptions to lead the Giants to a season-saving 29-14 victory over the Jets in Week 16. Cruz’s team record for yardage in a season also resulted in him being included on the Stud list this week! <img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid #ccc"; src="http://banners.affiliatelions.com/marketing/getimage/1445/448/" />

Brandon Marshall – Miami Dolphins – Brandon Marshall racked up seven catches for 156 yards with a touchdown in the Dolphins’ Week 16 loss to the Patriots. Amazing performance by Mr. Marshall on Saturday!

Reggie Wayne – Indianapolis Colts – Reggie Wayne hauled in eight passes for 106 yards and a touchdown to lead the Colts to a 19-16 last-minute victory over the Texans in Week 16. Wayne likely played his final game in Indy on Thursday and on the final drive was a monster. It’s been fun Reggie – best of luck in a new city Stud!

Wes Welker – New England Patriots – Wes Welker caught 12 passes for 138 yards in the Patriots’ 27-24 Week 16 win over the Dolphins. Welker was targeted 19 times in the game and continues to be the biggest WR Stud of this season.

Honourable Mention: Jared Cook – ya, Jared Cook, Larry Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson

Duds of the Week:

Tim Tebow – Denver Broncos – Tim Tebow completed just 13-of-30 passes for 185 yards, one touchdown, and four interceptions as the Broncos were blown out 40-14 by the Bills in Week 16. Tebow also scrambled 10 times for 34 yards and a touchdown while adding a fumble along the way. Wow – what a dismal effort – I guess he was due for a Dud of the Week effort!

Hakeem Nicks – NY Giants – Hakeem Nicks was held to just one catch on seven targets for 20 yards against the Jets in Week 16. Insane! I am truly sorry if you were depending on Nicks this week.

Other Duds:

QBs

Joe Flacco – Baltimore Ravens – Joe Flacco completed 11-of-24 passes for 132 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception as the Ravens held off the Browns in Week 16. Not terrible with 2 touchdowns but 132 yards passing makes Flacco a Dud!

Eli Manning – NY Giants – Eli Manning completed just 9-of-27 passes for 225 yards, one touchdown, and one interception against the Jets in Week 16. Take out one – 99 yards play and Eli would have been Dud of the Week! He was miserable on Saturday for the second week in a row.

RBs

Willis McGahee – Denver Broncos – Willis McGahee managed 64 yards on 15 carries in the Broncos’ Week 16 loss to the Bills. Against one of the worst defences in the land, 64 yards is simply unacceptable.

Ryan Matthews – San Diego Chargers – Ryan Mathews rushed 11 times for 58 yards in San Diego’s Week 16 loss to the Lions, adding three catches for 16 yards. Matthews came into Week 16 as one of the hotter RBs in the game but was significantly cooled off by the Lions.

Shonn Greene – NY Jets – Shonn Greene rushed 14 times for 58 yards and added three receptions for 20 yards against the Giants in Week 16. So much for Ground and Pound. I blame Rex Ryan and his coaching staff for this Dud effort.

Cedric Benson – Cincinnati Bengals – Cedric Benson rushed 16 times for 57 yards and added one reception for eight yards against the Cardinals in Week 16. Against the Cardinals, much, much more was expected.

Chris Johnson – Tennessee Titans – Chris Johnson rushed 15 times for 56 yards in the Titans’ Week 16 win over the Jaguars. CJ2K officially becomes CJ2Dud with his Week 16 performance.

WRs

AJ Green – Cincinnati Bengals – A.J. Green caught just two passes for 25 yards and rushed twice for 25 more yards against the Cardinals in Week 16. Green was a Top 10 WR option this week – 25 yards receiving is a complete and utter Dud performance.

Santana Moss – Washington Redskins – Santana Moss caught two passes for 40 yards with a touchdown in the Redskins’ Week 15 win over the Giants. Big things were expected of Moss this week but 40 yards is definitely a major disappointment.

Aaron Hernandez – New England Patriots – Aaron Hernandez caught four passes for 36 yards in the Patriots’ Week 16 win over the Dolphins. After last week’s enormous effort, Hernandez was poised to have an enormous week – WRONG!

Dishonourable Mention: Plaxico Burress, Vincent Jackson

Championship week is here for most of us – time to put our Fantasy money where our Fantasy mouths are. Dave B is here to help with all of your tough lineup decisions in this week’s Fantasy Matchups – Start and Sit Week 16.

Enjoy a preview of all of this week’s games and who, in those games should start for you during the most important time on the Fantasy calendar. Drop me a line and let me know what you think!

Houston at Indianapolis 8:20 PM

Ugh! This is one Thursday night game I may not even watch! Arian Foster for Houston and Reggie Wayne are the only two Fantasy starters in this game – period!

Denver at Buffalo 1:00 PM

I actually like Tim Tebow in this one – he could be a combined yardage machine against the worst defense in the NFL. Willis McGahee and Demaryius Thomas are also quality starts for Championship week. For the Bills, CJ Spiller is worth considering as a RB2/flex.

Arizona at Cincinnati 1:00 PM

Both these teams need a win to stay in the playoff hunt but that doesn’t mean that there is Fantasy Gold in the game. Larry Fitzgerald is a no-brainer as usual and John Skelton could be used as an absolute desperation start. For the Bengals, Cedric Benson is an average play and if AJ Green plays he is a good start. Stay away from all other Cardinals and Bengals.

Jacksonville at Tennessee 1:00 PM

Maurice Jones-Drew is the only Fantasy worthy Jaguar – period! For the Titans, it is hard to trust anybody. You may have to start Chris Johnson – I just don’t know what to expect from him. Nate Washington has been Hot lately as well but in Championship week, he may be too big a risk, Washington is more like a low end WR3 this week.

Oakland at Kansas City 1:00 PM

Oakland is a sneaky Fantasy team – inconsistent and a tad scary. Carson Palmer is simply an average option this week but Michael Bush is still a start based on the number of touches that he will receive. Derrius Heyward-Bey had quite a breakout game last week but is too risky this week for my blood. He is another low-end WR3 in my books. For the Chiefs, Kyle Orton may actually be a decent desperation start (I can’t believe I just said that!). Because of that, Dwayne Bowe and even Steve Breaston on deserve some starting consideration.

