Bet on Football: Eagles (+24) vs. Patriots (-24)
I really
didn’t want to have to
write about this game, but, my god - -
24 points? It’s getting more and
more ridiculous out there! Considering
that the Eagles might be one of the better
teams in the NFC, record not withstanding,
I have nothing to say about a 24 point
spread in the NFL.
Okay, I actually
have a lot to say about it. Just this
past Tuesday morning Colin Cowherd, of
ESPN, one of my favorite guys on the
radio, began replacing the word “great” with “Brady”.
So, for instance,
Tony the Tiger would say, “They’rrre Brrrady!” Instead
of, “They’rrre Grrrreat!”
Cool, huh?
That’s how good this
Patriot’s team is.
Okay, I
have to take a deep breath before I say
anymore. Let’s take a look
at a couple of trends before getting ga-ga
again over the Patriots:
The Philadelphia Eagles are 6 and 2 against
the spread in their last 8 road games.
The New England Patriots are 9 and 1 against
the spread this year.
Yes, that’s correct. The Patriots
are 9 and 1 against the spread this year.
It’s not like those spreads have
been a piddly 3 to 10 points. Nope. For
the Patriots’ the spreads have averaged
between 12 to 20 points. Wow.
Patriots
games are almost like a roulette will
with every single number red. That’s
how automatic they have become. Maybe Tom
Brady and Bill Belichick have a sixth sense
in their heads about what the spread is.
Heck, maybe they are making the line themselves.
In any case, they’re impossible to
beat.
And, yes,
maybe I’m a sucker. I
don’t know. I can’t do it.
I can’t put money on the Patriots
in this game. I have to believe that the
Eagles, the Andy Reid coached Eagles, have
too much pride to lose by more than - -
I don’t know - - 21 points.
I just have
to. Because if I don’t
believe that the greatest game in the world,
NFL football Betting, will have become
nothing but a question of numbers. Where’s
the heart, baby?
Step it up Brian Westbrook! Step it up
Jimmie Johnson coached Eagles D!
Please?
The BetUS line is Philadelphia Eagles
+ 24 against the spread on the road versus
the New England Patriots.
I may hate
myself on Monday morning - - after the
hangover wears off - - but I’m
going with the Eagles.
I just have to.
