Atlanta beat Phoenix 105-96 very early in
the season at the Phillips Arena. The Hawks
are not putting many wins on the board lately
(just one in their last six) despite losing
a pair to Portland by a combined three points
over the last week.
Phoenix's long-range shooters seem to have
taken the day off on Sunday in Chicago, as
they made just five shots from beyond the
arc (they had 50 in the previous four games).
Meanwhile, five three-pointers would have
been an above-average night for the Atlanta
crew, which doesn't have the downtown shot
in their arsenal to make up larger deficits.
And they may to do just that; Atlanta is
last in the league in scoring on the road,
at a paltry 88.9 ppg. And Phoenix is #1 in
the NBA with 112.5 points at home. With a
revenge motive and a team that is now starting
to cover numbers (6-1 ATS in their last seven),
the Phoenix Suns make this a bad matchup
for Atlanta.
That's why we side with the Suns, the nine-point
favorite in the BetUS NBA betting odds.