Miami at New England 1:00 PM

Remember, New England’s defense has been absolutely terrible this season. So Matt Moore may be an OK start, not great. Brandon Marshall is a fine play this week as is a scorching Reggie Bush. If desperate at Tight End, Anthony Fasano is a decent play. For the Patriots, the usual suspects are in play here – start Brady, Welker, Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. I still can’t recommend anyone in the Patriots running game.

NY Giants at NY Jets 1:00 PM

This should be an interesting game. I like Eli Manning to bounce back even against the Jets terrific pass defense. With Darrelle Revis guarding Hakeem Nicks, he is a scary man to rely on this week. Victor Cruz and even Mario Manningham will likely have better games. The Giants running game is hard to recommend this week! For the Jets, I think Shonn Greene bounces back this week. He, Plaxico Burress and Santonio Holmes could all be used.

St. Louis at Pittsburgh 1:00 PM

Sit all Rams! For Pittsburgh, expect OK not terrific numbers from Ben Roethlisberger. Rashard Mendenhall should have his way against the brutal Rams run defense. I like Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown to be solid in this game as well. The Steelers defense is the top DST this week without a doubt! There is a chance that Big Ben may not play. If this is the case, downgrade all Steelers a bit.

Minnesota at Washington 1:00 PM

Adrian Peterson was upset about the lack of carries he got last week. Expect the Vikings to feed him often and for AP to have a good game. He is the only Viking that I trust this week. You want some Week 16 sleepers? Look no further than Rex Grossman, Santana Moss and Jabar Gaffney who should all have good games. Roy Helu may be a sneaky flex as well.

Tampa Bay at Carolina 1:00 PM

For Tampa Bay, I like nobody but if forced to pick one, Mike Williams would edge out LeGarrette Blount as their only quality starter. For Carolina start Cam Newton and Steve Smith for sure. Of the two running backs in Carolina, DeAngelo Williams has surpassed Jonathan Stewart as the more productive. <img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid #ccc"; src="http://ff.connextra.com/resources/BOVADA/Sports/NFL_Generic/NFL_Aff-250x250.gif" alt="Bovada - NFL Betting" width="250" height="250">

Cleveland at Baltimore 1:00 PM

Sit all of you Browns this week. For the Ravens, expect Ray Rice to steal the show! That leaves Joe Flacco, Anquan Boldin, Torrey Smith and Ed Dickson as very risky starts.

San Diego at Detroit 4:05 PM

This is likely the shootout of the weekend! I like Philip Rivers, Vincent Jackson, Antonio Gates and even Malcolm Floyd in this one. Ryan Matthews could also be used at RB. For the Lions, Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson absolutely have to be in lineups. I also like Brandon Pettigrew to have a decent game at TE. I have no idea who to pick between Titus Young and Nate Burleson. Right now, I am staying away from the Lions running game.

Philadelphia at Dallas 4:15 PM

I love Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy this week in yet another shootout. Jeremy Maclin, DeSean Jackson and Brent Celek should also have strong games. For Dallas start Tony Romo, Jason Witten, Laurent Robinson and Dez Bryant. Miles Austin is also very usable here.

San Francisco at Seattle 4:15 PM

Two good defenses are on display here – don’t expect a whole lot of Fantasy points in this one. Frank Gore is the best 49ers option. But if necessary, Vernon Davis and Michael Crabtree could be used. For Seattle, Marshawn Lynch is the only Fantasy option but he is going against the league’s best run defense. If you can, look elsewhere.

Chicago at Green Bay 8:20 PM

There is no Bear that I would consider this week at all. Green Bay on the other hand should be motivated after their first loss of the season. Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson, James Jones and Jermichael Finley are all great fantasy options this week. Ryan Grant is only an OK RB2 this week. Be sure to get the Packers defense in your lineups as well.

Atlanta at New Orleans 8:30 PM

The final game of the weekend should produce a Fantasy bonanza! For Atlanta, I like Matt Ryan – he’s been hot lately. Roddy White, Julio Jones and Tony Gonzalez are all fine starting options. Michael Turner has slowed significantly but has to start for you this week – he was likely your #1 pick! For the Saints, Brees, Colston and Jimmy Graham are automatic. I also like Lance Moore and Darren Sproles in this game.

LINEUP ????’S MUST BE ASKED BY FRIDAY TO HAVE ANY CHANCE OF US REPLYING BY SUNDAY, So Post ???’s below.

Each week, Dave B will compile a list of Hot and Not Hot players based on their past performances and future matchups.

READY FOR DAILY FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUES? – WIN $$ TODAY AT FANDUEL.COM!!!

It is hard to believe that Week 16 is almost here and that another Fantasy season is almost in the books. I guess it is time to spend some time with your families! If you are still in the hunt for your Fantasy crown, chances are that you have some Hot players on your team. If you are playing for pride alone, chances are that you own a few of the Not Hot players on Dave B’s Hot and Not – Week 16 list.

So who can you depend on for Championship week and who is untrustworthy during the most important week of the Fantasy season? It is all broken down below in this week’s Hot and Not list.

Hot

QBs

Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints – Brees completed 32 of his 40 passes for 412 yards and five touchdowns during the Saints’ 42-20 rout of Minnesota on Sunday. In pursuit of the NFL record books he has now thrown a touchdown pass in 41 consecutive games to inch closer to the all-time record held by Johnny Unitas (47). Brees is also only 304 yards shy of surpassing Dan Marino’s single-season passing yards mark (5,084). He has passed for over 300 yards 12 times this season – HOT as HELL!

Tom Brady – New England Patriots – Tom Brady threw for 300-plus yards for the ninth time this season in Week 15 against the Broncos. He completed 23 of 34 passes for 320 yards with two touchdowns. He also recorded a rushing touchdown in the 41-23 win. In his last six games he has 15 touchdowns and just one interception!

Tony Romo – Dallas Cowboys – Romo threw for three touchdowns and ran for a fourth score Saturday night, helping the first-place Cowboys beat the struggling Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-15.Romo has 1936 yards passing, 18 touchdowns and only two interceptions in his last seven games.

