While the start of the 2008 NCAA Football regular season is still nearly two months away, the BetUS NCAA Football online sports wagering community gets an excellent football betting opportunity to increase their 2008 college football seasonal bankrolls in addition to the normal game-day NCAA wagering action with added college football betting opportunities like this one from the clever BetUS oddsmakers with ingenious futures wagers like this one in the BetUS Sportsbook.

Now, with that in mind, let’s look at the NCAA college football odds to win the Big 12 Conference in 2008.

Odds To Win Big 12 Conference

Oklahoma +150
(11-3 SU, 7-2 (C) 7-7 ATS, 6-7 O/U)

The Sooners have national championship talent, now, if only they can play their best ball of the season heading into the BCS Bowl game season. Sophomore quarterback Sam Bradford is blossoming into a fine leader, and the team returns its entire starting offensive line from a year ago. While the offense looks nearly unstoppable, the Sooners have some questions to answer on defense after losing starting linebacker Curtis Lofton ad cornerback Reggie Smith, both of whom bolted early to play in the NFL.

Texas +200
(10-3 SU, 5-3 (C) 7-6 ATS, 9-4 O/U)

Junior quarterback Colt McCoy needs to get back to playing like he did in his freshman season after regressing last season and the Longhorns will need to find suitable replacements for running back Jamaal Charles and wide receiver Limas Sweed. Texas also returns just one starter from its horrific defensive secondary which allowed 277.7 passing yards per game last season.

Missouri +300
(12-2 SU, 7-2 (C) 10-3 ATS, 8-5 O/U)

At +300 the Tigers are clearly the best wager on the board for a team with a legitimate shot of actually winning the Conference title. Quarterback Chase Daniel and multi-purpose, wide receiver, running back, returner Jeremy Macklin look like All-Americans and future NFL players if you ask me! With an underrated, but highly effective defense, the Tigers are my surprise pick to win the conference title.

Kansas +600
(12-1 SU, 7-1 (C) 11-1 ATS, 5-7 O/U)

The Jayhawks will be very good under coach Mark Mangino once again but do have some big holes to fill from a team that literally shocked the entire college football world last season. Quarterback Todd Reesing is heady and makes great decision running the team’s solid offense, but the Jayhawks lost both starting tackles from a year ago, not to mention gifted cornerback Aqib Talib, who bolted for the greener pastures of the NFL.

Texas Tech +800
(9-4 SU, 4-4 (C) 6-6 ATS, 5-7 O/U)

Offense will not be a problem for Texas Tech in 2008 as the Red Raiders have ten starters returning to the second best offensive unit in all of football last season. With a defense that is better than most people think,

the Red Raiders could be a big surprise for everyone but themselves and are one of the best bets in the conference to actually win the league championship.

Colorado +1000
(6-7 SU, 4-4 (C) 6-7 ATS, 7-6 O/U)

After going 6-7 to reach the Independence Bowl in head coach Dan Hawkins’s second season, the Colorado Buffaloes are a team to watch out for going into 2008. Expect this team to be strong on the defensive side of the ball while still growing on offense.

Nebraska +1000
(5-7 SU, 2-6 (C) 3-9 ATS, 6-6 O/U)

After thoroughly enjoying seeing the Cornhuskers flounder miserably under former head coach Bill Callahan last season, Nebraska is headed in a new direction under new head coach Bo Pelini. Expect a decent offense from Nebraska in 2008 but a mediocre defense at best as Pelini finishes weeding out the rest of Callahan’s former players while implementing his own touch on the program.

Texas A&M +2000
(7-6 SU, 4-4 (C) 5-7 ATS, 5-6 O/U)

Former Green Bay Packers leader Mike Sherman returns to his former employer and inherits a talented backfield in running backs, Jovorski Lane and Mike Goodson. Unfortunately, this team needs to fix its offensive line problems in a big way while simultaneously replacing most of the members of their front seven on the defensive side of the ball.

Oklahoma State +2500
(7-6 SU, 4-4 (C) 6-6 ATS, 6-6 O/U)

Quarterback Zac Robinson is a spectacular do-it-all athlete for the Cowboys and will be even better in 2008, but the team failed miserably on defense last season, particularly pass defense. If the Cowboys can address some of their problems on defense, they could improve slightly in 2008.

Kansas State +4000
(5-7 SU, 3-5 (C) 5-6 ATS, 8-3 O/U)

The Wildcats should improve in 2008 after taking a step backwards last season. Junior quarterback Josh Freeman, along with the team’s offensive line will all likely be better than last season, though wideout Jordy Nelson will now be playing on Sunday’s in the NFL. The team returns just five starters on defense.

Baylor +6000
(3-9 SU, 0-8 (C) 4-7-0 ATS, 6-5 O/U)

Former Houston head coach Art Briles brings his exciting brand of offense to Waco, Texas, but this team has too far to go for Briles to get a team that went just 3-9 last season, back to respectability in just one season. However, expect some excitement out of this team if nothing else.

Iowa State +7500
(3-9 SU, 2-6 (C) 6-5 ATS, 4-7 O/U)

Head coach Gene Chizik played a ton of inexperienced youngsters in his first season last year and struggled to find consistency all season long on offense, though the team was fairly solid on defense. Expect the Cyclones to improve in 2008 by two or three wins in 2008.
