NBA Basketball Betting - Washington at Denver
BetUS: WHO:
Los Angeles Clippers (15-31 SU, 20-26 ATS)
at Toronto Raptors (26-21 SU, 27-20 ATS)
WHERE: Air Canada Centre in Toronto
WHEN: Friday, February 8 at 7 PM ET
BetUS NBA basketball betting odds: TORONTO
-9, Total 196.5
In the HEAD-to-HEAD NBA betting trends:
* TOR has covered five of the last six meetings
* TOR has won four of the last six meetings
SU
* Nine of the last 13 meetings have gone
UNDER the total
* TOR has covered four of the last five
meetings as the home team
* TOR has won seven of the last ten meetings
SU as the home team
* Eight of the last 12 meetings in Toronto
have gone OVER the total
* LA has had the shooting edge in seven
of the last eight meetings
* TOR has made more three-pointers in five
of the last six meetings
The Clippers have a minus-4.8 point differential,
and hit just 4.2 three-point shots per game,
which does not represent much long-range
firepower. Also:
* LA has won and covered two of its last
eight games
* LA has covered one of its last seven road
games
* LA has lost 10 of its last 11 road games
SU
* LA has played four of its last six road
games OVER the total
Toronto has twice as many assists as it
does turnovers. The Raptors are a better
shooting team than Los Angeles, hitting 46.1%
from the floor. And they are second best
in the league at making their free throws
(81%). Also:
* TOR has own and covered nine of its last
13 games
* TOR has played six of its last seven games
OVER the total
* TOR has won and covered six of its last
seven home games
* TOR has played five of its last seven
home games OVER the total
Toronto is in a take-no-prisoners mode against
many opponents lately, and you can certainly
count a foe like this in that category -
the Raps are 12-4 ATS laying four points
or more at home. Against the Heat, T.J. Ford
came back to action, as he is somewhat recovered
from neck and back injuries. That's not only
inspirational, but it also gives Toronto
some unusual depth at the point guard position.
Jose Calderon, who had been filling in, has
been simply outstanding, with a 3-to-1 ratio
of assists to turnovers and an accurate shooting
eye. Now Toronto can do some mixing and matching
in the backcourt.
The Clippers
do not have a healthy situation right now.
And star Elton Brand, who's going to be
a free agent at the end of the season,
may not have any teammates to come back
to if he is able to rebound from injury
and play this year. Sam Cassell now reportedly
wants a contract buyout (he denied a Boston
Globe report that he wants to play for the
Celtics), and the Clippers are interested
in listening to offers for a few of their "marquee" players,
including Corey Maggette. It may be some "addition
by subtraction" they way it was in Portland
when they got rid of Zach Randolph, but for
now, L.A.'s "other" team has to
deal with the fact that it has covered just
four out of 14 times when getting six points
or more as a road underdog.
We will lay the points with Toronto, the
nine-point favorite in the BetUS NBA basketball
betting odds.