Matthew Stafford – Detroit Lions – Stafford has passed for over 391 yards in two of his last three games and with his fourth quarter comeback in Oakland last week, there is no way you can’t consider Stafford Hot. He has seven touchdowns and only one interception in his last three games.

RBs

Ray Rice – Baltimore Ravens – Rice gained 57 yards on 10 carries and also caught nine passes for 55 yards in the 34-14 loss against the Chargers. He has been a combined yardage machine all season and now gets to face a Cleveland Browns team that he went for 204 yards against in Week 13 – Hot!

LeSean McCoy – Philadelphia Eagles – McCoy is second in the NFL with 1,274 rushing yards, while adding 310 receiving yards. He has 19 combined touchdowns – 19! LeSean is money in the Fantasy bank and is certainly Hot!

Maurice Jones-Drew – Jacksonville Jaguars – MJD has been carrying the Jags on his back! He has averaged around 100 yards per game in his last 6 (although he’s only gotten there twice) and has scored five times over that span. The Jags are going to ride MJD to the ground so he should remain Hot.

Reggie Bush – Miami Dolphins – Bush has been over 100 yards in his last three games culminating with a 203 yards effort in Week 15. He has six touchdowns in his last seven games and as is Hot as they come!

WRs

Steve Smith – Carolina Panthers – Smith is heating up again. After a rough patch, Smith is getting right at the best time for his owners. In his last two games, Smith has averaged 5.5 catches and 103 yards receiving with one total touchdown. With Tampa Bay next on the schedule, Smith is Hot again!

Roddy White – Atlanta Falcons – White caught 10 passes for 135 yards and two scores Thursday in a 41-14 rout of the Jags. In his last four weeks White has averaged 7.75 catches per game, 97.5 yards per game and he has five combined touchdowns – Hot! <img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid #ccc"; src="http://ff.connextra.com/resources/BOVADA/Sports/All_Sports/250X250.gif" alt="Bovada - Sports Betting" width="250" height="250">

Demaryius Thomas – Denver Broncos – Thomas is absolutely on fire – Tim Tebow’s favourite target by a country mile. In his last three games, Thomas has 338 yards and three touchdowns. Buffalo and Kansas City are on tap. It is safe to say that Thomas should remain Hot!

Honourable Mention: Laurent Robinson, Nate Washington

Not Hot

QBs

Joe Flacco – Baltimore Ravens – Flacco hasn’t been over 227 yards in his last four games. He has averaged 193 yards passing in those games has a total of five touchdowns and three interceptions – Not Hot.

Mark Sanchez – NY Jets – Sanchez’s best game in his last three came last week – 181 yards and two scores! He has averaged just 165 yards in those games, has five total touchdowns and two interceptions.

Josh Freeman – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – What happened to Josh Freeman? He sat out Week 13 with injury but in the last three he’s played, Freeman has averaged just 176 yards passing and has a combined 2 touchdowns and three interceptions – Not Hot!

RBs

Chris Johnson – Tennessee Titans – Johnson is back to the Not Hot column after a decent run. After consecutive 150+ yard games CJ2K has combined for 78 yards in his last two games combined. That’s more like the Chris Johnson we expect!

LeGarrette Blount – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Blount is on a sinking pirate ship at the moment. He had 21 yards rushing on Saturday night! In Week 13 he had 19 yards, Week 14 he had 74 and Week 15 – 21 yards. Blount is brutal and absolutely Not Hot!

WRs

Mike Williams – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Williams has been a bust all season but the last two weeks he’s been especially Not Hot. In Week 14 he had 3 catches for 35 yards and in Week 15 he was SHUT OUT! Williams is ice cold just like the rest of his team.

Anquan Boldin – Baltimore Ravens – Boldin has been held to two catches in two of the last three games and has not gone over the 70-yard mark since Week 9. He has just one touchdown over that span. The Ravens are going to run the ball against Cleveland making Boldin Not Hot!

DeSean Jackson – Philadelphia Eagles – Jackson’s best game in his last three was a Week 14 effort in which he caught four balls for 59 yards and a score. Sandwiched around that performance are a 4 catch 34 yard effort and a 2 catch 28 yard game – Not Hot!

Week 16 Waiver Wire

It’s Championship week for most of you – time to find some Waiver Wire Gold to put you over the top! There are some interesting names available in Fantasy leagues this week – none will be a catalyst for a Fantasy Title but they might just be solid enough to plug in and let your Studs do most of the work.

Take a look at Dave B’s Week 16 Waiver Wire and most of all Good Luck in Week 16!

QBs

Kyle Orton – Kansas City Chiefs – Orton made his first start for the Chiefs a memorable one. He went 23-for-31 for 299 yards with no touchdowns but also no interceptions in the Chiefs most improbable win over the Packers. In Week 16, he has an Oakland team that allowed Matt Stafford 391 yards and four touchdowns in Week 15. The Raiders give up the fifth-most fantasy points (17.0 per game) to opposing quarterbacks. Orton and the Chiefs have Denver of all teams in Week 17! Not a terrific pick-up but certainly not terrible!

John Skelton – Arizona Cardinals – Skelton played very well in Week 15 against a very tough pass defense – 28-for-46 for 313 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He now has 595 passing yards and four touchdowns over the last two weeks and with Kevin Kolb’s concussion issues, Skelton could be in line for another start in Week 16 against Cincinnati. Again, not great but not terrible either,

Others to Monitor: Joe Webb (Minnesota Vikings), Tarvaris Jackson (Seattle Seahawks), Seneca Wallace (Cleveland Browns)

RBs

Lance Ball – Denver Broncos – Willis McGahee left with a hamstring injury in his Week 15 game – he is iffy for Week 16. Lance Ball (13 touches, 105 yds, TD, lost fumble) filled in admirably and could be in line for a ton of carries on a run first, second and third team. He will be the top target this week.

