BetUS: The
second-ranked Kansas Jayhawks, (20-0 SU, 13-5
ATS, 9-9 O/U) are arguably the best collegiate
basketball team in America at the moment, but
that fact will certainly be lost on in-state
rivals No. 22, Kansas State, heading into
tonight’s showdown
with the Wildcats, (14-4 SU, 7-5 ATS, 8-4
O/U).
The schools
will meet as ranked teams for the first
time in nearly 50 years as they face, arguably,
the best player in the country in Kansas
State freshman phenom, Michael Beasley,
who has already gone on record – along
with head coach Frank Martin – as saying
the Wildcats were going to win this game
on the road.
"We're going to beat Kansas at home.
We're going to beat them in their house.
We're going to beat them in Africa," Beasley
said before the season.
Martin backed
up his star player by saying, "Wherever
we play, we're going to beat them. Mike said
what he felt in his heart," Martin said
Monday. "It's what he believes. He didn't
come here to lose to Kansas."
Beasley, leads the Big 12 in scoring, (25.3
points per game) and rebounding (12.7), but
Kansas has beaten the Wildcats in 35 of the
last 36 meetings, including 24 consecutive
times in Manhattan.
The Jayhawks spanked Nebraska 84-49 on Saturday
while the Wildcats beat Iowa State 82-57
on Saturday also.
