Football Betting: Kansas City (+ 14.5) vs. Indianapolis (- 14.5)
Okay, now
the Colts haven’t lost
three games in a row since 2003. So, the
chances of the Chiefs pulling off an upset
is pretty minimal.
But, any time I see a 1 followed by another
number in a point spread, I have to take
a look. This is the NFL where teams routinely
play each other very tough. The Colts are
favored in this game by more than two touchdowns.
Two touchdowns! Normally, I would always
go with the team getting over two touchdowns,
but the Chiefs made a key change in their
line-up, which I will get too shortly,
that makes me wonder about this game.
Before getting to that, throw out the
trends and just take a peek at the injury
report for the Indianapolis Colts:
Dallas Clark – Probable
Marvin Harrison – Doubtful
Dwight Freeney – I-R
Anthony Gonzalez – Out
Bob Sanders – Questionable
That’s virtually a who’s-who
of the Indianapolis Colts! How deep are
the Colts if they can lose four key players
- - Harrison, Freeney, Clark, and Sanders
- - for one game and then still win by
more than two touchdowns? Who are these
guys? The Justice League?
But, the Chiefs made a key line-up change.
Instead of going with Damon Huard, who
is listed as day-to-day on the injury report,
the Chiefs will start Bradie Croyle at
quarterback. So, what happens now?
You’ve
got the banged-up Colts versus a quarterback
who could be Joe Montana or Bubby Brister.
You just
don’t know. Stay away from
this game? Hog-wash!
The spread
is 14.5. Croyle’s passer
rating so far this year is a paltry 74.7.
That looks bad and Larry Johnson, the KC
RB, is out, but wait - - the Colts injuries,
the fact that the line is so high - - I
don’t know. I’ve got to say.
I’m feeling the Chiefs.
The BetUS NFL betting line is Kansas City
Chiefs + 14.5 against the spread versus
the Indianapolis Colts.

Take
the Chiefs because the Chiefs D will actually
play better in this one than the Colts
D. The Colts D won’t
be able to overcome the loss of both Freeney
and Sanders and that means that the Chiefs
beat this spread.