Kahlil Bell - Chicago Bears – How quickly has Marion barber fallen out of favour after his miscues against Denver? Unbelievable! The beneficiary to Barber’s demotion is Kahlil Bell who had 15 carries for 45 yards along with five receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 15. A weakfish Packers run defense is on tap. In PPR leagues especially, Bell is worth a look as a flex player. <img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid #ccc"; src="http://banners.affiliatelions.com/marketing/getimage/1445/448/" />

Chris Ivory – New Orleans Saints – Mark Ingram has turf toe, an injury that takes some time to come back from. Chris Ivory proved to be a valuable replacement in Week 17 – 18 carries for 74 yards against the Minnesota Vikings. Ivory faces a Falcons team in Week 16 that has allowed 100 yard rushers in two of their last three games. With Ingram out, Ivory could be in line for 15-20 carries again against the Atlanta defense.

Others to Monitor: Stevan Ridley (New England Patriots), Thomas Jones (Kansas City Chiefs), Bernard Scott (Cincinnati Bengals), Jackie Battle (Kansas City Chiefs), Danny Woodhead (New England Patriots), Marcel Reece (Oakland Raiders), Sammy Morris (Dallas Cowboys), Evan Royster (Washington Redskins)

WRs

Lance Moore – New Orleans Saints – Moore was Drew Brees flavour of the day Sunday – five receptions for 91 yards and two touchdowns against the Minnesota Vikings and with another shootout looming against Atlanta he is worth a serious look. He has five touchdowns in four games and is catching fire at precisely the right time.

Andre Roberts – Arizona Cardinals – John Skelton loves this guy and if Skelton starts again in Week 16, take a glance at Roberts. He had six catches for 60 yards and a touchdown against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday and now has 14 receptions for 179 yards in his last three games. Roberts is a fringe Fantasy player but if you are a river-boat gambler, he may be worth a shot!

David Nelson – Buffalo Bills – Nelson has six receptions for 60 yards in Week 15 against the Miami Dolphins and with Stevie Johnson banged up once again, Nelson could become the man in Buffalo down the stretch. He is up against a somewhat vulnerable Broncos pass defense in Week 16 and a brutal Patriots pass defense in Week 17.

Lavelle Hawkins – Tennessee Titans – Hawkins has been hanging around the Waiver Wire Water Cooler all season long. In Week 15 he had eight receptions and 88 yards against the Indianapolis Colts. The Titans have an awful Jaguars defense in Week 16 – Hawkins may be worth a look in deeper leagues!

Others to Monitor – Kevin Walter (Houston Texans), Devin Aromashodu (Minnesota Vikings), Austin Collie (Indianapolis Colts), Golden Tate (Seattle Seahawks), Brandon Gibson (St. Louis Rams), Louis Murphy (Oakland Raiders)

TEs

Jared Cook – Tennessee Titans – Cook was a Stud in Week 15 and could be one of the better adds for Championship week. He had nine receptions for 103 yards Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, and he was targeted 11 times in the game. The Titans play an awful Jacksonville team that has been very generous to opposing Tight Ends in Championship week. Take a look!

Todd Heap – Arizona Cardinals – Stop the presses! Heap is healthy! In Week 15, Heap had seven receptions (on nine targets) for 69 yards. Heap is a proven NFL talent and is certainly worth a look too!

Defense

Washington Redskins – Washington’s defense was outstanding against the Giants in Week 15 allowing 10 points while intercepting quarterback Eli Manning three times while also sacking him three times in the game. The hapless Vikings are up next – a dream matchup for Championship week! The Skins are certainly a decent one-week play at the most important time of the Fantasy year.

Fantasy Semi-Finals week is almost in the books! There were some typically outstanding performances this week – ones that undoubtedly took some Fantasy owners to the Championship game. Unfortunately, there were some brutal efforts – ones that likely sent some Fantasy owners packing at precisely the wrong time of the year.

Below is a list of all such performances in Dave B’s Week 15 Studs and Duds. I hope you had more Studs than Duds this week!

Studs of the Week:

Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints – Drew Brees completed 32-of-40 passes for 412 yards and five touchdowns as the Saints dismantled the Vikings in Week 15 – an insane effort from one of this week’s Studs of the Week.

Reggie Bush – Miami Dolphins – Reggie Bush rushed 25 times for 203 yards with a touchdown in the Dolphins’ 30-23 Week 15 win in Buffalo. Bush has been Hot and now receives Stud of the Week honours.

Calvin Johnson – Detroit Lions – Calvin Johnson exploded for a career-high 214 yards and two touchdowns on nine receptions to lead the Lions to a 28-27 comeback victory over the Raiders in Week 15. Unbelievable! That`s the Megatron that we love – the Studly one!

Other Studs:

QBs

Matthew Stafford – Detroit Lions – Matthew Stafford completed 29-of-52 passes for 391 yards and four touchdowns against the Raiders in Week 15. What a comeback, what a Stud!

Matt Ryan – Atlanta Falcons – Ryan completed 19-of-26 passes for 224 yards and three touchdowns against Jacksonville. The 137.3 passer rating was the second-highest of his career. He was pulled in the third quarter of that game but still produced Stud numbers in his limited time on the field.

Tony Romo – Dallas Cowboys – Tony Romo completed 23 of 30 passes for 249 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday’s win against the Buccaneers. He also added one rushing touchdown in a truly Studly effort.

Honourable Mention: Tom Brady

RBs

LeSean McCoy – Philadelphia Eagles – LeSean McCoy rushed 18 times for 102 yards with three touchdowns in the Eagles’ Week 15 blowout of the Jets and he didn`t even play in the fourth quarter! He was awesome on Sunday and should realistically have been Stud of the Week.

Donald Brown – Indianapolis Colts – Donald Brown rushed 16 times for 161 yards and one touchdown, and added one catch for two yards against the Titans in Week 15. Brown gets the nod as the most unlikely Stud this week.

Arian Foster – Houston Texans – Arian Foster rushed 16 times for 109 yards and a touchdown and added five receptions for 58 yards, but the Texans lost 28-13 to the Panthers in Week 15. He was the only thing working for the Texans on Sunday. 167 combined yards and a score makes Foster a Stud once again.

CJ Spiller – Buffalo Bills – C.J. Spiller rushed 12 times for 91 yards with a touchdown and added nine catches for 76 yards with a touchdown in the Bills’ Week 15 loss to the Dolphins. Spiller had quite a game – good enough for a place on the Stud list!

