Raiders and Titans Battle for Improvement
The Oakland Raiders should be a good team this season. Yes, that’s a strong statement, but after watching their first pre-season game of the year, I’ve come to that conclusion. NFL betting fans had better pay attention to this NFL doormat of a year ago.

First, they have two excellent running backs in Justin Fargas and Darren McFadden. From what I saw, opposing defenses should be downright scared of McFadden. He can take a hit, has the speed to get to the outside, and isn’t afraid to run between the tackles. He will make a few rookie mistakes, but I don’t see him making too many.

The guy’s a football player. The Raiders also just signed Adam Archuleta whom they will play at the outside linebacker position. Archuleta will add speed to an already very good line-backing corp.
The defense is good, JeMarcus Russell appears ready to lead, and the offensive-line should be good enough to help out Fargas and McFadden. This team could really turn things around in the 2008 – 2009 NFL Odds Season.
The Tennessee Titans didn’t make as many glaring changes during the off-season as the Oakland Raiders. Football betting fans should note that Vince Young’s progress has continued during this past off-season and training camp.
Young should have a good season, but without a true Pro Bowl wide receiver to throw the ball to, I have my doubts as to how far this team will go in the playoffs. They should make the playoffs, though, because they are expertly coached and the defense is very good.
Here are the BetUS sportsbook NFL betting odds for this NFL Pre-season game.
Oakland Raiders + 4 ½ - 110 O 34 - 110
Tennessee Titans - 4 ½ - 110 U 34 - 110
Like the Philadelphia Eagles and Donovan McNabb in their game versus the Panthers on Thursday, the Tennessee Titans cannot afford to get Vince Young hurt in an NFL Pre-season game. Young is the Titans’ franchise.
Like the Carolina Panthers in their game versus the Eagles on Thursday, the Raiders go two deep at the running back position. Both Fargas and McFadden are good enough to make the Pro Bowl this season. We need to remember that when the regular season starts and the Raiders are huge underdogs against teams like the Denver Broncos and San Diego Chargers.
That’s how good this Raiders team could be.
So, if that’s the case, then is there any doubt where I’m going in this game? The Raiders will be receiving close to five points in this NFL Pre-season game. I have to take the Raiders and the points.
They should give McFadden and Fargas a lot of work in preparation for the season opener. Because JeMarcus Russell will be the starter this season, and it’s only his second year, he should take more snaps then the usual starting quarterback in a pre-season game.
I’ll be making an online wager on the Oakland Raiders to beat the spread at + 4 ½ - 110 in the BetUS online sportsbook.
