The Top 25 match ups each week is where most of the eyes turn.

#14 Georgia Tech @ #20 Miami (Miami -5, 53.5) (Thursday 7:45 pm et)

Freddy Wills has a 2.5 Dime (1-5 scale) play on this play for Thursday night and you can purchase it here. The question surrounding this game will be Miami and how much it has improved? Are they ready to really have revenge on Georgia Tech. Tech has defeated Miami 4 times straight up and against the spread.

#10 Boise State @ Fresno State (Boise State -7.5, 53.5) (Friday 9:00 pm et)

Fresno State was really impressive and led most of the way but fell to Wisconsin 34-31 last week as 8 point road dogs. Friday night they will be 8 point under dogs against this time against WAC favorites, Boise State. Fresno lost 61-10 to Boise State last year so revenge could be on their mind! Yet again they have not beaten a ranked opponent since 2004 (9 straight games).

#25 Georgia Tech vs. Eastern Michigan (Michigan -24, 54.5) (Saturday 12 pm et)

Michigan will host Eastern Michigan as 24 point favorites. Michigan comes off its most impressive victory in Rich Rodriguez’s career when they defeated Notre Dame. They will face Eastern Michigan who they defeated last year 33-22 and will try to win their 9th straight against the Eagles.

#8 California @ Minnesota (California -14, 52.5) (Saturday 12:00 pm et)

Minnesota will play its second game in their new home as they defeated Air Force by a TD last week. This week they play host to California the #8 ranked team in the nation behind Jahvid Best and his 10 ypc average. Minnesota has not beaten a ranked opponent in 10 straight games.

#24 North Carolina vs. East Carolina (Michigan -7.5, 42) (Saturday 12 pm et)

It should be a struggle for East Carolina on Saturday when they visit the Tarheels. Not only does North Carolina own the series 8-2-1, but they are coming off a revenge game when they lost in 2007. East Carolina ranked 102nd in total offense.

#5 Penn State vs. Temple (California -30, 45.5) (Saturday 12:00 pm et)

Penn State has not lost to Temple in more than 68 years. In the last three years they have outscored Temple 123-3. Don’t expect much to change on Saturday as the Nittany Lions have looked solid in their first two games.

#22 Kansas vs. Duke (Kansas -23, 51.5) (Saturday 12 pm et)

Freddy had Duke has a winner last week over Army, but this week will be a much more of a challenge for the Blue Devils as they face off against Kansas as more than 3 TD under dogs on the road.

#11 Ohio State @ Toledo (Ohio State -20.5, 57.5) (Saturday 12:00 pm et)

Ohio State will try to rebound on the road this week as they lost a heart breaker at home to USC in the final moments of the game. Ohio State has dominated their state and they are 25-1 against other MAC teams!

#4 Alabama vs. North Texas (Alabama -38.5, 52.5) (Saturday 12:20 pm et)

One final tune up for Alabama before they enter SEC conference play or the real conference as I like to call it. This one could be some what interesting as North Texas head coach was also Alabama QB’s Greg McElroy’s high school coach.

#1 Florida vs. Tennessee (Florida -29.5, 52.5) (Saturday 3:30 pm et)

Florida is really motivated for this one for all the trash talk that head coach Lane Kiffin said in the off season. Little did Kiffin know it’s not as easy as having the talent. Tennessee looked awful last week in a 19-15 loss at home to UCLA. Many just better hope that loss was because they were looking ahead to this game or this could be a longer day than what the spread says.

#12 Oklahoma vs. Tulsa (Oklahoma -17.5, 58) (Saturday 3:30 pm et)

Tulsa led the nation the last two years in offense and they are currently 10th. Despite Sam Bradford still injured look for this one to be high scoring game all the way through. In the end Oklahoma has much more talent and should be the team left standing.

#13 Virginia Tech vs. #19 Nebraska (Virginia Tech -5.5, 52) (Saturday 3:30 pm et)

Nebraska is on some sweet revenge, but they’ll have to get it on Virginia Tech’s home turf. VT has not lost at home to a non-conference opponent in 31 straight games. Nebraska has looked solid in their first two games with 984 total yards on offense.

#3 USC @ Washington (USC -18.5, 52.5) (Saturday 3:30 pm et)

USC will open up their Pac-10 schedule when they visit Washington on Saturday. They will be facing athletic QB Jake Locker and their former Offensive Coordinator, Steve Sarkisian.

#18 Utah @ Oregon (Oregon -5, 52) (Saturday 3:30 pm et)

Although Utah is the ranked team Oregon finds themselves as the 5 point favorites. Oregon has won 28 of 30 at home against non-conference teams including 5-0 against ranked teams. I would say Utah’s 16 game win streak is in jeopardy.

#17 Cincinnati @ Oregon State (Cincinnati -1, 55) (Saturday 6:45 pm et)

Another Pac-10 that succeeds at home vs. non-conference opponents. That’s 26 straight, but they will face a tough test here on Saturday as they face a Big East opponent in Cincinnati, which has put up 117 points already this year.

#9 LSU vs Louisiana-Lafayette (LSU -27, 52) (Saturday 7:00 pm et)

LSU will face the Cajuns who have started their season 2-0, but have not started 3-0 since 1988. It appears as 27 point under dogs they won’t again. LSU has defeated 22 in state opponents in a row!

#16 Oklahoma State vs Rice (Oklahoma State -32.5, 62.5) (Saturday 7:00 pm et)

After losing to Houston from Conference USA last weekend, Oklahoma State will try to bounce back from another Conference USA opponent in Rice. Lucky for them Rice has not beaten a Big-12 opponent since 1994 and they will be 32.5 point under dogs on the road this week.

#7 Brigham Young vs Florida State (BYU -7.5, 54.5) (Saturday 7:00 pm et)

BYU will play their first home game this season with their highest ranking since 1996 thanks to their week 1 win over Oklahoma. Florida State really has been awful against the pass and should struggle against BYU and Max Hall despite having more athletes and speed.

#15 TCU vs Texas State (TCU) (Saturday 7:00 pm et)

TCU shut down Virginia in its first game and now they will face an easier opponent in Texas State.

#5 Mississippi vs Southeastern Louisiana (Saturday 7:30 pm et)

SE Louisiana is 0-10 vs. FBS and they faced a ranked opponent in Mississippi on the road. There will be no spread in this game.

#23 Georgia @ Arkansas (Georgia -1.5, 52.5) (Saturday 7:45 pm et)

Georgia defeated South Carolina in their first SEC opener and now they will host another in Arkansas. Arkansas can score the points as QB Ryan Mallett threw for 309 yards against Missouri State and will make his first start against the SEC, known for its defense.

#2 Texas vs Texas Tech (Texas -17.5, 66) (Saturday 8:00 pm et)

Will revenge be enough for Texas to beat Texas Tech at home. It was Michael Crabree’s touch down at the end of the game that ruined Texas’ hope for a National Title last year. Texas Tech has not seemed to miss a beat. Texas Tech has replaced Graham Harrell with Taylor Potts, who has thrown nine touchdowns in two games.