Honourable Mention: Maurice Jones-Drew, Felix Jones

WRs

Roddy White – Atlanta Falcons – Roddy White exploded for 135 yards and two touchdowns on 10 receptions to lead the Falcons to a 41-14 blowout victory over the Jaguars in Week 15. White did absolutely whatever he wanted on Thursday night and became the first WR Stud this week.

Lance Moore – New Orleans Saints – Lance Moore caught five balls for 91 yards and two touchdowns as the Saints destroyed the Vikings in Week 15. If you get open for Drew Brees, he will make you a Stud.

Brent Celek – Philadelphia Eagles – Brent Celek caught five passes for 156 yards with a touchdown in the Eagles’ Week 15 blowout of the Jets – Stud!

Honourable Mention: Darrius Heyward-Bey, AJ Green, Greg Little, Aaron Hernandez

Duds of the Week:

Jordy Nelson – Green Bay Packers – Jordy Nelson was held to just 29 yards on two receptions against the Chiefs in Week 15. With Greg Jennings OUT, a whole lot more was expected! I hate to say it but Nelson was an utter Dud on Sunday.

Wes Welker – New England Patriots – After posting 311 yards receiving with three touchdowns over his last three games, Patriots WR Wes Welker did not have the same kind of success in Week 15 against the Broncos. He was held to four catches for 41 yards in the 41-23 win. Welker is the most unlikely Dud this week. <img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid #ccc"; src="http://banners.affiliatelions.com/marketing/getimage/1445/448/" />

Other Duds:

QBs

Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay Packers – Aaron Rodgers completed 17-of-35 passes for 235 yards and one touchdown and added three rushes for 32 yards and a second score against the Chiefs in Week 15. Not terrible numbers but still a Dud for Mr. Rodgers.

Eli Manning – NY Giants – Eli Manning completed 23-of-40 passes for 257 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions in the Giants’ crippling 23-10 Week 15 loss to the Redskins. I hope you weren’t depending on Manning this week!

Mark Sanchez – NY Jets – Mark Sanchez completed 15-of-26 passes for 150 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Jets’ Week 15 loss to the Eagles. He also lost a fumble in the game. Thanks to garbage time, his numbers weren`t horrific but there is still no doubting the fact that Sanchez is a Dud!

RBs

Adrian Peterson – Minnesota Vikings – Adrian Peterson rushed just 10 times for 60 yards in the Vikings’ Week 15 loss to New Orleans. It may be a bit unfair but when you declare yourself healthy, big things are expected!

LeGarrette Blount – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – LeGarrette Blount rushed for 21 yards on nine carries against the Cowboys in Week 15. Brutal effort once again for a player that should be a whole lot better. He’s a Dud – no question about it!

Roy Helu – Washington Redskins – Roy Helu rushed 23 times for 53 yards and added three catches for 16 yards in the Redskins’ Week 15 win over the Giants. In a game that the Skins dominated, one would have thought Helu would have been more involved!

WRs

Percy Harvin – Minnesota Vikings – Percy Harvin rushed once for a loss of one and caught three passes for eight yards in the Vikings’ Week 15 loss to New Orleans. We knew that the return of Adrian Peterson would affect him but C`mon!

DeSean Jackson – Philadelphia Eagles – DeSean Jackson was held to two catches for 28 yards in the Eagles’ Week 15 blowout of the Eagles. Revis Island strikes again! Still, Jackson is playing for a contract and with Duds like he has delivered this season, he may have burnt a bridge or two!

James Jones – Green Bay Packers – For those of you who were hoping that James Jones would step up in Greg Jennings’ absence, I am sorry. 2 catches for 17 yards lands Jones on the complete and utter Dud list!

Week 15 of the NFL season is on the horizon – Fantasy Football semi-finals time for most of us. With a full slate of games on tap this week, who should we be looking at to guide us to the title? Dave B breaks down every Week 15 game in the weekly Fantasy Matchups – Start and Sit.

Take a look, and let me know what you think!

Jacksonville at Atlanta 8:20 PM

As per usual, Maurice Jones-Drew is absolutely the only Jaguar that you would even think of using – period! For Atlanta, I like all of the usual suspects on National Television. Matt Ryan could start, a slowing Michael Turner can start with tempered expectations, Roddy White, Julio Jones and Tony Gonzalez are all good starts this week.

Dallas at Tampa Bay 8:20 PM

It’s an absolute dream matchup for the Cowboys this week. Tony Romo, Jason Witten, Dez Bryant and Laurent Robinson are all fine plays. I am waiting on Miles Austin 1 more week. He scares me and is only a WR3 right now. Felix Jones is only a flex but if needed could be started. For Tampa Bay, everyone on the team scares me. Mike Williams, LeGarrette Blount and Josh Freeman are only emergency starts at this point of the season.

Miami at Buffalo 1:00 PM

Miami has Brandon Marshall and Reggie Bush to consider – Anthony Fasano at Tight End if absolutely stuck. Stevie Johnson is the only Bill that I trust at this point of the season.

Seattle at Chicago 1:00 PM

Marshawn Lynch can’t be benched against anybody right now – start with confidence. Doug Baldwin has turned into an intriguing flex option as well for the Hawks. For the Bears, I may look at Marion Barber but only a gambling man/woman would start him!

Tennessee at Indianapolis 1:00 PM

It is not clear who will start at quarterback for the Titans but if it is Jake Locker and you are desperate, you could do a whole lot worse especially against a brutal Indianapolis defense. Chris Johnson has been maddening but I am starting him too – it’s Indy after all! Nate Washington and Damian Williams are also decent plays. For the Colts, Reggie Wayne is the only one to consider.

Green Bay at Kansas City 1:00 PM

The usual suspects for Green Bay – Rodgers, Jody Nelson and Jermichael Finely. With Greg Jennings out, James Jones should see more targets and is worth consideration at flex. I am still staying away from the Packers run game despite a good effort from Ryan Grant last week. Dwayne Bowe is the only Chief that is worth even mentioning.

