COLLEGE FOOTBALL TOP 10 POWER RANKINGS
Love this time of year basically half way thru college and pro football. Yesterday the BCS standings were released which I think are usually not always a good power rankings or top 10. They do take several factors into account so they are close but sometimes they are just wrong. Craig uses his power ranking to help him handicap and pick games daily. Below is Craig’s up to date top 10 for college football.
1. Texas- The longhorns have played two very good teams lately and destroyed them both!
2. Penn St- No one has been close to them all year will find out this week if they have chance at BCS title game when they play at OSU!
3. Alabama- They are due to lose one not been playing very well lately. But undefeated in SEC hard to go against them.
4. Oklahoma- Would love to see TEXAS rematch for BCS championship game but seems unlikely. Actually think if PSU stumbles and loses to OSU this week this team could end up with good arguement!
5. Oklahoma St- Very close between them and USC for #5 but have to go with the undefeated team that plays in tougher conference!
6. USC- Well this team might be the best team with one loss but with the weak PAC 10 this year might have trouble getting to the BCS championship game unless some others lose above them!
7. Florida- Very explosive offensively has chance to run the table and play in the championship game. More likely will lose at least one more in very tough SEC!
8. Georgia- Bad loss to Alabama will need a ton of help to win it all this year. But talent level there is no reason they can’t win out!
9. Ohio St- USC ugly loss hurts this teams chances for 3rd straight title game but if they play very well and win this week against PSU they at least will have a chance.
10. Texas Tech- Might be short lived in the top 10 as they will most likely lose this week against Kansas. But very high powered offense always give them a chance!
Use this as one of many handicapping tools to pick winners each week. Looking carefully above you will find this is much different than several polls and BCS rankings. After looking at all the rankings think that Texas and USC is the most likely National Championship matchup but never know a couple upset here or there could make it interesting!
