The Houston
Texans finally have something to be happy
about. That’s right,
they started this season with a victory!
Granted, it was over the lowly Chiefs,
but things looked solid for the Texans,
whose zone blocking produced 109 rushing
yards and allowed Matt Schaub to toss 206
yards.
Their opponents
this weekend will be vastly superior.
The Panthers beat the tar out of the
overrated St. Louis Rams, surrendering
only 76 rushing yards while causing Steven
Jackson to cough up two fumbles. Ahman
Green’s best days are behind him,
but the Texans have two solid receivers.
Jacoby Jones is averaging 16.5 yards per
catch.
This is going
to be a fun game to watch because Andre
Johnson and Steve Smith are in for a
showdown. The rumors of Jake Delhomme’s
demise were greatly exaggerated and he
will be able to come close to another 200
yard performance.
But Schaub,
Johnson and Jones will keep this game
close. Carolina’s aggressive
defense will give them the nod in this
game, even though the Texans opportunistic
front seven were able to hold KC to three
points.