Cincinnati at St. Louis 1:00 PM

Hmm – I am torn when thinking Andy Dalton. He has been good for 180 yards and a score for the last month or so but he is going against the Rams. If you are a river-boat gambler, he may be worth a shot! That means that AJ Green and Jermaine Gresham are good starts here too. Cedric Benson is fine – he gets a crack at the league’s worst run defense and the Bengals defense is fine here too. Steven Jackson and Brandon Lloyd are OK not great starts in Fantasy this week for St. Louis.

New Orleans at Minnesota 1:00 PM

Never bench Drew Brees, Marques Colston or Jimmy Graham. I like Lance Moore to score this week as well. Mark Ingram is risky but could score on a short touchdown and Darren Sproles, especially in PPR leagues is an OK play. If Adrian Peterson returns for the Vikings, he is a good play along with Percy Harvin. That’s it for Minnesota.

Washington at NY Giants 1:00 PM

If desperate, you could do far worse than Rex Grossman in what is sure to be a shootout. He, Santana Moss, Jabar Gaffney and Roy Helu are all fine plays this week believe it or not! For the Giants, you have to continue to roll with Eli Manning, Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz this week. Brandon Jacobs has emerged as a good flex. Jake Ballard is a sneaky Tight End play in this game as well.

Carolina at Houston 1:00 PM

Cam Newton is unbenchable even against Houston’s quality defense. Steve Smith is the only other Panther that I would trust at this point in time. For Houston, Arian Foster is automatic but is the only Texan in play this week. <img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid #ccc"; src="http://ff.connextra.com/resources/BOVADA/Sports/All_Sports/250X250.gif" alt="Bovada - Sports Betting" width="250" height="250">

Detroit at Oakland 4:05 PM

I like Matt Stafford in this game as well as Calvin Johnson. Kevin Smith, if he plays is a risky but intriguing option as well. The other Detroit running backs aren’t worth your time. Take a look at Titus Young and Brandon Pettigrew this week as well – I will not blame you is you bench them however! For the Raiders, Michael Bush appears trustworthy but that’s about it.

New England at Denver 4:15 PM

Brady, Gronkowski, Welker and even Aaron Hernandez are as automatic as they come in Fantasy right now – Start obviously! Yes, I would start Tebow this week. Demaryius Thomas also gets the nod against a brutal Patriots defense. Heck, even Eric Decker may have an OK game. Not sold on Willis McGahee this week however!

NY Jets at Philadelphia 4:15 PM

You can’t bench Shonn Greene this week although I think the wheels will come off just a bit. Santonio Holmes and Plaxico Burress should be OK not great this week as well. I am staying away from Mark Sanchez although this may be his best week in a while. For the Eagles, the only absolute certainties in the lineup are Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy. DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin are simply flex starters – too inconsistent to be in starter territory!

Cleveland at Arizona 4:15 PM

You shouldn’t be considering ANY Browns this week unless you are crazy or have been living on the moon this season. For the Cardinals, Beanie Wells should be productive against a brutal Browns run defense and Larry Fitzgerald is a Stud but could have a tough time against Cleveland’s good pass defense – start both!

Baltimore at San Diego 8:20 PM

The Ravens should find some room against San Diego’s average defense. Start Ray Rice and Torrey Smith this week. Consider Anquan Boldin and Ed Dickson but don’t expect huge numbers. For the Chargers, I think Philip Rivers is an OK play here. Antonio Gates and Vincent Jackson should be fine as well. I am, however, a bit scared of the running game against the Baltimore defense. You may want to start Ryan Matthews but temper your expectations.

Pittsburgh at San Francisco 8:30 PM

If Big Ben plays (and I think he will) he has to be in your lineup along with Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown. Rashard Mendenhall will have a very tough time against the 49ers insane run defense. For the 49ers, Frank Gore is an OK play along with Michael Crabtree – just OK though. Vernon Davis may be the only sure-fire Fantasy option for the 49ers in this game.

Another week of scintillating NFL action is in the books and some of you are still in the hunt for a Fantasy crown. Who can you depend on the rest of the way? Who is best to avoid during the most important time in your Fantasy season?

Dave B breaks down all of the Hot and Not players heading into Week 15 – Good Luck the rest of the way!

Hot

QBs

Tom Brady – New England Patriots – Brady has been scorching Hot in the last five weeks in particular. On Sunday he threw for 3 touchdowns and one interception (his first in five weeks) on the way to yet another win. Brady has 13 touchdowns in his last five games and has averaged 314 yards passing per game over that span. It goes without saying – Brady is Hot!

Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints – Perhaps the only Hotter QB other than Brady is Drew Brees who once again threw for over 300 yards in a win on Sunday. In his last four games Brees has averaged 341 yards passing and has totalled 11 touchdowns with ZERO interceptions.

Aaron Rodgers -Green Bay Packers – I know I sound like a broken record but these three QBs just keep getting it done. Rodgers passed for 281 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday and now has 25 touchdowns and an average of 300.5 yards per game in his last eight games. Brady is absolutely money in the bank right now.

Philip Rivers – San Diego Chargers – Don’t look now but guess who’s Hot? Rivers has tossed three touchdowns and ZERO interceptions in each of his last two games and is finally realizing the potential that most felt he had. I hope it is not too late for Rivers owners!

RBs

Ray Rice – Baltimore Ravens – Rice rushed for 103 yards in Baltimore’s 24-10 win against the Colts in Week 14. One of Rice’s 26 carries was a 6-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. He added six catches for 46 yards. This performance came after Rice rushed for 204 yards in Week 13. He now has 100-plus rushing yards in three of his last four games. Rice said that he feels fresh and is as Hot as RBs come at this point of the season.

Shonn Greene – NY Jets – Greene has four touchdowns in his last two games and has finally assumed unquestioned starter Fantasy status. He had 88 yards rushing and three touchdowns along with 26 yards receiving in Week 13 and 129 yards rushing with a touchdown and 58 yards receiving in Week 14. Finally, patient owners are happy that Greene is Hot!

Marshawn Lynch – Seattle Seahawks – Marshawn Lynch was on an eight-game scoring streak and found the end zone again in the fourth quarter and finished with 115 yards on 23 carries in a 30-13 win. He has hit the century mark for the five of his last six games. A nine game scoring streak is automatically Hot.

