Football Betting - Chargers Fight Vikings
The Chargers
seem to be getting their wheels back
after losing three games in a row, quelling
the calls for new head coach Norv Turner’s head and giving
back hope to a fan base that was almost
ready to throw in the towel. Last year’s
league MVP, LaDainian Tomlinson, seemed
to be depressed about his team’s
lack of success and no one know what to
do. After consecutive losses to Green Bay
and Kansas City, two teams no one expected
much out of in 2007, the NFL betting community
almost gave up on them as well.
San Diego
Chargers –7.5 at Minnesota
Vikings +7.5
It is amazing what three straight wins
against far inferior teams will do for
the confidence of a team, its fans and
those who like to pick that team when betting
on football.
While whooping
the Broncos, then beating the Raiders
and Texans is not something a championship
quality team should hang their hat on
this season, it does bode well for walking
out of Minnesota with another notch in
the win column. The reason behind this
is the one-dimensional play of the Vikings’ offense.
Put straight,
the Vikings have no passing game whatsoever.
Not only can they not pass, they can’t
stop the pass. That is not going to be
fun with Philip Rivers and Antonio Gates
coming to town with a new decoy named
Chris Chambers, who was given to them
as a gift by the worst team in the NFL
by far, the Miami Dolphins.
All the Chargers have to do in this game
is stuff the box and slow down rookie phenomenon
Adrian Peterson, who is going to be a great
running back in the NFL if he can remain
healthy, but who will find a hard time
gaining big yards against the 7th-ranked
rushing defense that San Diego is bringing
to town.

While
the Vikings do have a chance to slow down
LT2 early, Rivers targets downfield will
allow the Chargers to open up the field
and hand the Vikings their worst loss of
the season. It is gut-check time in Minny
for both teams in this game, and the visitors
are in far better shape.
