NFL Wagering - New Orleans Saints (-3) at Carolina Panthers (+3)
Though New
Orleans Saints, (4-6 SU, 3-7 ATS, 5-5
O/U) and Carolina Panthers, (4-6 SU,
4-6 ATS, 3-7 O/U) have been two of the
league’s biggest disappointments
this season – and currently sport
similar 4-6 losing records, the fact remains
that anything is possible in the weak NFC
these days and both of these teams are
still holding on to their respective postseason
hopes.
If either team wants to fulfill their
playoff wishes however, they had better
start winning consistently, something neither
franchise has done at all this season.
Despite
that fact, this week’s
matchup could be the place to start for
both clubs.
The Saints are ranked seventh in overall
offense, averaging 350.8 yards and 21.2
points per game.
The Panthers have been much more offensively
challenged this season, coming into this
game ranked 25th in overall and averaging
300.5 yards and just 16.7 points per game
Defensively, the Saints are ranked 27th
overall, allowing a whopping 355.9 yards
and 24.6 points per game. Carolina, which
has fielded perennial defensive juggernauts
under head coach John Fox, is ranked 14th
in overall defense, allowing 321.2 yards
and 21.2 points per game.
The Saints lost to the Houston Texans
23-10 last week while the Panthers come
into this contest off their own 31-17 loss
to the Green Bay Packers last week.

Although I am a bit angry at the Saints
for not covering last week, I’m going to give this inconsistent
team another chance to increase the annual
football bankroll. While the Panthers have
a good defense it’s hard to win when
your team can’t score. Take the Saints
to cover in a thriller.