Roy Helu – Washington Redskins – Helu has emerged from the pack in Washington and has become Hot because of it. Helu has three straight 100+ yard games and two touchdowns in those games and now gets a crack at a Giants defense that made Felix Jones look very good in Week 15.

Honourable Mention: Ryan Matthews

WRs

Rob Gronkowski – New England Patriots – Gronkowski had six catches for 160 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday to become the all-time leader in single-season touchdown receptions by a tight end. The dude has 10 touchdowns in his last six games to become the Hottest pass catcher in the game. <img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid #ccc"; src="http://banners.affiliatelions.com/marketing/getimage/1445/448/" />

Wes Welker – New England Patriots – Welker hit a “slump” during Weeks 10 and 11 but since has gotten Hot again. Over the last 3 weeks, Welker has averaged 8.66 catches per game, 104 yards and he has scored 3 times – Hot!

Laurent Robinson – Dallas Cowboys – Miles Austin who? Robinson continued to be the most productive receiver on the Cowboys despite the presence of both Miles Austin and Dez Bryant on Sunday to the tune of 4 catches, 137 yards and a touchdown. He now has eight touchdowns in his last seven games.

Not Hot

QBs

Carson Palmer – Oakland Raiders – Palmer is officially off the Fantasy Radar with a one touchdown, four interception performance against Green Bay on Sunday. In his last three games, Palmer has averaged 273 yards per game (mostly in garbage time), has just three total touchdowns and six interceptions – Not Hot!

Joe Flacco – Baltimore Ravens – Flacco had a decent game against Indianapolis but who doesn’t? Flacco has averaged just 182 yards passing per game, has just three total touchdowns and one interception in his last three games. He’s winning games but is Not Hot in Fantasy circles.

Ryan Fitzpatrick – Buffalo Bills – Fitzpatrick has had a couple of games to forget in the last two weeks and certainly is Not Hot at the moment. He has averaged 232 yards passing per game in his last two, has just one touchdown pass and two interceptions. Against Miami in Week 15, Fitzpatrick should remain Not Hot.

Dishonourable Mention: Alex Smith

RBs

Michael Turner – Atlanta Falcons – Turner has tailed off – a Week 14 performance against a brutal Carolina run defense that he torched for 139 yards and two touchdowns in Week 6 is further proof – just 76 yards and no touchdowns. In his last three games, Turner has averaged just 60 yards rushing per game and he hasn’t scored – Not Hot!

Peyton Hillis – Cleveland Browns – Hillis has been back from injury for three games now – he has averaged just 45 yards rushing and hasn’t scored since his return. Arizona is on the horizon – appealing until you realize that Hillis is rapidly losing touches to a more effective Montario Hardesty.

Week 14 is done – the Fantasy playoffs are in full swing and it is time to finalize your roster for the final two weeks in the Fantasy season.

While depth for you roster may not be the main goal at this point in time, there are a couple of intriguing options on the Waiver Wire that could help you on your way to the Championship. Take a gander at Dave B’s Week 15 Waiver Wire and Good Luck the rest of the way!

QBs

Rex Grossman – Washington Redskins – If you were reliant upon Jay Cutler, Matt Schaub or Matt Cassel to guide you to the Fantasy Championship, Rex Grossman could be an option for you. Grossman hasn’t been lights out but he hasn’t been terrible either – 2 touchdown passes in three of his last four games. In Week 15 he gets a crack to the Giants defense that gave up four touchdowns to Tony Romo in Week 14.

Jake Locker – Tennessee Titans – Jake Locker was impressive in relief of Matt Hasselbeck who may or may not sit out Week 15 Locker went 13-for-29 for 282 yards, and a TD and added 6 rushes for 36 yards and a TD against New Orleans and could build on that assuming that he gets the start.

TJ Yates – Houston Texans – Yates threw for 300 yards, two touchdowns and an interception on Sunday and is really coming on for the Texans. He looks comfortable and effective and has a juicy matchup against Carolina in Week 15.

Others to Monitor: Joe Webb, John Skelton

RBs

Felix Jones – Dallas Cowboys – DeMarco Murray broke his ankle on Sunday night. Felix Jones is now the only healthy Cowboys’ running back. Although a backup will be signed, Jones should be in for monster workloads down the stretch as Dallas looks to secure a playoff berth.

Ryan Grant – Green Bay Packers – Starting in place of an injured James Starks, Ryan Grant rushed 10 times for 85 yards and two touchdowns and added one reception for 13 yards in Week 14. With Starks and now Saine banged up, Grant becomes the man in a dream matchup against Kansas City next week.

Marion Barber – Chicago Bears – Barber is probably gone in your league but if not he is a worthwhile add. He had 27 touches for 108 yards and a touchdown in Week 14 – to bad about the fumble in overtime! He has a tough Seattle defense at home in Week 15 but may be worth a look.

Others to Monitor: Chris Ivory, Montario Hardesty, Kahlil Bell, Chauncey Washington, Keiland Williams

WRs

Demaryius Thomas – Denver Broncos – Thomas had an astounding 13 targets on Sunday, grabbing 7 for 78 yards and a touchdown. He is clearly Tim Tebow’s favourite target and will be second to only Felix Jones as the most popular Waiver Wire target.

Titus Young – Detroit Lions – Titus Young caught four passes for 87 yards with a touchdown in the Lions’ Week 14 win over the Vikings. He had seven targets as Calvin Johnson continues to get a ridiculous amount of attention. He is an interesting yet desperate Fantasy prospect in Oakland next week.

Donte Stallworth – Washington Redskins – Donte’ Stallworth caught four passes for 96 yards in the Redskins’ Week 14 loss to the Patriots. He is still the third option in the offense behind Santana Moss and Jabar Gaffney so he is a huge Fantasy risk at this point of the season. <img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid #ccc"; src="http://banners.affiliatelions.com/marketing/getimage/1445/448/" />

Donald Driver – Green Bay Packers – Greg Jennings is gone for the season meaning that there are lots of receptions to replace. Driver stepped up in Week 14 with four catches for 75 yards – he has the most chemistry with Aaron Rodgers other than Jordy Nelson – he is an interesting potential pickup.

