NFL Futures Betting - 2008 Pittsburgh Steelers Wagering Outlook
After posting an impressive 10-6 record and winning the AFC North for the BetUS Sportsbook NFL online sports wagering fraternity in 2007 in head coach Mike Tomlin’s first season at the helm, the Pittsburgh Steelers, (10-6 SU, 8-8 ATS, 8-8 O/U) head into the 2008 NFL regular season looking to improve in every facet of the game while moving another step closer to what they hope will be an AFC Championship at the very least.

The Steelers posted identical 8-8 records for online NFL bettors both, against the spread, (ATS) and in Over/Under, (O/U) wagers while going 5-3 ATS at home and 3-5 ATS on the road and an identical 4-4 in O/U wagers both at home and on the road.
The Steelers lost All-Pro guard Alan Faneca, who bolted for the New York Jets in free agency and also parted ways with veterans, cornerback/return man Allen Rossum, wide receiver Cedric Wilson and linebacker Cliff Hagans, but added three veteran players in linebacker Kevaron Fox, center Justin Hartwig and running back Mewelde Moore.

The Steelers also added fleet-footed rookie running back Rashard Mendhall after watching starting running back Willie Parker derail the Steelers’ Super Bowl plans with a late-season injury that stole the team’s running game for the postseason.
Pittsburgh should also be a bit better in the air in 2008 with the continued maturation of starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and wide receiver Santonio Holmes and the addition of rookie wideout Limas Sweed.
For those BetUS online NFL bettors who know that the way to win a championship in any sport is through defense, the Steelers should really look good going into 2008 as the team ranked first in yards allowed per game, second in points allowed per game and third in both, passing and rushing defense.
