The 4-0 Dallas Cowboys visit the struggling
Buffalo Bills in this week's Monday Night
Football Matchup. I don't know about you,
but I can't remember the last time I even
saw Buffalo play in a prime time game! They
get one this week, and its going to take
everything they have to keep the score respectable.
With apologies to the Patriots, the Cowboys
offense has been the most exciting in the
NFL through four weeks. Dallas leads the
NFL in total offense (440.8 yards per game)
and scoring offense (37.8 points per game),
and is tied for the league lead with seven
rushing touchdowns. The Cowboys will be facing a Bills team that
is last in NFL total defense (430.2 yards per game) and passing defense
(282.2 yards per game).
Buffalo, who is still missing starting
QB J.P. Losman will once again turn to rookie
QB Trent Edwards. Last week Edwards threw
for 234 yards with a touchdown and an interception
for Buffalo, in an OK first game. He'll need
some magic this week though to beat a tough
Cowboys team looking for their first 5-0
start since the days of Aikman, Emmit, and
Irvin.
Buffalo just doesn't have the manpower to
compete in this one. Coach Dick Jauron said
the team will place Peerless Price on injured
reserve, making him the eighth Bills player
- and fourth starter - on the season-ending
list five weeks into the campaign. OUCH.
The explosive Cowboys are 5-0 ATS in their last five games and 5-0-1 ATS in their last six on the road. The Bills always manage to play tougher football at home at Orchard Park where they are 4-0 ATS in their last four as home underdogs, but the beat up secondary doesn't bode well for them this week.
