NBA Betting Top Five ATS Showdown - Orlando Magic at Detroit Pistons
With the
jaw-dropping success of the Boston
Celtics’ newly formed ‘Big
Three’ this season, it seems as
though the Detroit Pistons, (39-13 SU,
30-21-1 ATS, 23-28-1 O/U) may be getting
shortchanged a bit in national recognition
department, particularly seeing as how
the Pistons have won ten consecutive
games in the BetUS.com Sportsbook going
into this past weekend’s annual
all-star break.
The Orlando Magic, (33-21 SU, 33-20-1
ATS, 27-25-2 O/U), on the other hand,
have gotten plenty of national attention
for their fast first-half start and high-flying
theatrics of power forward Dwight Howard,
the 2008 all-star slam dunk contest winner.
When it comes
to style versus substance though, it
is the Pistons who are at the head of
the class, having beaten the Magic seven
consecutive times at home, including
a solid 101-93 victory on Jan. 25.
Now, the veteran Pistons are just looking
to keep their flow going despite being
interrupted by the all-star break.
"We've got a really good rhythm
going right now," shooting guard
Richard Hamilton said.
Despite
Detroit’s spectacular
straight up success in its last ten games,
the Pistons have gone a mediocre 5-5
against the spread in their last ten
games. However, the Magic have had even
bigger problems covering the spread recently
going an unspectacular 4-5-1 against
the spread in their last ten games.
Here
is a look at tonight’s key
trends, followed by my analysis and NBA
Betting Free Picks.
The Magic are 4-1 ATS in their last
5 Tuesday games.
The Magic are 12-4-1 ATS in their last
17 games as a road underdog.
The Pistons are 7-1-1 ATS in their last
9 games vs. a team with a winning S.U.
record.
The Over is 5-0-1 in Magic last 6 games
following a S.U. win.
The Over is 7-0 in Pistons last 7 vs.
NBA Southeast.
The Over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings.
The Over is 10-1 in the last 11 meetings
in Detroit.
Analysis:
While I like the Pistons to win this
game and continue their winning ways,
I think the spread may be just a bit
too high for them to cover tonight.
Take the Magic to cover as 7½ point
underdogs.
