BetUS: While
the Boston Celtics and San Antonio Spurs, have
gotten the lion’s share
of the national media attention coming out
of the NBA in the early going of the 2007-08
season, the Phoenix Suns have quietly gone
about their stated business of reaching the
NBA Finals without nearly as much fanfare
as the team has become accustomed to the
past three seasons.
Nevertheless, the Suns, (15-4 SU, 9-10 ATS,
11-8 O/U), are absolutely on fire at the
moment and enter this matchup coming off
their highest offensive output of the season
Wednesday night as they beat the Toronto
Raptors 136-123 while watching seven players
reach double figures in scoring.
Power forward Amare Stoudemire is looking
mire and more like the unstoppable player
he was developing into just a couple of seasons
ago before undergoing microfracture surgery.
Stoudemire’s
21.1 points per game lead the Suns and
their five players who average at least
15.7 points per game.
The Washington
Wizards, (9-9 SU, 11-7 ATS, 11-7 O/U),
are only a mediocre 9-9 at this point of
the young season, but if there’s
one thing the Wizards can do, it’s
score the basketball.
Washington has scored at least 100 points
in 11 of its last 13 games despite playing
most of those games without their best scorer,
Gilbert Arenas who will be out of the Wizards;
lineup until at least February.
The Wizards are 9-3 this season when they
score at least 100 points and come into this
contest off a solid 105-86 victory over the
LeBron James-less Cleveland Cavaliers on
Wednesday.
The teams split games last season with Washington
winning an overtime thriller 144-139 in Phoenix
last season, but losing at home badly, 127-105.
All-star forward Caron Butler is averaging
23.2 points per game on a blistering 53 percent
shooting from the field, both career highs.
Washington also gets 21.6 points per game
from their other all-star forward Antawn
Jamison but not much else after those two
as no other player on the roster averages
double figures in scoring besides the injured
Arenas.
Here is a look
at tonight’s key trends,
followed by my analysis and Free NBA Betting
picks:
Key Suns Trends
The Suns are 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13
games following a ATS win.
The Suns are 1-4 ATS in their last five
when their opponent scores 100 points or
more in their previous game.
The Suns are 1-6 ATS in their last seven
Friday games.
Key Wizards Trends
The Wizards are 5-1 ATS in their last six
games following a SU win of more than ten
points.
The Wizards are 5-1 ATS in their last six
home games.
The Wizards are 4-1 ATS in their last five
games overall.
Key Totals Trends
The Over is 4-0 in Suns last four games
following a S.U. win.
The Over is 4-0 in Suns last four overall.
The Over is 5-0 in Wizards last five home
games.
The Over is 6-0 in Wizards last six vs.
Western Conference.
Key Head-to-Head Trends
The Over is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings.
The Suns are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings
in Washington.
The Road team is 4-0 ATS in the last four
meetings.
Analysis: This matchup is going to likely
turn into a track meet with absolutely no
defense whatsoever being played by either
team. Although I think the 7.5-point line
may look a bit scary, I say take the Suns
to cover while basically overwhelming the
undermanned and defensively challenged Wizards.
