MLB Baseball Betting Action - Phillies Take on Rockies
I really
went out on a limb in the BetUS Locker
Room on Tuesday, predicting the Philadelphia
Phillies’ (30-24,
24-30 RL) 7-4 victory over the Colorado
Rockies, (20-32, 19-33 RL) in last night’s
sports betting matchup, which Philadelphia
easily won 7-4. It’s like predicting
Big Brown to show in the 2008 Belmont
Stakes.
Okay, okay,
I’m just kidding about
yesterday’s prediction since a
blind man can see that Phillies are on
an offensive roll that hasn’t been
seen in either league so far this season.
After scoring
42 runs over the past three games in
the BetUS Sportsbook, the Phillies
and their imposing batting order enter
tonight’s baseball
betting series finale against the Rockies
looking to complete a three-game online
betting sweep over the team that beat
them in last season’s NLCS, denying
them a trip to the World Series.

"They have a good offensive club," said
Rockies manager Clint Hurdle.
Chase Utley has hit two homers and driven
in 10 runs during the last three games
while third baseman Pedro Feliz has gone
7-for-15 with seven RBIs and is batting
a scorching .457 (16-for-35) during an
eight-game hitting streak.

Reigning
NL MVP shortstop Jimmy ‘J-Roll’ Rollins
has hit .365 in the last 14 games, stealing
six bases and scoring 11 runs while outfielder
Shane Victorino has recorded a hit in
nine consecutive games while going a
robust 16-for-39 (.410) with 11 runs
and four steals.
2006 NL MVP Ryan Howard is also starting
to heat up for the Phillies, bopping
eight home runs while driving in 20 runs
over the last 16 games while batting
.295.
The Rockies, losers of five of their
last seven games overall, will turn to
talented young right-hander, Greg Reynolds
(0-1, 4.08 ERA), the second overall pick
in the 2006 draft who will be making
just his fourth major league start.
Reynolds
limited the struggling New York Mets
to one run on two hits in five innings
before allowing two home runs in the
sixth, while giving up just four runs
total in Colorado’s 6-5 extra
innings win on Friday.
The Phillies are hoping mediocre veteran
starter Adam Eaton (0-3, 5.37 ERA), can
pick up just his second victory in his
last 21 starts. Eaton allowed three runs
on eight hits in seven innings of a 4-3
road defeat to the Houston Astros on
Friday.
Here
is a look at tonight’s key
trends followed by my MLB Betting Picks.
The Rockies are 0-7 in their last seven
road games vs. a team with a winning
home record.
The Rockies are 0-4 in their last four
road games vs. a right-handed starter.
The Phillies
are 2-5 in Eaton’s
last seven starts as a home favorite.
The Phillies
are 0-4 in Eaton’s
last four starts.
The Under is 4-0 in Rockies last four
Wednesday games.
The Under
is 4-0-1 in Eaton’s
last five starts with the total set at
9.0-10.5.
The Over is 4-1 in the last five meetings.
The Over is 4-1 in the last five meetings
in Philadelphia.
Analysis:
I know Philly’s Adam
Eaton takes the definition of the word
mediocre to a whole new level and that
the Rockies’ young starter is very
talented, but I’m going with the
red-hot Phillies to help Eaton get a
big win in this contest while the Phillies
come through in the later innings with
their big bats.
