NFL Futures Betting - 2008 Oakland Raiders Wagering Outlook
Just one season after posting a dismal 4-12 record in the BetUS Sportsbook, the Oakland Raiders, (4-12 SU, 6-10 ATS, 10-5-1 O/U) head into the 2008 NFL betting regular season with a renewed hope for success after making several additions to their roster that they believe will dramatically improve their chances for success in head coach Lane Kiffin’s second season at the helm of one of the most storied franchise in league history.

After posting pedestrian statistics in almost every offensive category last season, except for rushing where the team ranked sixth overall, the Raiders will enter the 2008 season with a revamped offense that should be much better, depending on the maturation process of 2007 No. 1 overall draft pick, quarterback JaMarcus Russell, who missed the majority of last year’s training camp after protracted contract talks left the athletically gifted signal quarterback way behind his learning curve.
While Russell will be, for all intents and purposes, a rookie this season, the Raiders added several players that should take a ton of pressure off of Russell, starting with the 2008 draft’s best running back, former Arkansas Razorback, Darren McFadden.

The Raiders also added veteran wide receivers, Drew Carter and Javon Walker to help upgrade their mediocre receiving core from a year ago.
Oakland also made some significant additions on the defensive side of the ball, acquiring All-Pro cornerback DeAngelo Hall from the Atlanta Falcons and defensive linemen, Kalimba Edwards, William Joseph and Greg Spires in addition to veteran safety Gibril Wilson and cornerback Michael Waddell and drafting cornerback Tyvon Branch.
The Raiders also brought back former quarterback Marques Tuiasosopo and signed rookie Sam Keller to back up Russell and No. 2 signal caller Andrew Walter.
Despite their uninspiring 4-12 straight up mark in 2007, the Raiders approached .500 with their ATS record, going 6-10 against the spread overall, but an impressive 4-4 against the spread on the road.
BetUS online NFL betting fans should also know that the Raiders recorded a stellar 10-5-1 record in Over/Under, (O/U) wagers, including a solid 6-2 in O/U wagers on the road.