Others to Monitor: Kevin Walter

TEs

Jake Ballard – NY Giants – Ballard continues to produce and may be the best of the limited pool of Tight End talent left on the Wire. Ballard had four catches for 52 yards and a touchdown in Week 14 and now has at least three catches and 47 yards in his last three games.

Dallas Clark – Indianapolis Colts – Clark was dropped in most leagues but made his return to the lineup on Sunday. Despite catching only one ball for 13 yards, he was targeted 6 times against Baltimore. Things should be a little easier against Tennessee in Week 15.

Defense

Tennessee Titans – Tennessee is a decent overall squad in every aspect of their defense. In Week 15 they have the honour of playing the Indianapolis Colts. They are a great play in Week 15 if you are not confident about your present DST.

Arizona Cardinals – Arizona has actually been fairly solid lately – 10 sacks in their last 2 games. They have the ability to force the occasional turnover as well. In Week 15, the Cards play a low scoring Cleveland team that could be without Colt McCoy. Even with McCoy, the Cards matchup with the Browns is more than favourable.

Week 14 is almost in the books – Fantasy Playoff Week 1 is winding down. There were some tremendous efforts this week to help owners get to the next round. Unfortunately, there were some brutal performances that may have sent owners packing!

Dave B breaks down all such performances in the Week 14 edition of Studs and Duds.

Studs of the Week:

Maurice Jones-Drew – Jacksonville Jaguars – No doubt about this one! MJD was an absolute beast on Sunday rushing for 85 yards and two touchdowns while racking up 51 receiving yards and two scores. Four touchdowns in a game will make you Stud of the Week any time!

Matt Ryan – Atlanta Falcons – Ryan was the man against Carolina, guiding his team back for an absolutely crucial win. Ryan threw for 320 yards and four touchdowns in his Stud of the Week performance.

Other Studs:

QBs

Tom Brady – New England Patriots – Ho hum – Brady makes the list again! He had 357 yards and three touchdowns in a shootout against Washington. Brady is a Stud –no doubt about it!

Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints – Brees continues his assault on the yardage record and passed for 300 yards for the 10th time this season – 337 yards and two touchdowns in a road win in Tennessee – Stud!

Philip Rivers – San Diego Chargers – Rivers was effective and efficient on Sunday – 2 words that haven’t been part of his résumé lately. He tossed three touchdowns on 240 yards passing to barely become a Stud.

Honourable Mention: Eli Manning, Tony Romo

RBs

Ray Rice – Baltimore Ravens – Rice was a monster for the second straight week on Sunday. He had 103 yards rushing and a touchdown while adding 6 catches for 46 yards in a win over Indianapolis. Rice is a Stud no doubt for sure!

Shonn Greene – NY Giants – Greene is coming alive at the right time for his owners and was a Stud for the second straight week. Greene had 129 yards and a touchdown on the ground while adding 58 yards receiving.

Ryan Grant – Green Bay Packers – Grant is the only healthy running back in Green Bay and looks like he doesn’t want to give up the starting gig. He had 85 yards on just 10 carries with two touchdowns and one catch for 13 yards – an unlikely Stud performance

Honourable Mention: Ryan Matthews, Roy Helu, Brandon Jacobs

WRs

Rob Gronkowski – New England Patriots – Gronk set the NFL record for touchdowns by a TE on Sunday – reason enough to call him a Stud. The dude had 6 catches, 160 yard and 2 touchdowns this week! Gronkowski was very nearly a Stud of the Week but he’ll have to settle for plain old Stud status.

Marques Colston – New Orleans Saints – Colston was huge in a road win for the Saints on Sunday. He had 7 catches, 105 yards and two scores to become a Week 14 Stud.

Julio Jones – Atlanta Falcons – It seems to be all or nothing for Julio Jones this season but thankfully for his owners he was a Stud in Week 14. On Sunday Jones hauled in three balls for 104 yards and two scores – Stud!

Honourable Mention: Antonio Brown, Steve Smith (Car.), Nate Washington, Laurent Robinson <img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid #ccc"; src="http://banners.affiliatelions.com/marketing/getimage/1445/448/" />

Duds of the Week:

Plaxico Burress -NY Jets – Zero catches, zero points – Mega-Dud!

Jermichael Finley – Green Bay Packers – ditto!

Ahmad Bradshaw -NY Giants – You call yourself a pro and you violate a team rule. Bradshaw was benched for the entire first half of the game and ended up with 8 carries for 12 yards. Welcome back to the lineup Dud!

Other Duds:

QBs

Josh Freeman – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Freeman had a very juicy matchup against a brutal Jacksonville pass defense. He managed just 181 yards passing, ZERO touchdowns and two interceptions in a truly Dud performance.

Carson Palmer – Oakland Raiders – Everyone has been lighting up the Packers pass defense lately. Sunday was Carson’s turn- right? Wrong! Palmer had 245 yards passing (mostly in garbage time), one touchdown and four huge interceptions. Palmer has been going downhill for weeks and it culminated with a thud in Week 14.

RBs

Willis McGahee – Denver Broncos – 17 carries for 34 yards? I know that Chicago’s defense is good but C’mon! I am sorry if you were depending on Willis this week!

Chris Johnson – Tennessee Titans – Wow, way to come back down to earth Chris. After two straight 150+ yards effort, Johnson was held to 23 yards on Sunday. His 43 yards receiving was nice but not enough to keep Johnson off the Dud list!

Arian Foster – Houston Texans – Foster was a Top 5 RB play this week and was supposed to be the only thing going for the Texans. He managed only 41 yards rushing and a fumble on Sunday in one of the more disappointing Week 14 efforts.

WRs

Calvin Johnson – Detroit Lions – Has anyone seen the REAL Megatron? Johnson has tailed off in a big way this season and on Sunday he was a Dave B Dud for the first time. 3 catches for 29 yards made it easy to add him to the Duds!

Mike Williams – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Williams had a dream matchup against an injury riddled Jaguars team but had only 3 catches for 35 yards. I am getting used to Williams being a Dud!

Jeremy Maclin – Philadelphia Eagles – When Maclin was declared good to go for Week 14 his owners were ecstatic! How did he reward his patient owners? 1 catch for 13 yards – Dud!
